  1. You are lucky. Guess my TA isn't good. She didn't give us any onboard credits- nor a group rate discount. I will consider other options in the future.
  2. We always prebook. You can cancel and rebook if the price changes. Best to book now to secure the rate . Enjoy.
  3. Great news! Enjoy the sky suite and especially Luminae and all of the suite perks! Hope you are as successful for the second leg of your cruise as you will be spoiled.
  4. If you "share" the cabin with your mom, and register her in "your" cabin, she can actually sleep in the other cabin, , you can all enjoy the Elite perks.
  5. Yes, none of Oasis either- the Harmony has one! But the suite decks are so much better! However, IMO they cannot beat the Celebrity Edge series Suite Decks.
  6. Perhaps you can consider a handicapped window cabin so you can reserve your spot then watch to see if a balcony becomes available. Some people cancel their cruise before final payment is due.
  7. We do not dine in MDR boarding day- Would definately "unwind" in a specialty restaurant which will give you a table for two and excellent service and food. I agree and do not like to dine with others. Have had some bad experiences with "conversation hogs".
  8. Not a fan of Carnival. Found everything on their ships inferior to Royal and Celebrity. We especially love the Oasis class royal ships . Hope the Icon will also be great.
  9. We enjoy the suite deck on the Allure. The bar is "usually" great. We had have had wonderful bartenders on the ship and some not so wonderful. We enjoy the shaded areas also and a dip in the hot tub. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. If not interested in alcohol, we book the non-alcoholic beverage package. We get special coffee's, water and non-alcoholic drinks. We enjoy the frozen types of drinks on a hot afternoon. We also take spec water and cans of soda to our stateroom or on a shore X. IMO worth it. We do not drink the machine offerings. We wouldn't carry soda or bottled water on board.
  11. Why not cancel now? Just be sure that is what you want to do.
  12. Absolutely yes. We sail in suites on Celebrity. We typically take at least a three night specialty dining package. While Luminae is fine- the menu isn't great IMO. The specialty dining is much better. We enjoy breakfast in luminae, and some lunches- but if you are on a cruise more then 5 nights- I would book a few specialty restaurants. We enjoy Le Petit Chef. If you do not like the menu, they have alternate food- but it is a nice experience. Enjoy.
  13. We have stayed in CP multiple times. We enjoy deck #9- over a store with a nice window seat. Then 10 or 11. Deck 14 not good- under the pool.
  14. Not easy to get a seat at the bar- come early. Also seating around the bar and you can see the "show". Yes you can order mocktails, soda or wine. They serve many drinks besides martinis
  15. If you don't mind drinking at 8AM works! But you also get some free drinks during the evening if that works best for you. Also, best to consider the buffet or MDR for a hot breakfast! Enjoy.
  16. We will be on the Apex at the end of the month and hope that Starlink is available then. Had no problems on the Oasis of the Seas this past August.
  17. We sailed on Equinox and enjoyed all the specialty restaurants, including Le Petit chef. They actually have two different menus per week- so you can decide which works best for you. They will also substitute courses as my DH doesn't eat any seafood and they offered him a different menu. We aren't sushi people and do not eat at sushi on five. Tuscan and Murano were good.
  18. If you want a true balcony cabin on the edge class ships, you should book an aft balcony cabin. As said above the infinite balcony cabins are really windowed cabins that open unless locked. We really were disappointed in the narrow cabin. The sky suites and above have true balconies.
  19. We have had sunset view staterooms on the Reflection and solstice on deck 12. While you might hear a little noise from the deck above, didn't bother us at all. So much better the the infinite cabins. I found them small and claustrophobic.
  20. Interesting. The only ships we had a terrible soot problem was on Celebrity's corner aft S1 sky suites. Good to know that some of the Royal ships have a soot problem. Never noticed on Oasis or Harmony.
  21. We are two adults and booked the Icon of the Seas. We feel that the ship has many options for adults only. Yes, the ship will attract many families, but on all ships, we find quiet spots and enjoy seeing families have a great time. My only negative comment is the pricing is crazy, but it is still high for some of the old "tug" boats Royal still has. Thus far, the only ship that have disappointed us on Royal was the Adventure of the Seas. We have tried the Quantum and found that class of ship disappointing. Thus far our favorite class is the Oasis class.
  22. Cannot answer about room service, However IMO I would definately book a SV. A true balcony. I am not a fan of blu. Poor location on the edge class ships. We don't use any blu perks. The new concept with the MDR's is great. Or book a few specialty restaurants for dinner. Enjoy your cruise.
  23. Yes- pricing is getting insane. We always (in recent years) have sailed in Sky Suites and above on Celebrity. And Crown loft on Royal, however since pricing is getting insane, we are considering cruising less or will seek other options in the future. When we started cruising, we enjoyed balcony cabins , so perhaps we will go back to basics.
  24. You cannot take advantage of. Only if cabins are available, and the price drops before final payment you can.
  25. Unless in the Haven, IMO not a fan of NCL. The ship is so crowded and food not as good as Celebrity. Also NCL regular balcony cabins are small. While the ports are very important, we also enjoy the ship and nice accommodations.
