  1. I am not sure if Princess would approve an upgrade without their consent. Always raises the question if there is an accident, they wish to know who was in what room.
  2. Depends where the mini suite is located.
  3. I do wish that Princess would see a six pack in one of the shops.
  4. We keep getting notices from Princess is we would like to “Bid Up.” Considering we had selected at the time we booked, a reserve class mini-suite, we have always politely declined.
  5. We will be crossing from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale this October.
  6. It will most likely be a rain event. The cool waters off the Pacific Coast should rapidly downgrade to a tropical Storm when it nears California.
  7. To tell or not to tell. That could indeed be a problem with Covid. I would hope that the Captain would suggest “wearing masks in croweded conditions” without actually going into the specifics of Covid. I do know that on several cruises, because of Norovirus, the Captain reinforced the importance of washing hands.
  8. So so sorry to hear about your brother. I do hope that he makes a speedy and complete recover. Sad to say that Covid, like Norovirus, Influenza, Parainfluenza, Rhinovirus and a host of other illnesses will continue to be with us. In addition, a cruise ship is a “closed circuit” in that if one becomes ill, he or she cannot ‘check out’ and go home. Make sure that you wash your hands. Make sure that you are up to date with all necessary vaccinations. Take an N 95 or KN 95 makes and make sure that you now how to wear it properly. Hopefully, the Captain will be on top of any problems and inform the passengers of what measures to take. Make sure that you follow them.
  9. We have this, and it works great, but I was questioning whether there is a plan to use while at sea.
  10. Does anybody know if Princess has a package plan for a flat charge for one's ability to use their telephone at sea? If so, has does one go about purchasing it. I did a search on the Princess Website and could not find anything. Thanks for the help.
  11. As long as I can get a chocolate chip cookie with a cup of coffee mid-day, I am happy.
  12. Depends on the person or couple whether bidding is a good deal. If you want an upgrade, and don't care where the upgrade is, it is worth a try. Personally we booked Club Class on Regal Princess Trans-Atlantic selecting a room with a larger balcony. Princess has contacted us several times, asking if we wanted to "upgrade" using the bidding process. Happy with the room we selected, do not wish to give it up.
  13. Both cruise lines are more similar than different.
  14. I believe that one can be in any class cabin to upgrade to Princess Plus or Premier.
  15. We booked Princess Plus with our cruise well over one year ago. It is now listed as one of the perks that we get.
  16. Holland America is moving in that direction also. They do have extra charges to include drink and tips, and there is also Club Orange.
  17. I remember in the good old days; you started the cruise and generally picked the excursion(s) at your convenience. Now one must book early to get a good room and quickly decide on excursions.
  18. All Princess is doing is making official what some passengers always do; trying to pre-serving seats in the theatre. Have seen on several occasons, individual sitting in one of the best seats in the theatre and then trying to hold several other seats for their spouse and of course friends.
  19. We make sure that we get to the theatre as early as possible. We try to eat dinner after the early show.
  20. We did Sun Princess in 1997. Last year we took Discovery Princess. Loved both ships, but I am a fan of the Royal Class, especially taking a mini-suite. What is most importance is not the Princess Ship but the itinerary of the cruise...Vancover to Anchorage would be my choice.
  21. When we book Princess we select Club Class. When we do Celebrity we book Aqua Class.
  22. There is a chance that the Luxury Lines such as Azamara, Oceania, Silversea, Regent, etc. will continue to specialize with smaller ships. However, for the mainstream and even near luxury lines like Princess and Celebrity, the economics are to build ever bigger ships.
