  1. We purchased ā€œto goā€ cups from the on board shop (on Voyager ) and they were great to use on board. Will be packing them to use on our next cruise. they were a little hard to find, up on a top shelf near the Regent logo wear, and pricey, but what else do you do with on board credit šŸ˜Š?
  2. If there are cabins available, you can ask your TA to find out how much the cost would be to upgrade the cabin. We recently did this for an upcoming cruise. It was slightly less than the current price difference shown on the website, and if you do not take the pre-cruise hotel you receive a discount for that. Additionally, any purchased excursions will be repriced based upon the PH discount, so you might get a little bit back on your ob credit.
  3. I have never seen either Prime 7 or chartreuse open for lunch, most recently on the Voyager. Maybe I am not looking at the right section in passages? If someone could share a snapshot of this option I would appreciate it!
  4. Yes, sorry, you are right- Brisbane. And I did say that they were probably not able to get a berth at the other terminal. I did not blame Regent. I simply said that I had a bad feeling about the cruise and chose to cancel it. There are other places I want to go.
  5. We canceled a 2024 NZ to Bali before all this latest debacle unfolded. They had already changed the itinerary to remove Cairns because the old port closed and I suspect there were no berths available at the new cruise port. Something just didnā€™t feel right about the cruise. Now I am relieved that we wonā€™t have to deal with a changed or canceled cruise.
  6. Hi Mike you have been so helpful with issues with the website, I hope you can help with another issue. On an upcoming booking, I had booked an excursion that used on board credit. Due to the port change, that excursion was cancelled by Regent but my on board credit was not restored. How do I resolve this, or will they fix it once I am on board?
  7. Itā€™s a round trip Tokyo in Marchā€¦
  8. I am booked on an upcoming cruise that is labeled ā€œ2023 Reunion cruiseā€ What does this mean? Is it similar to the 30th Anniversary cruises where there are a few little gifts left in your cabin?
  9. Iā€™m curious to hear the answer. We are flying to Tokyo in March, no flight information yet, and also in an F1 so no precruise hotel. Wondering what RSSC will end up doingā€¦.
  10. No. I have never seen real maple syrup on a Regent ship.
  11. We have used Larryā€™s Limo many times. Always a pleasure.
  12. We know the restaurant manager on the voyager (Francisco) very well. He too is very frustrated with the supply issues for Regent, he told us that there is one provision management service for all cruise lines, and it has been a real struggle to get supplies for the ships. They are still playing ā€œcatch upā€ from the shut down, and delays in container shipments make it even worse. The container is not arriving at a port until after the ship is long gone, then requiring a pick up and shipment to another port where they hope it will arrive before the ship. The head chef also confided that he was unable to get supplies at some ports due to local resistance to sell to the ship. They are still short staffed as well, and some countries (Brazil) have special requirements that prevent some crew from joining until the ship is no longer in Brazil. It is an ongoing struggle, and yet everyone was still smiling and the answer to any request was YES. We had a few disappointing meals (prime 7 has been a problem for us on every cruise), and it does feel like the quality overall has decreased over the years.
  13. I can attest to the incredible baked oysters last night at sette mare. Have never seen anything like this previously on a Regent cruise and it was quite a treat!
  14. Thank you so much for your wonderful trip report. I am reliving past meals at Setti Mari and thoroughly enjoying traveling along with vicariously! šŸ˜Š
  15. My TA told me that if you use the ā€œbook on boardā€ savings there is a price guarantee, but I donā€™t know how it works. I have only seen a price drop once in the past 6+ years. Iā€™m glad that exlandlubber was able to take advantage of the timing, I also did book another trip! On other bookings where they later increased the OB credit offer or added extra pre/post cruise included tours, there were price increases and I was told thatI would have to cancel and rebook, so as pappy1022 stated, it would end up costing more than I had already negotiated.
  16. FYI you can take advantage of the ā€œbook on boardā€ benefits if you contact regent to book if it is 30 days or less before you board the upcoming cruise. Do a search of booking onboard to find the details. https://www.rssc.com/onboard-savings-program hereā€™s the link
  17. Glad to hear your flights went well and you have a good start to your cruise! One burning questionā€¦ do they have cronuts? šŸ˜Š
  18. We have used Travel guard and Travel insured, both through TAs. Had claims with both, one time each, and the agents were exceptionally helpful with getting the claims submitted and paid quickly. E was for the TAP debacle. The other was a trip delay of one day due to weather in Barcelona. The ship could not get into port to let the current passengers off and we could not embark. no complaints with either company.
  19. Read the fine print for coverage and exclusions and cost compared to ā€œprivateā€ trip insurance. The cruise line insurance is usually more expensive and has less coverage. some Ins doā€™s will allow you to ensure the deposit amount at booking to enable the existing condition waiver, and you can the increase the coverage to the full cost at final payment. we always choose private insurance.
  20. Good luck with TAP. They ā€œforgotā€ to put our luggage on the flight from Newark (back in 2022) when we were heading to Lisbon for our first TA on Seadream. Had to purchase clothing in Lisbon at El Corte Ingles as luggage never arrived. Fortunately, Sea Dream facilitated search for our bags. One arrived in Madeira. Other one showed up in Palm Beach at the end of the cruise, missing all items of value, anything with a logo (eye glass case) all menā€™s shirts (with monograms!) pants, jackets, etc. all that was in the bag was menā€™s underwear, socks, sneakers, and spare eye glasses. They even stole the toiletry bag. we did manage to get reimbursed by our travel insurance. The airline only pays a few dollars per kilo. We learned three lessons: 1. We always cross-pack now so we have clothing even if one bag goes missing. 2. We can enjoy a cruise with next to nothing to wear, and if other people are offended they can look at someone else. 3. We will avoid flying on TAP .
  21. Dec 6 2024 included tours have a price of $1199 or $1799 depending on which you choose. Being a profit focused corporation, they will only give you a credit of $1199 pp for the standard, included tour. So $4299 is mor than double the standard fare of $1199. so they will charge you the difference between 4299 and $1199 . Their math looks like they are only giving you the $750 credit. maybe if you present your agent with the amount they should charge you, it can get worked out to your satisfaction. we had a problem several years ago when we took an offer from Regent to add another cruise after the one already booked (at a discount), and then they tried to charge us more than the cost of the two trips combined (with 4 flights instead of just two). It took multiple calls and emails with math attached to get it resolved. We had the ā€œb-teamā€ at the travel agency instead of our agent, and she was clueless. We never used that agency again (for many reasons).
  22. The first cruise we recently booked and asked for a land package upgrade, it was the price difference. The most recent booking we made, they at first tried the non- use credit of $750, which was almost 50% less than the price to book it on your own. I questioned this with my travel agent, and eventually it was changed to the difference in price if either was booked directly, and they did also provide the PH discount. I think it depends on the agent that your TA works with. A little bit of encouragement will get you the more appropriate price.
  23. Sorry that seabourn was not a o your liking- we were wondering how it would compare to RSSC and your comments match up with our interpretation of their information on the website. Is it more formal too? Obviously not when confined to your cabin, but you know what I meanšŸ¤ Doubly sorry that you ended up with Covid- were you able at least to see the puffins you were looking forward to? let us know when you pass through Yulee again- hopefully we will be around and we can meet up again! We have 3 future cruises booked with Regent, but I think all the flights are too long for you to join us!
  24. Update: my TA was actually able to speak to a Regent Air representative and have a 3-way call with me today, not waiting 2-3 weeks as originally stated. Even though we see our old flights as available on the airlines web site, they are actually changing to unacceptable options. Regent is removing the surcharges over and above the standard air allowances for the outbound flights. It is a compromise we can accept and I am pleased that they are being fair about the charges. Our next cruise after this one we had already decided to take their standard air arrangements, even if it means possibly getting stuck on yet another crappy international United flight with broken lavatories in business class ( yes, every United overseas business flight we have been on has had a broken head, run out of meal selections for dinner and breakfast, and had poor service). At least we wonā€™t have the stress of constantly changing flight itineraries at an extra cost. again, thanks for letting me ventā€¦
