One entree at the time MDR?
Eddie Wilson replied to mcatmcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
First cruise was more than 30 years ago. Have been told by a couple wait staff over the years, if you see more than one entree, order both. Also here in Cincy the TAs used to hold “Specials” like sales sessions at hotels, and more than once had some regional sales director of RCL or other lines. I remember them encouraging the same, order multiple entrees, one said it’s a great way to try new foods. I personally have ordered more than one entree a half dozen times over those 30 years, but I have done it and wouldn’t feel like it was wasteful, it was promoted as an incentive to cruise. Eddie -
Thanks to all of you. I always get the quickest and most accurate info on CC. Eddie

On our last 2 sailings, DW and I purchased a package, that I believe they called “Chops +1” For roughly $100/person we dined at Chops one evening and Giovanni's another. For our upcoming cruise (Jewel) they don’t have it or I just can’t find it on the planner. Anyone hear of this one or is my senility working overtime. Did they cease that offering? Eddie

Even is the last night of your cruise you hit the milestone, you receive it that sailing?

Multiple medical emergencies Anthem
Eddie Wilson replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
About 2 years ago captain of ?? Of the Seas turned the ship back toward Purto Rico to close the distance for a medical copter to pick up a man. Prior to taking him up in the stretcher, they sent down the chair for his (assumed) wife. We said, she didn’t look sick? Then he came out in the stretcher and that was some great chopper flying, about 75 feet off deck, perpendicular to ship traveling 15 knots, to lift him aboard and fly back to PR. Eddie -
Disembarked late July, we used RCL air2sea with flights around 2:30 pm. We were the second wave of A2S. Those with earlier flights grouped and were to leave around 8 am. We were supposed to be called at 9:00, but they actually called our number about 8:40, so we had not even made it to the lounge we were supposed to meet at. We were boarded on a bus, and at the airport about 9:30 am. I believe they started disembarkation about 7:30. The airport was an absolute ZOO, so don’t think you will be able to run through it. Had little ones with birth certificates. They did not slow the process. Eddie

Stayed at Hampton in Brickell several times.

Was on a plane once and the young lady sitting next to me opens her travel bag/large purse thingy, and pulls out a dog. She said she does it all the time, never tells the airline because they would charge a good fee. Eddie

Is there a problem on OAS?

I really think that social media sight is passing fake news. Don’t be silly, everyone knows Minnie would never leave the upper crust life with Mickey. However, the best laid plans of mice and men, often go awry. -
Sounds great, can I book and inside cabin with a balcony?

I agree with your math. I am guessing you calculated that at $14 per drink at 4 per day for 7 days. My personal diamond benefit is most likely the lowest, near $50 per week, but that is not a complaint, I just don’t drink much. I think on an 11 night cruise once I had one beer. So RCL most likely loves patrons like me, but I cruise for peaceful adventure of getting away and getting out of the frigid cold. As for Quantum in Alaska, yes they can get pricy, but you can find good deals here and there. We did a Princess and Quantum out of Seattle this year, and Q was less.

Jewel of the Seas cabins deck 3
Eddie Wilson replied to CaptJerry51's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Purely a guess, I would think they are crew cabins. I was on deck 3, and feel deck 2 still had portholes for some crew. -
Crystal Blocks - One per couple?
Eddie Wilson replied to bigeagle12's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Please excuse a corollary question….. If you hit the milestone number of 140, 210 etc on the LAST DAY of a cruise, do you receive the block with that cruise, or wait till the next one. Thank you -
Our group “tied” another group once, so they called up one rep from each team for a show down. Before the question, the rep of the other team says to the host, “We really have one more point, because one of your answers is wrong” The host says, NO, I have the official answers. The rep then says, “Well we googled it and your official answer is wrong” Host says, “ YOU GOOGLED IT! And how many others did you google?” He then did not ask the final question and declared us winners. Prize was a trinket.. I agree with others, at least give a prize like a free Milk Shake at Johnny Rockets, or a speciality coffee, or fresh squeezed OJ, Eddie

Too old to cut the mustard anymore :)

I also heard from some legal expert at some meeting..... In short, apparently McDonalds was arrogant during trial, allegedly admitting they purposely brew to a very high temp, and allegedly knowing people could be burned if spilled on them. My DW has never been a coffee drinker, but will get a hot tea, which they hand you a cup of hot water and a tea bag. She has spilled hot water on herself, thankfully just small amounts, many times as she removes the cap to place the tea bag into. -

They look at claims and outflows, which does affect profit. -

I agree it is different and not right in all cases, but Insurance companies don’t look at individuals, they look at groups. -

It is a form or discrimination, generally justified under the “safety” umbrella. It’s a foundational prudent business practice to, among other things, properly insure yourself and your business. If the vendors don’t have insurance coverage over a certain group, they can’t be forced to operate without needed protection. Isn’t it discriminatory to say a child has to be a certain height to enjoy certain rides at a fair? Or is discrimination trumped by safety concerns? Isn’t it discriminatory to require seniors to take a current driving test to renew a drivers license? Safety again. Insurance coverages are generated by massive risk calculators. For an insurance policy to not cover groups or strata means previous claims numbers have caused it. Now if it were do to vendors saying, “the old farts move too slowly when loading and unloading, so I don’t want them on my vehicle,” that would be a purer discrimination. But I doubt that in these cases as the more people herded in the more money they make. Eddie -

My first blush impression was he confused Wonder with Icon. I think they look somewhat alike -

Are you sure? I mean everyone knows the air pumped into first class on a plane is the purified clean air, and the jet fumes go to the main cabin. My dentist uses the clean equipment on me and the rusty stuff on commoners. -

What do we want? “A time machine!” When do we want it? “That’s irrelevant”
