Enchanted Princess Premium Minisuite M107 or M108
BabsinTX replied to Jules&Ted's topic in Princess Cruises
We book suites on Grand-class ships but prefer these minis on Royal-class ships. We actually like the Lido cabins just above; the cabin layout is better for us. -
I've checked out these cabins while on Caribbean. Apparently they were intended to be handicapped cabins but didn't meet the exact criteria. The beds are separate but I've read on CC that they can be put together, IF the steward knows how. If so, it would leave a very narrow pathway to the toilet. And there isn't much counter space in the bathroom if I remember correctly. But it's got the elongated balcony as a plus. I'd book it.

Princess to sail year round from Galveston?!
BabsinTX replied to BabsinTX's topic in Princess Cruises
The only other port that let us stay onboard between B2Bs was FFL several years ago, and it seemed like a trial run. -
Just saw this today and hope it happens: https://www.galvnews.com/news/princess-cruises-could-make-galveston-home-port-director-says/article_f03ace1e-1902-5807-8c19-9efa02868784.html The best thing to me (besides the four hour drive to the port) is you don't have to get off the ship in Galveston on a B2B. The immigration officer comes onboard to check your passport.

Notes about my 80s themed cruise experience - Ruby, April 9-14
BabsinTX replied to Honolulu Blue's topic in Princess Cruises
We were on this cruise too. We booked it before it became an 80s themed cruise, so didn't know what to expect. It was a blast! Many people in costumes, wigs, etc. I saw lots of cabin doors decorated with innovative 80s decor. We've stayed on board for the Panama Canal, and the hallways are very blah now. I agree about the younger people onboard, now more people are my age (70). Sigh. Still very nice but much less energy. We would book a themed cruise just for the people watching. -
I've been watching for the South America circumnavigation for two years. Nine friends are waiting patiently for this. From your lips to Princess's ears.

Winemaker diner; Caymus- all princess cruises
BabsinTX replied to FrankieJayIII's topic in Princess Cruises
The Royal class ships have a Winemaker's Dinner, and it looks like they'll be extended to the entire fleet. Excellent! https://www.cruisehive.com/princess-cruises-offers-new-dining-experience-for-passengers/97908 -
Grand Princess Penthouse vs Vista Suite?
BabsinTX replied to Ken the cruiser's topic in Princess Cruises
I haven't sailed in a Vista Suite on Grand, but the other ships' Vista Suites have minimal bathroom counter space and storage. No shelf under the countertop or shelves in the left and right corners. The Penthouse is much better for that. -
Ever Had a Port ADDED to your cruise (before final payment)?
BabsinTX replied to dreaminofcruisin's topic in Princess Cruises
Lucky you! I did a Bruges excursion once and loved it. -
I'm waiting for South American cruises, especially to see if Princess restarts the "Around South America" they used to do, either LA to/from FLL, or round trip from LA or FLL. Crossing my fingers, since it's at the top of my bucket list.

Thank you for this important public service announcement and photos! Desserts are very important tp me, but I'll avoid the kiddie monstrosities and stick to gelato and cake.

New Xponential Fitness Classes on Princess
BabsinTX replied to Princessfan20's topic in Princess Cruises
Following. -
I'm on Ruby right now and there are 1,700 passengers onboard; last week there were 2,400. I see several empty cabins on my section of Dolphin (aft). A mini suite tub can two feet high, so could be dangerous in your situation. Good luck.

June 29, 2024--Sky Princess 14-day Iceland & Norway
BabsinTX replied to BabsinTX's topic in Princess Cruises
Beers were $16 USD when we were there in 2017. My husband almost fainted but he didn't stop drinking the beer. His favorite was the Aegir IPA in Flaam. We were recently on a Viking cruise and they carried it--made his day! -

I can't figure out how to move this to the Sky roll call page. I thought there'd be a "Start New Topic" button at the top of the roll call page, but I'm not seeing it. Beats me. I'll leave this here for now. Maybe the moderator will move it tomorrow? -
June 29, 2024--Sky Princess 14-day Iceland & Norway
BabsinTX replied to BabsinTX's topic in Princess Cruises
This is the roll call for 6/29/24 I started today. I looked for a roll call for this cruise and didn't find it, so I started one. Am I missing something? On our last Norway cruise, we didn't book the Flaam train through Princess. I can't remember but we either bought the tickets online before we left home or bought them at the Flaam station the day of. It was cheaper this way, but I haven't checked it yet, since it's in 2024. -

Glad to help! We've been on several of the newer Royal-class ships and we really like their French restaurant (name escapes me). -
We recently booked this cruise. We've cruised to Norway and Iceland before and they are both amazingly beautiful in different ways. One of my husband's favorite beers is made in Flaam so I know what we'll be doing there (after the Flaam train ride)!

LIVE: Ruby Princess Dec 18-29 Western Caribbean/Mexico
BabsinTX replied to ceilidh1's topic in Princess Cruises
Yes we are. Actually we're doing a B2B, 1/22 and 1/29. Can't wait. We'll be at Crooners most afternoons, hopefully sitting at the Crooner's bar. -
We did a B2B on Viking in September-October this year. I couldn't make any reservations on the app beforehand, but once on board it was pretty easy. And we ate at Chef's Table at least five times, and Manfredi's 2-3 times. We also ordered some of Manfredi's bread in the Dining Room. Manfredi's has the best bread on board, in our opinion. We didn't try getting a Manfredi's main dish, though. DH would have had the ribeye every night.

BabsinTX replied to ceilidh1's topic in Princess Cruises
This is a stellar "live from" report. The drink and food menus look very different from our last sailing almost a year ago. And tempting! Can't wait for January 22, 2023 when we do a B2B on Ruby. -
In November we disembarked in FLL off Viking. The ship arrived at 6AM, but immigration wasn't starting work until 7:30AM. So immigration may be the biggest holdup.

Crooners is by far our favorite bar on any cruise ship (though the Royal-class ships tend to have a straight bar rather than curved like the Grand-class ships). Thanks for the seal of approval; we'll be onboard in late January-February. Can't wait! -

Texas has the stupidest liquor laws for cruisers. Along with the above-mentioned rule, expect there to be state employees when you disembark who will require Texas sales tax to be paid for your onboard liquor purchases. Now I'm wondering if our suite in January will have the standard minibar setup on embarkation day, or will they be delivered after we enter international waters?
