  1. I always get a chuckle at the airport because I have to go through the X-ray at security and you have to take out your money. TSA always wants to skim through my huge wad of cash which is more ones than anything else. They probably think I'm heading to a strip club.
  2. Our last cruise was a 'Grand Suite Guarantee' but if you looked on their website there were no grand suites available. Finally assigned a GS about 30 days out. I'm with others thinking you'll get a JS but you never know.
  3. Every now an again the wife sneaks nonessentials into my beer fridge. My protests go unheeded.
  4. My last boss would take a piping hot Dunkin Donuts coffee and put it in the microwave. I can't believe he could actually taste it.
  5. Craft is probably closer to 25 percent of the market. Red Hook Longhammer is my usual go to on most Royal ships. Not sure if they're still considered micro and I'm not a Stone fan. I'll hit a Coors Light after yard work but my beer fridge is usually stocked with 95 percent microbrewery beers. It's an expensive habit I'm not willing to give up. Royal's beer selection overall is not great.
  6. Another vote for Nachi Cocum. It's a chill area just so you know.
  7. Allure had it in May. No signage but they had people stationed at the usual area in both the theater and Studo B.
  8. It takes a little work, the right bartender, and a couple of extra $ but it can be found.
  9. Zacapa Old Fashion Captain and Coke Whiskey or bourbon Old Fashion depending on what I see at the bar.
  10. Most of the time. No guarantees lately though.
  11. 😫 TFW you realize you're reading a thread started 6 months ago.
  12. Check around for transaction fees. Some online brokers have zero commissions on stock purchases. https://www.fool.com/the-ascent/buying-stocks/landing/top-online-stock-brokers-for-your-investing-strategy/?publisher=ta-brok-co-adw-na-brokerage-2-na-na&campaign_group=596352112029&gclid=CjwKCAjwrNmWBhA4EiwAHbjEQJgHPqSFkqEy1wrm1A8y7YpN0H-_u07UxlxzJpyjYDsSappMAdD7wxoCFC8QAvD_BwE
  13. Not yet. We had so many Southwest points from cancelled flights and large purchases through the pandemic we were able to book the next 2 round trips for almost zero dollars with points to spare. We'll see how long they'll last though.
  14. Both the Retreat Lounge and Sun Deck have been revolutionized. The lounge is nice but the sun deck is not comparable to those on the Edge Class ships.
  15. I told a bartender I wanted to try it once and he said I wouldn't be able to finish it...challenge on. While I like all the ingredients, I'll keep them separate in the future.
  16. Thanks for the list. We're in the 360 ballpark and it's the first time I've seen it since they removed the options from the website.
  17. There are actual people who love Dublin Iced Tea? 🤣🤪
  18. Tough choices. Equinox was our least favorite S Class but it's still a great ship. We've only sailed Summit in the M Class. The crew on Summit is it's greatest asset.
  19. We haven't sailed the Quantum Class yet so as of now Oasis Class is our choice because of the suite variety and amenities. That said, we still sail the other classes when we see a deal we can't pass up.
  20. We're booked on Apex but haven't sailed an E Class yet. We just like the value of the Retreat on all 3 classes. We're booked on Apex, Millennium, and Equinox for December, February, and May. We have Royal booked too but even though we've spent more time on Royal, Celebrity is pulling us away.
  21. There's always that Owner's Suite for $6K pp. 🤣
  22. We liked them more before they put a tub in the loft bathroom. The Oasis and Allure had an awesome shower up there.
  23. Don't feel bad. In 2009 I had just opened my stock account. We had been sailing Royal for over 10 years and watched the stock drop from mid $30's to mid $5's. As it rose to mid $7's I suggested to my wife we buy it. We had hit Diamond and the share holder discount wasn't combinable with the balcony discount so she said no. As the good dutiful husband I did not but I also remind her every time she's skeptical about a stock purchase. It's like having a trump card. 😆
