  1. Just off the Noordam. Very nice and reasonably well-attended "Awards Ceremony" in the (formerly) BB Kings. Recipients had the medallion already, worn them and were called up to have a photo with the Hotel Director. Those with over 1000 days had a group photo taken. And anyone who wanted a photo, got the chance. Two Mariner Luncheons were held for the 1200 or so Mariners onboard. Very gracious and the food was excellent.
  2. Boarding in Vancouver requires Arrivcan submission. Easy and quick to do. In cases like your it has been suggested that you put in Victoria as your port of Arrival. Have a great cruise!
  3. How about the first (or last) Canadian port on the cruise? Why not, eh?
  4. Word from the Mariner Society that this Mariner reward for 4 and 5 Stars is being discontinued. Such a shame, we really enjoyed the copies of Travel and Leisure!
  5. Yay! Working on this right now and taking great comfort that you got it done. I find the "little stuff" and shoes are the big problem. What size are those suitcases? Have a great trip!!
  6. Surprised about the no muster drill. It was mandatory on our 5 B-Bs in April and May. Shows you: read the instructions as things change!
  7. You can make sure your TA links the two cruises (two booking numbers). Then you have a better chance of getting the same cabin, but it is not a sure thing.
  8. I don't understand. Two people, three appetizers? Can't each person can have one appetizer with no extra charge.
  9. The good and very obvious improvements with on board accounting are very much appreciated.
  10. On the app plus email. Ours was about 12 days out.
  11. Take a look at the deck plan, but be quiet about it :)
  12. Really impressed with HAL's accounting on the Koningsdam. No problem getting B-Bs accounts rolling over and perfect accounting instead of the pre-covid need for trips to the Front Desk (repeatedly) to ask for credits for Wine Tasting, Mariner discounts, etc. Very much appreciated that this upgraded accounting continued on the Zuiderdam.
  13. Thank you :) Strange, isn't it, how some threads just don't work? A lot of info except......ordering from MDR menues for room service.
  14. There is a lot of info about this on the Canadian cruisers page on this board. Try that and you will get good advice.
  15. For lunch is it possible to order room service from the MDR lunch menu (when it is open)?
  16. And when the MDR is open can you order room service from that menu?
  17. Thinking of doing more room service on upcoming cruises and have a couple of questions: 1. Has anyone ordered from the MDR menu for lunch? Only on port days, of course when it is open:) 2. If we get up in the morning and don't feel human enough to go to the MDR or Lido but haven't put out our Room Service menu card the night before, can we phone in a breakfast order? Thanks for any experiences or ideas.
  18. Re: stacking of food on plates. It is OK, just remember that as an adult you are allowed to play with your food and dump off whatever is offending you onto the plate from its high perch :) I do this all the time and it never bites back!
  19. Way to go! I'm with you on this, except I do have to take some of the "little things", but not as many as I used to cart around. Excellent planning - thanks for the ideas :)
  20. Shoes are the one big problem, so I try to get away with fewer than I would like!
  21. Thanks for tip. I am researching this today, without knowing much about cubes so your info is helpful!
  22. Hi, Miss G Superior info, merci! Never tried cubes but this is convincing. Not sure where I will find these in Canada but I'm on to it. Any special way you pack shoes?
  23. So, rolling clothes seems to be popular. I've never tried this, but just may. Any other suggestions for packing? I take shoes (flats) and one extra pair of runners, as does my DH, and have a lot of "little things" like a small flashlight, hair brush, toothpaste and toothbrushes, razors, that I put in plastic bags which don't fit too well into the nooks and crannies left over once I have most of the clothes packed.
