  1. I guess some people just need to worry to be happy. I don’t watch what others do and don’t worry about it. Never gotten sick on a cruise either. I worked in medical research and germs are not nearly as mobile as some would have you believe. Do what works for you and I’ll do what works for me.
  2. There is no way a water bottle is going to touch the inside of the dispenser (where the water flows) so if you don’t touch it with your clean cup, you’re good to go, if really worried about this, rinse the dispenser by letting a spoonful or so run out before you fill your glass.
  3. Exactly. Just because regulations MAY say it is Ok to serve for two hours does not mean that is standard practice. Rather it would be the rare exception. As stated above, they know within a few plates how much of each thing they need every half hours. If you are correct, two hours worth of food is ready by 5:45, or as you say maybe even earlier, and all those people arriving for MTD at 7:00 will mostly get food sitting around for 1.5 hours by 7:15 when their order comes. You can get a rare steak at 7:15 or any other time. If I had MTD and arrived at the assigned dining room, along with many other MTD patrons, anytime after I WAS TOLD I COULD ARRIVE, MTD was absolutely open. They are not like some cruise lines which have totally separate dining rooms for each. And yes, the app says early dining (reservation) opens at a certain time and MTD (reservations) open at a certain time. Yes, they could write it clearer and I understand people getting miffed if they wait for their reservation time and then find out they could have gone earlier. You just have to ask questions and accept the answer you get. Enjoy your cruise
  4. Again, we just got off the Freedom and RESERVATIONS for MTD open at 7:00 but MTD opens at 5:45 the same as MDR. You just walk up to the desk and request a table. Wise to wait until 6:00 that first night when everyone is needing assistance with table assignments to avoid a wait or confusion. And they record where you sit so the next night they will ask if you want the same table.
  5. At least 95% of water bottles have removable tops which need to be removed to refill. No need to even get the top close to the dispenser. Germs don’t jump from the bottle to the dispenser.
  6. We were on the Freedom and the last night (7/20) all balcony cabins on starboard side were instructed to either leave their balcony light off or turn it on overnight. There were to be drones revealing a special message in the lights. Did anyone see anything on social media about that. Would like to know who the celebrity was in Miami they were messaging and what it looked like.
  7. OK. Too many misassumptions here to quote. Just returned from the Freedom and had MTD. Early dining started at 5:45. We would usually go to the MTD desk about 6:00 and have a table within 5 minutes. After the first night, no waiting. Had the same table every night even going at 6:30. It was an unused table in the early dining area. There were several empty tables so all were available for anyone with MTD. Food was served at the same time as early set dining, by the same waiters and was the same quality. Waiters actually had more time for us as their other diners were eating.
  8. OK, I’ll take the opposite view to most of you. She knew about the cruise before expanding her business. It may have been the logical thing to do to her but that’s on her. It’s up to her to be more flexible and work with you to find a solution. If her business is that important to her, she should not be upset if she won’t accept any of the many perfectly logical solutions. It then is not unfeeling of him to go alone if he is comfortable with that. And I would say the same if it were the husband who did not want to leave his work or business. We see that all the time where the wife goes alone because he needs to work.
  9. Good to know. I want to experiment and got the package so I wouldn't feel bad if I didn't like something
  10. I know I have recently seen a list of these but of course can't find it when I want it. Tried all the titles with drink in the title. Does anyone know where I can find it? Also, if you have the drink package and it covers up to $14, will that include any premium liquors in the cocktail? Thanks
  11. Have your grocery prices or clothing prices or electricity prices gone up in the last 3 years? Does your hotel room cost more? Do you get less for more cost? Why should the cruise industry be any different.
  12. Same result. The $14 drink without the package will also be $16.52. I'm wondering if you can get any of the premium liquors in your cocktail since the package covers up to $14 drinks and apparently most of them with basic liquor are $14.
  13. I’m sure security personnel on ships have the same unreasonable restrictions those on land do. Touch a lawbreaker and you will be attacked and end up defending yourself in court. And the entire demographic will demand “justice” for the lawbreakers. And I can guarantee you from personal knowledge that female officers do not shy away from engagement any more than male. Your last statement was absolutely correct in that many of these individuals consider arguing and fighting and loudness normal.
  14. You need to learn what smiley faces mean. Secondly, I’m not one who ever said one muster is preferable to another. Just answering questions posed. But if you really want to make it realistic, why not have passengers “act” panicky? That’s what we do in active shooter training with volunteer actors. On the other hand, does the crew really need to train with passengers every 3-4 days as in short cruises. I just do whatever I’m told to do.
  15. Now you’re just being ridiculous. No one said training didn’t matter in the first place. Do you think firemen put people inside burning buildings to rescue, or crush a car on someone so they can train how to calm the victim? Actually the crew practices crown control every night when they open the dining rooms or give the OK to disembark at ports. 🙂 🙂
  16. Firefighters don't have real victims at their trainings. Military likewise. All emergency personnel train as do the ship crew.
  17. I don't know why simple rules and requests can't be followed by passengers. They are told repeatedly to stay away from deck 3 and the stairs
  18. Some people will be able to perform exceptionally well in a real muster without any training and some will not no matter how many times they have been to training. How often have you witnessed panicky passengers at a drill? Most people are just going with the flow joking around with the crew.
  19. We did one there years ago and not sure of the company. But it was amazing! Strenuous only to the point it was off road and bumpy. We loved it.
  20. We once had a morning flight home to the north country and were some of the few who got out that day. Airport closed shortly after we left and many were stranded (hotels full and car rentals all booked) for two and three days.
  21. And no one made their 4pm flights either.
  22. Do you recall times for the shows?
  23. Made a late reservation and a few days later checked in, so yes, late to the party. Came up suddenly so hadn’t been keeping up on protocols and didn’t immediately realize checkin was earlier than Carnivals. Just so we get on the ship, but i like to explore right away
