  1. This looks like the menu we had earlier this month. I enjoyed the seafood paella and my husband really liked the short ribs (sorry, no photo).
  2. Wow, so a football field length. My husband has some trouble walking long distances. I should have noticed this when I booked the cabin but I'm used to ships having three sets of elevators: forward, mid and aft.
  3. We are booked an aft balcony on deck 9 for later this year on Serenade. I was looking at the deck plans and it looks like there's an aft stairwell, but no elevator. Is that correct? If so, is it a long walk to the mid elevators? Thanks!
  4. Congrats on making it to Platinum! The extra 2 specialty meals and free bag of laundry are great perks. I hope you like the Dawn. We were on her a couple of months ago for a 14-day cruise. She doesn't have the observation/spinnaker lounge or great outdoors like the Jade but she's still a nice ship.
  5. She was our first cruise too. Just a 3-nighter to see if we liked cruising. We were hooked!
  6. Norwegian Prima and Regent Seven Seas Navigator docked in Cozumel.
  7. The Latitudes wine list from our Prima cruise last week:
  8. Ship - Prima Deck - 5 Stateroom # - 5200 Stateroom Category – Large Oceanview with Round Window (OA) Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No balcony in this cabin. There is a large round window that lets plenty of natural light into the cabin. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A Was wind a problem? - No. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - None. Any other comments? - This is a large cabin that includes a full-size couch. I believe it's the same size as a balcony cabin. There was plenty of counter and shelf space in the bathroom. The shower was big too.
  9. We just sailed on the Prima last week. Cagney's is always a favorite of ours. It doesn't matter which ship, it's always good. We enjoyed Onda and Le Bistro too. We were disappointed with Palomar. The Dover Sole was no longer on the menu. That left five items in the seafood section, two of which were upcharges. The server suggested the Monkfish. She said the flavor and texture were similar to lobster. I agree the texture was similar (I needed a knife to cut it), but the fish itself was pretty bland.
  10. We just got off the Prima. We were in an Oceanview cabin and received twice daily service. We did not have to request it.
  11. We were on the Prima and missed GSC yesterday. We both received $50 in refundable onboard credit. Some of it was applied to our onboard account balance. I went to the Onboard Credit desk yesterday evening and received the remainder in cash.
  12. We just got back from the Jan 8th 7-day sailing. Donna Summer was on Day 2 and Day 7. Show times were 6:30pm and 9:30pm both nights.
  13. We were in a Family Suite on the Dawn in November. There was no DVD player in the room. Not sure if you can request one. There were on-demand movies on the TV that were free for suite guests. The selection was not very good, but I think some of the movies change out monthly. I didn't check out the AV inputs.
  14. A recent video tour of the Sun. The ship looks to be in great shape. A video tour of an inside cabin on the Sun. Toward the end is a tour of the bathroom showing the fabric shower curtain and hair dryer. Sounds like you can request a regular hair dryer.
  15. Does the Sun still have the fabric shower curtain and the large hairdryer unit in the bathroom?
  16. If you cruise during school holidays you will have a lot of families with children of all ages onboard. Be mindful of college spring break too.
  17. Yes, we had a wonderful cruise and I'm wishing the same for you! Best wishes in the New Year! - Anne
  18. No top tier event on the short 3 and 4 night cruises. Not sure about 5 and 6 night cruises.
  19. We cancelled an excursion while onboard the Dawn recently. The credit went to our onboard account. We spent part of it down, but not all of it. A couple of days before debarkation we received a letter in our stateroom advising us that we had a credit on our account and that we had to go to the Onboard Credit Desk to receive the refund in cash.
  20. Yes, the Dawn's theater seats are as you described. The balconies had bench seating with a ledge by the glass for you to place a drink. Some of the balcony seating area is curved a bit away from the stage.
  21. Here is a recent video for Owners Suite 9006. There is no second bedroom. I suspect the couch pulls out into the second bed.
  22. We did not have a DVD player in our Family Suite last month. I don't know if it's something that you can request, though. There are some on-demand movies available (free of charge for suite guests), but the selection was not very good.
