  1. Do you recall times for the shows?
  2. Made a late reservation and a few days later checked in, so yes, late to the party. Came up suddenly so hadn’t been keeping up on protocols and didn’t immediately realize checkin was earlier than Carnivals. Just so we get on the ship, but i like to explore right away
  3. Thanks all. Very helpful. Think we will just go when we have to leave hotel even if it is earlier than appointed time.
  4. Haven’t sailed Royal in ages, platinum level. What is typically the earliest assigned arrival times for a short sailing out of Miami? When I went on the app, 12:30 was the earliest available at that time. Any chance earlier may open up? When are cabins ready, usually? Any “secret” places to eat besides the buffet. On Carnival we usually go to the open specialty restaurants at the back of the buffet. Hardly anyone. There.
  5. I sail mostly on Carnival lately but did RCI about 100 years ago so I expect things have changed. Looking for pricing on the ultimate drink package. Does it vary depending on the ship/sailing? Can’t seem to find any numbers. How is the checkin process? Carnival is 14 days prior to sail date for instance. Looking to book Freedom for next month so need to find info soon. Searches here were worthless. Thanks for any help.
  6. Would love more info. Seasoned Carnival cruiser being asked to do RCL Freedom in less than a month. Difficult finding information here. Things like: ultimate drink pkg cost? Is it good on private island? When can you check in? Choose arrival time? How does it work with RCL If booking this late what are the chances a guarantee would be assigned one of the few remaining open cabins? Or will others be upgraded and guarantee given deck 2? Thanks for any help as we need to book ASAP
  7. I don't know of anyone who claims to know there is a long line of people removing tips has ever confirmed that is the case. Even if it were only 5% on a 3000 passenger ship it would have to be 150 people. Tips may be a large part of their pay and the cruise line has statistics to know what that typically is. As for them being paid a pittance, after I pay income tax-federal and state, sales tax, property tax, Soc Sec tax, medicare tax, and a few others, my pay isn't too great either.
  8. Flying out of MIA last Dec, stood in long line and then just as getting to the front was told by staff we should have gone "downstairs" to the cruise checkin. The cruiseline buses apparently drop off there.
  9. Always research where you are going. Lots can change in 6 months
  10. Why would immigration concern you? There are currently no restrictions, as it should be.
  11. No they won. The money came with staying, not with the balcony. Stayed in the suite they originally CHOSE and got paid. If the noise was really the issue, they would have moved and taken the lesser money.
  12. Different kind of dirt. Lol. I refer to young children whose parents never let them touch anything that hasn’t been sterilized. They live on sanitizer. People need some exposures when their immune systems are developing, both germs and foods.
  13. I agree with your conclusion but would take it a step further. We have only had the very first injection because it was mandatory. Wore a mask only when forced to (and even then sometimes not). Never use sanitizer or wipes. Wash my hands as usual, no more, no less. Don’t avoid people or travel, Neither of us have had covid and have been around those who had active cases. People who are never exposed to anything are most susceptible. Remember the old saying “kids need to eat a little dirt”. And we are both over 75.
  14. What is significant and how would you know? Everyone is just guessing except JH.
  15. I thought I was missing something but nothing adds up in their post. If Carnival was so agreeable to keep negotiating why stop. I think if you don’t take their second offer, they should say bye, bye. A suite probably shouldn’t be placed in a noisy location but apparently is occupied every cruise without complaint or it would be changed. You choose your cabin—do the research.
  16. Still not your business to intervene. This is how things escalate. The most you should do in this situatin is remove yourself and alert security if you must. Kind of like everyone else should mind their own business but everything is my business.
  17. Slightly contradictory don't you think.
  18. Amateur performers. It’s a game show to see who can find their two brain cells first and put them together
  19. And now days has turned into two weeks. Telephone game is alive and well.
  20. Have you ever watched the glass elevators. Some people forget. !!
  21. No judging. Just saying that if one expects loyalty awards, they would keep up on researching updates. Same as you research ports, ships, itineraries, prices, excursions, amenities. Especially is one has been away for four years. Lots has changed in that time, and then changed again, and then changed back, etc.
