  1. It doesn't help that testing has been unreliable. I had it back in January. Had a scratchy throat but home test was negative. I need documentation for work so got tested again the same day at a center and it was positive. My wife had worse symptoms and it took 3 days and 4 tests to show up.
  2. Good info. There will be a grandkids cruise one of these days and this will be useful.
  3. On our last Allure we thought we'd watch it in the terminal before boarding. There was no wait so we sat down at the pub once on board watched it and then walked over to our station outside guest services and checked in.
  4. Not an Avs fan but after watching them against the Oilers they're playing on a different level. Best of luck.
  5. Did I miss where you identified the ship? Owner's suites in general are oversized grand suites. They come with a dining table and a shower separate from the tub but not much difference other than size. The 2 bedroom grand suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. I don't know what the difference is between a 1 bedroom grand suite and a 1 bedroom grand suite with a large balcony. They could be on a ship I haven't sailed.
  6. Only used it to upload vax card and to check nightly events. Never use it for reservations or checking onboard account. I do carry my phone for work so the app does come in handy.
  7. With volatility this high you'll need some luck no matter how much research you do.
  8. Either you believe in the company based on their metrics or you don't. If you're an investor, buy...buy....buy. If you're a trader, good luck.
  9. No. I ordered the drink package and then much later I added Surf & Stream. Both times I got the error in Chrome.
  10. If you search on Youtube for Starlink reviews there's some good ones out there.
  11. Lately every time I've tried to make a purchase on Royal's site I get the 'Bad Request' message using Chrome. If I switch to Firefox it works.
  12. But from the concierge's perspective, it may have been a nightmare if they let the D+ in knowing their are too many. We've been D+ for a while and unlike some, if a lounge is full we just move on. Others will complain until blue in the face that they can't take advantage their benefits.
  13. Typical Cruise Critic. People complain about unruly kids and some parents get their fur up for no reason. Relax...unless of course your kid is a hellion. Edit: I do appreciate the non-COVID quarrels though.
  14. It will be interesting to see if they allow cancellations up until 48 hours before for a period of time if the protocols are changed to no test before boarding.
  15. Cruise Critic is almost back to normal... Poster: "Kids are out of control." Reply: "Adults are worse."
  16. Not trying to be a jerk but how did they know? Was it announced?
  17. From the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2022/s0610-COVID-19-test.html
  18. I'm not against pre-boarding testing and while it's a pain, I understand why the cruise lines would not depart from it. That said, they've been telling us for 2 years who should be worried. I've had it. Even at 63 I wasn't high risk so it was like having a cold. The larger point was how does anyone know the percentage of positives at the end of a cruise.
  19. Oasis and Allure have the best area to light up a stick. Port side pool deck has areas sectioned off that are protected from the elements for smoking. You might have to fight off the cigarette smokers during the day but I don't know if there's that many at night. Definitely miss the lounges.
