  1. If you're on an Oasis class ship or the Odyssey, pick up a European converter off Amazon (sorry can't post the picture. Gives you another standard outlet and a couple of USB ports.
  2. Is that the Supremes' (or Vanilla Fudge cover) "You Just Keep me Hanging On" or The McCoy's (with Rick Derringer)"Hang On Sloopy"?😁
  3. Maya Key is a small island off Coxen Hole. There is snorkeling but you need water shoes for the rocks and not sure given the marine traffic how much sea life you'll see now. Also some animals and other amenities. Crowds limited to ship excursions, but if 3-4 ships are in, it could be crowded. It is closer to Mahogany Bay than Tabayana which could easily be a 40 minute ride from MBCC. But snorkeling, especially on a small boat just off shore is so much better on the West Bay. Also you don't have to hang out at the place they drop you off, just need to be back there on time to get back to the ship. Lots of places and expanse.
  4. Pre-COVID, Viator used to offer a nightlife dinner bar tour that stopped at a couple of bars and a restaurant, on the beach. Matthews Beachside up toward Eagle Beach is a great dinner spot. Likewise Sunset Grille in the same area.
  5. We just saw the ad for UDP 35% off on our April 2023 Wonder cruise last week. So watch for the deals. Not sure if they'd offer UDP for a 15 nighter. If you're on the Radiance of the Seas, there's only 3 specialty restaurants---Chops, Giovanni's and Izumi.
  6. Bayou Smoke is Cognac, satsuma liqueur (rum and satsuma fruit juice) and bitters. Not an old fashion. But pretty good.
  7. Still requiring tests for unvaccinated. And cruise passengers didn't have to fill out the Heath Visa to begin with.
  8. For those having trouble booking rapid test appointments sounds like a winner to me. Free government tests are everywhere and getting one proctored for a nominal charge is a good thing. I sense that a lot of people using the free tests are getting false positive results because they aren't using them correctly.
  9. There are a lot of beach bars that offer live music at Happy Hour or evenings. Not much during the day. Moomba Beach or Bugaloo Beach might be your best bets. Surfside is close to port. And Arashi Beach Shack will sometimes have music but decent snorkeling with showers and wifi.
  10. Back! Kokomo!! Can't wait to see what mischief you get into on this baby! Give me some ideas for second boarding in January. Itinerary this cruise? IMO...Hero's is a great place to lounge inside. Serenity is awesome outside. Bar Della is the coffee spot. Emeril's is the breakfast spot. Street Eats for lunch. Rudy's for dinner. Watering Hole for day bevvies and Brass Magnolia or Fortune Tellers are the nightcappers.
  11. As I recall BT was the bourbon at Alchemy. Most of the specialty drinks are vodka and gin and rum based. But there could be another lurking in the back shelf. P&A should have Basil Hayden's, Blanton's, Woodford Reserve, Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig Small Batch. Steakhouse bar has Woodford and Blanton's.
  12. You are correct in that CHEERS will not work at Mahogany Bay. Cash or credit card. We've never taken the sky lift easy walk. We're in our early 70s and DW has foot issues and I have bad knees. Agree with Jeal, if you want a front row go for the umbrella. Sometime there's shade around the middle of the beach but you're not near the water.
  13. Just pick a time around when you normally eat dinner. Either do it in advance via the app or head to the reservation station as soon as you get on board. Pretty simple. But will say there's a tendency for specialty restaurants to get booked up in that 7:30-8:30 time slot.
  14. Yes, but nevertheless, scooters it outside cabins all the time.
  15. There was a tweet this morning on my feed that had a video of Italians carting off protesters blocking the highway. Not just police, but people getting out of their cars to help move the protestors to the shoulder. You could learn some good Italian curse words from the motorists watch that.😁 Try that in the States and you'd get arrested.
  16. Check your ship's deck plans on cruisedeckplans dot com and You Tube for layout, pictures, videos. Also check location versus elevators. If near, you might be able to park your scooter in the alcove at night. But if possible, see about changing cabins to HC. Then request a cot or rollaway bed.
  17. I would say if you go to BlackBeard's Castle, Climb the steps, and stop at Emancipation Park and the St. Thomas Historical Trust Museum you'll cover a lot of history. All are relatively easy to get to from Havensight. There used to be a trolley from the pier to downtown. Plus you can then walk around to the various shops and cafes.
  18. kayaks are the way to see it best. or a glass bottom boat. It's a far distance from old San Juan and you really need to get out on the water to see anything.
  19. My sister-in-law and I have walked around Belize City several times. And I've done it by my self. We've had absolutely zero issues. You'll see on here many posters complaining about the hawkers outside the cruise port, they leave you alone with a simple no and aren't around a block beyond the pier. The church isn't that large and won't take up much time but the culture museum across the street is worth while. And on the way back you can stop at Brodies, the all-inclusive general store. Good prices on Marie Sharp's hot sauce.Annie's Lunchbox or Nerie's are good places to grab a Belizean bite.
  20. But check your times to be sure you can get back. I know the Great Bay ferry out of Bobby's Marina in Phillipsburg has a return at 11AM and then 6:45Pm (St Martin time)
  21. To board, from US your green card would work, and your British passport though should still have 6 or more months left as of travel date. Off a cruise ship, there's no need to show either in Mexico. Just your ship board id.
  22. If you want to just hit the malecon, Machos is at the very end where Avenida Sardinia meets the beach road. But you knew that.
  23. Ride over will depend on weather and sea conditions. Our rides in the past haven't been that bad. Ride is relatively cheap. But unless you're doing a snorkeling excursion or want to snorkel out at the end of Cay Caulker, it's mostly shops some bistros and beach. San Pedro, would be similar and further to go. Across from the tender pier in Belize City is a nice flea market with native goods cheaper than at the tender pier. You can walk over the swing bridge to downtown Belize City and visit the oldest Anglican Church and the Cultural museum in the old Governor's mansion across the street. There's also a Belize sign and the Lighthouse just outside the tender pier.
  24. But be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get through TSA at MIA. I was there on a Wednesday morning around 7AM and the line for the regular TSA checkpoint was way down the corridor. I had Pre-check, so was able to go to that checkpoint with about a 3 minute wait. Colleague had to go through regular TSA checkpoint and I was sitting at the departure gate even after standing in a 10 minute line for La Carreta long before he arrive. There's a myTSA app that can help you determine waiting times.
  25. The place in port is the same place as your ship excursion. you probably won't be able to book separate. IMO, these are a bunch of hocus pocus mumbo jumbo new age adaptations of what someone thinks the Mayans would have done. Sorta kin to many of the spa treatments on board ships claiming to heal stuff.
