  1. I really don't flippin care what others wear to dinner as long as they take a bath (really don't want foul body odor to interfere with my enjoyment of my meal)and aren't falling down drunk( again, I don't want a drunk someone either vomiting or falling into me while I am eating my meal and yes, that has happened to us). Hubbs and I like to dress a little (coat and tie for hubbs, cocktail dress or sparkly top with dress pants for me), but that is our choice. It makes the meal seem a little more special IMHO.
  2. correct. UNLESS-the ports you are cruising too require up-to-date vaccine status/covid test ( Bermuda comes to mind). 6 days or longer require a pre-embarkation covid test within 3 days ofr fully vaxed.
  3. Hubbs and I have taken 4 cruises in the last year ( Carnivalx2, Viking and MSC-so different protocols). We have driven and flown to the ports. We are up to date with vaccines. We have NEVER had covid ( at least not that we know of). So yes, it can be done safely.
  4. We will be on the Royal next May with stops in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan (at least right now-unless the ports get changed 😏). Hubbs is wanting to buy a gold nugget ( yea, I know🙄). Anyone know which port would be best to look? Thanks! baf
  5. No, there isn't an expiration date
  6. And it states the booster is not required because the CDC does not state fully vaccinated requires a booster. Up-to-date includes a booster. The only time frame stated is 14 days. I guess if you want more definitive answers than what is on the Carnival website-you could CALL YOURSELF rather than argue with people trying to help you.
  7. Vaccinated cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the sailing day (not counting embarkation day) and have proof of vaccination. Additionally, the CDC has strongly recommended that individuals obtain a COVID-19 booster vaccination, when eligible. Should the CDC definition of fully vaccinated evolve to require the booster shot, our policy will adapt accordingly. Consequently, we also strongly encourage all guests who are eligible to get their booster vaccine. Boosters may be required for specific voyages based on duration or destination requirements. The following voyages require fully vaccinated guests, ages 12 and older, who are more than 6 months past the last dose of their initial vaccine series to be boosted in order to sail: Carnival Pride® and Carnival Celebration™ Europe – All 2022 departures Carnival Splendor® 23-day Carnival Journey (Transpacific) – September 6, 2022
  8. Guests must present an original vaccination record issued by the country's health authority (i.e., U.S. CDC's Vaccination Record Card). A digital COVID-19 Certificate (QR code), a record of COVID-19 vaccination from a healthcare provider (original digital email), and a personal electronic health record or government Immunization Information System record is also acceptable. Copies or photos are not accepted. The name and birth date on the vaccination record must match the guest's travel documents. The vaccination dates must indicate the guest has completed the required doses no later than 14 days prior to the sailing date (not including embarkation day). Vaccine type, dates administered, and lot numbers must be clearly visible. When required, booster dose must also be reflected on vaccination records.
  9. No. Both people i the same cabin have to have the same package
  10. Yea but it makes for a better headline using those "trigger" words...🙄
  11. I looked at our May 2023 Alaska cruise and the price dropped $338 for our mid ship mini suite. Call placed to our CVP for the adjustment.
  12. When Crown Princess was replaced with the Royal, our MS was changed from deck 8 aft ( one of those sweet corner balconies) to deck 15 forward, right over the Lido deck. I contacted our CVP and she agreed the new cabin was a lousy replacement. It took her 2 days, but she got us deck 10 mid aft in one of the MS with the bigger, angled cabin. All our perks/OBC transferred and it cost us an extra #39 to go from the ME cabin to an MA cabin. Now if shore excursions would open up...😏
  13. Are they cancelling the ocean medallion orders when being switched from the Crown to the Royal? Really wish it would all happen together rather than bits and pieces....
  14. I contacted my PVP ( who is working on changing my cabin. I went from deck 8 aft- one of those mini suites with the covered balconies- to deck 15 forward, right under the lido deck. Uh no thanks.). While she was on she discovered that shore excursions have been cancelled and refund to my cc is pending. I have the receipts and will be ticked if the price increases when I try to rebook those shore excursions. Oh and the water I purchased is also cancelled.
  15. Same here. Mine is May 6, 2023. Kinda bummed because we had one of the corer aft mini suites that were partially covered...
  16. We upgraded last week. We had booked under a promotion that also included 1 specialty dining. WHen our PVP redid it to include the new premier package, it added 2 more specialty dining credits for a total of 3. Was a total of $75 each for our 7 day Alaska cruise for next May. I cashed in some points for a $100 Princess gift card and used AARP to buy more gift cards at 10% discount. SO the upgrade ended up (actually) costing $225. We consider it well worth it because we like the top shelf and better wines.
  17. No it was a requirement last July on the Viking ocean cruise we took around Bermuda last July. We spit in a tube every morning for 7 days. Really wasn't a big deal..
  18. We just upgraded our Alaska ( May 2023) cruise to include the new premier package ( whether or not it will be worth it is for another post😁) because I just didn't want to have to worry about what drinks our included. But I see we each have 2 specialty dining credits. My question is can we just use all 4 credits for one night in a specialty dining venue and invite our friends to use up 2 of the credits? Thanks, baf
  19. I had the same problem. FOr some reason it wouldn't accept any credit cards. So I just use paypal and use the credit card thru them. I have purchased $2000 i goft cards over the last 3 months.
  20. Under the contract terms for the "old" premier package, it states beverages up to $12. Under the new "plus" package, it states beverages up to $12. Same package with just a name change. Princess should just have used a different name for the "new" premier package to avoid confusion.
  21. I too am a female vet. Wear them with pride! You earned them. baf
  22. I was on the MSC Seashore last Jan, 2022 and the last night I was given a little gift from the casino as well as an offer ( to be used within 12 months) for a free balcony for up to a 7 day sailing and $200 Casino cash. This was given to me on the last night. I was told it would have been left in my cabin if I was not in the casino the last night. I played sots as well as table games ( some roulette, some BJ but mainly 3 card poker)
  23. I recently sold some RCL gift cards purchased thru error from AARP ( ya I know now to never buy before I've had my coffee). I posted here and on several "social media" sites. Try posting on the specific cruise line sites. I did take a hit ( lost $100 from a $450 purchase, but felt fortunate to recoup most of that money) I used paypal thinking that was safer for both me and the purchaser. There will always be some trust involved tho. Good luck!
