  1. I think it should be able to be done on the app AND a computer. You can’t print from a phone. I’ve also had trouble checking in while on a ship. And yes sometimes it’s easier on something bigger than a phone for old eyes.
  2. I know this is not what your pain is from but I had stage 4 cancer on my trigeminal nerve. This is extremely rare. It’s not really even in literature. The pain from that nerve is some of the worst pain possible, right up there with kidney stones and childbirth. My point in sharing is explore all avenues needed to get the relief you deserve. Mine actually started with numbness, then pain. Despite an MRI it was missed for 9 months.I wasn’t a good advocate for myself despite being a medical professional. I’m almost 2 years post treatment. Full remission with immunotherapy which is a miracle. I read about all the TMJ treatments before my diagnosis. There are things to try if this doesn’t work.
  3. We have one of these extended balconies in 10 days. I didn’t want it but it was the only balcony left. We’ll see how it goes but it looks like minimal privacy and you can’t see down into the water. It’s better than an ocean view.
  4. Sorry you ended your cruise with covid Jimbo. As we were getting off Radiance in July a couple who were masked with bags were escorted to a full elevator by masked staff. Pretty sure they had covid. Royal didn’t care as they were escorting them off. I pulled DH discreetly away and waited for another elevator. I think you’re right that they just want you off so it’s your problem now.
  5. Personally I think this is great. I don’t hate kids. It’s just nice to have an adult place to go on ships when there are lots of kids on board. It’s not always quiet when adult groups get loud but at least there’s no loud pool music. Teens sometimes don’t know how to behave especially later in the day and later in the week it seems to get worse. Honestly if you have a quiet teen16-18 I’m guessing no one will say a thing. This gives Royal a way to keep noisy, rowdy teen groups out.
  6. We have been to Rome and Naples but haven’t made it to Venice. Your pictures make me want to go. If looks lovely in September.
  7. While they aren’t my first choice we have had them and haven’t had any issues. Noisy balcony neighbors are worse. One problem on some ships is where the connecting door is located. Sometimes it means a loveseat instead of a couch or a chair instead of a love seat. If that’s all there’s left to book I will google a video of the type of cabin so I can see the lay out in the room. Noise really hasn’t been an issue.
  8. Use google maps to see. I think you’ll have a hard time getting from Oasis to any other terminal without a cab. We used one to go from terminal G to Oasis. No way you could walk, too far, no sidewalk connecting and risk to your life. I just looked and they are by each other. So you might be able to do it. I doubt there are sidewalks though.
  9. We are going to Greenland RT Boston in September of 2024 on Grandeur. It doesn’t go to Iceland. Also the last leg of the world cruise stops there.
  10. There’s a very small suite “lounge”. Water, juice and some cookies. We were the first to board. If you want a seat get there very early.
  11. We booked bulkhead middle section for LAX to Sydney, comfort plus. I’m hoping this wasn’t a mistake. I get a bit claustrophobic when I can’t see out but we are going to be over water for the whole trip. When people don’t open the shade all trip I can get a little panicky if I’m in the middle seat. Since it’s 3,3,3 I didn’t want a window and not be able to get out when I want to. Bulkhead no one can recline into us, more leg room, I can use blow up foot rests, and get up when I want to. But that’s a long way to go with no window in reach.
  12. We have not been happy with the food since January. We just eat less now. It’s not all bad but certainly not memorable. Now it’s just eat to sustain not something to look forward to. At least they haven’t messed up the cheese bread.
  13. I have a set of 8 Loving Cups. I guess it’s time to let those go. Fun memories.
  14. Just wondering if quite a few left the ship or not? Glad to know Radiance made it to Vancouver and will head south.
  15. Odyssey has 2 types of Jr suite bathrooms. Ours had a powder room with sink and toilet and another with sink, toilet and shower/tub combo. Others have a powder room with sink and toilet and another with sink, separate tub and separate shower. I think there’s another type too that’s more square than long with a single bath. There are just a few of those I think? We love the 2 bathrooms even though there’s just the 2 of us.
  16. You will LOVE the Jr suites on Odyssey. 2 bathrooms and so much space. It also gets you into CK with a reservation. And that itinerary is great.
  17. Up until now, pre retirement, we couldn’t get away for longer than about 10 days. Now that retirement is upon us, we aren’t booking anything less than 10-14 nights or longer due to airfare. If we’re going to pay to fly we have decided we will stay awhile. If prices stay up we will be re evaluating where to spend our travel money. Cruises aren’t the only way to travel and Royal isn’t the only line out there.
  18. I’ll have to watch for it now. Have not seen it since the shut down. I doubt we’d do it as D+ but maybe if we had 4 days to use it we would. I did like the wine package ages ago. However lately they’ve had fewer wines on board we even like so not sure that’d be worth it either.
  19. I’m definitely bringing more than a hoody or jacket next year. Brrr. It will be fun packing for that trip since it’s down to the Southern Caribbean first and then up to Greenland. The parka, boots and gloves can stay packed for the first half and will put the snorkel, swim suits and shorts away for the second half.
  20. We’ve done woodwind which was very good but I did get cold snorkeling there as it was a bit stormy. Huge waves that day but we did swim with turtles. We’ve also done the golf cart rental which I really enjoyed too. It was great just to be out alone on the salt flats and then snorkeled a bit on our own at the 100 steps I think it was called. Next time I want to go to Klein island.
  21. We’re doing an ocean view on this cruise next year and I think I’m going to be okay with it. No fresh air but I don’t like cold and that looks cold. So glad you got to see the northern lights. I’ve heard you can’t capture it really in pictures but I’m sure you’ll never really forget it.
  22. No more tutti salad sadly. But you can go to Park Cafe on Radiance class and oasis class and get a nice choose your topping salad.
  23. Interesting thread. We’ll be cruising around Australia and New Zealand for 8 weeks next year. We plan to use a credit card, not Amex, not a debit card for everything. No transaction fees. What do we need cash for? How much should we get when we arrive? What about public transportation, cabs? We spent a weekend in Canada recently and we were able to use a credit card for everything and didn’t get any cash. I
