  1. We have mostly been on E Class.. AQ Class IV or SV cabin. There are soooo many hangers in the closet..Never needed extra but have taken some out to avoid clacking spound. Lots of cubbys with shelves and drawers..We do not travel light! Had a suite on BEYOND. Huge Closet space. We have a double neoprene wine btl carrier..slip on top of carryon and then hand it through as you are screened. Most attendants have fridge emptied ahead of time... no worries!
  2. not sure you can learn ahead on one E class cruise we had a football insider as a speaker..he was swamped day and night..we were polite but had no.interest in that sport..
  3. btw..ASCENT had piano bar in EDEN.. They are upping their offerings on E Class..
  4. Good Choice! and maybe book 1 or 2 specialty rest to break things up! For early excursions if you go to the buffet you can get waffles!
  5. may also depend on the ship..as well. Our next E class cruise will be on APEX.. does anyone have a fav on her?
  6. post 170 for that lecture series. ..one of the best.... followed after by a review of the CAPTAINS presentation (another awesome speaker) also a review of the Art & Architecture Tour whether folks like to party, play ganes/ sports or attend enrichment, cannot be bored on the ASCENT!
  7. See my extended review of the Kenneth Stein series on my not Quite live from ASCENT... link .. have to check the post #
  8. yup there's the Aspen Coffee! we serve that at home..Husb even bought the footed glass mugs
  9. Saw this post..hope you are doing okay..Hope E Class to a great place will be in your future! Good reminder about insurance..We are on U.S Medicare (no coverage out of US) so we buy mega travel ins for medical and evac. SORRY I DIGRESSED!
  10. Finally caught up on this review..We are thinking about a New Orleans cruise from Tampa itin, but would prefer jazz over Mardi Gras as a theme. I've been there on a business convention, but not with my husb.. Fav spots were the French Quarter (great architecture, and history), excellent dining and a must do trolley ride to Garden District! Paddle wheeler was fun too.. sad about BELLA.. but she is over the Rainbow Bridge..to re-unite some day! And I love this dress
  11. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. We booked a short cruise on Silhouette for Dec 24..Concierge..We may not get off the ship in Nassau but probably will at Key West.. been there before but looking for ideas! We booked 3 Specialty Dining venues so far..waiting for the Porch..
  12. This was a nice review .. Hooe you enjoy the big Oasis! For us Oasis was a one, and how soon can it be done. Just not our style. Dining/ foid/ service was just okay (The Deli that was long touted at Central Park smelled like wet dog..could not eat there!) Best spots for us were the Adult Solarium area... and the nightly Diamond event Awesome! Good ship for families and more active types..zip line wave pool etc Too many lines and crowds. Glad we tried it but, E Class on X hugely outshines!
  13. It goes by price.. check your Classic inclusions ..if over then u pay the diff plus grat!
  14. Our tour was the boat fiasco going over thanks to Excursion Dept lack of prep It worked out okay. We had the Best Guide ever KENO and " all hail to Alexander Hamilton.."..the man not the play. A truly great American! Will post more about tomorrow!
  15. Agree so much going on.. a back to back would hardly cover it all...but I loved our itin, events, weather & smooth seas!
  16. ...BTW glad you chimed in here.. We all missed you at the Cruise Critic Roll Call Party. You were one of our VIPS recognized for OUTSTANDING COUNTDOWN POSTS! They were Great!
  17. Very nice presentation! Thanks for posting it. We enjoy the IGLUs (non-alcohol). I enjoy Tea Forte (use it at home). Tried the White Ginger Pear (over ice) last week on ASCENT..very refreshing! ( pic 1) My husb drinks the double espresso; We both enjoy the biscotti...and some of the tasty mini treats! Neither of us are fans of Lavazza Coffee..no matter what is done to make it less bitter, it remains bitter...others will disagree!
  18. The Captains Presentation.. "OCEANS AHEAD: SECRETS OF SHIPS NAVIGATION WITH CAPTAIN DIMITRIOS" Description " Insights of our Ship operation and how we navigate the 142,000 tons vessel across the oceans. Discover why Celebrity Ascent is a high performance navigation marvel. Brought to you in very personal and humorous way by our beloved Captain Dimitrios" The presentation with power point did not disappoint! (as seen on our stateroom TV) Delivered with great humor, pride, perfect timing and chockful of intetesting info without weighing things down! Highly Rec! from Cap Club Feb Newsletter: "Captain Dimitrios graduated from the Merchant Maritime Academy of Syros-Athens and received his Master’s license in 2001. He started as an Apprentice Officer on board Celebrity’s very first vessel, Horizon, in 1990, and has since sailed aboard every different class of ship in Celebrity’s fleet. He was part of the startup teams for Celebrity Millennium®, Celebrity Infinity®, Celebrity Silhouette®, was the take-out Captain for Celebrity Apex®, and will repeat the feat for Celebrity AscentSM this fall." link to Newsletter which we seem to no longer receive?? https://www.celebritycruises.com/nz/captains-club/newsletter/exclusive-captains-club-newsletter-february-2023
  19. Correct abt 30 items. Just write ELITE + on the receipt..keep your copy. Took a few days. so allow enough time. sorry about ruined clothes ! We only send out undies, white tees and socks which hopefully do not shrink..they use very hot water. We prefer packing the cleaner clothes but re wash everything once we get home!
  20. on E Class its now a Shine/Sparkle deck party replacing the White Nights. Starts after 10 p.m.
  21. Did the e mail give the reason for the earlier time? Usually the first time slot for E Class..no idea abt others..we will be on Silhouette next. Can anyone post menu?. My spouse likes a well cooked burger abd I prefer soup and salad. Not a big deal but would be nice to avoid the buffet.
