  1. From my Explorer experience in G cabin, the bed is not the issue, it is a nice size (almost king). But the size of the cabin itself and the type of table in the sitting area felt very crowded.
  2. Thanks for posting this. Somehow we have missed this tasting on our past cruises, but will definitely look for it on our December cruise.
  3. We have cruised Azamara once and have another one booked for 2023, the itinerary is the draw. (Regent is the cruise line we use most) The veranda cabins are small. Our 2023 cruise will be Club Continent which for me seemed worth the increase. We like to have coffee in our rooms while getting ready and a drink while getting ready for dinner. Then the extras that come with the Club Continent are also good.
  4. We had a cruise that required in person visit to get a visa. My TA had a company that would do this for a fee. So we mailed our passports to the company,, they walked over to present the visa and mailed passport and visa back to us. This will depend on location of offices in the US for the government you need the visa from.
  5. If interested in Needlepoint/stitching might want to check out the Overlord Exhibit, this is more than a stitched piece. It's incredible! https://theddaystory.com/discover/overlord-embroidery/
  6. But Annaleah said above that Paxlovid had been ordered but not received by the ship yet. So hopefully it gets to all the ships soon.
  7. Disembarkation will be scheduled, but that will not matter if immigration/customs won't free to ship to disembark until they are ready to. So alot of it will depend are what port you end up at.
  8. Thank you for your reply. I meant Zambia as the second country we will be in , probably on a tour from Victoria Falls Hotel. Will USD work there also?
  9. We were on a cruise that stopped in Iceland and Greenland. We packed jackets that roll up very small but kept us warm and gloves and hats. While the bitter cold was in damp Faroe Islands and Orkney Islands, the sun was out for Greenland and Iceland, so chilly but sunny.
  10. When on viewing deck plan at a deck with cabins, on the left side of the screen will be a legend below where you see the deck and ship name. Appear to be a little different for different ships, but you need to find the legend for the suites and will see what all the symbols mean.
  11. We have done some AZ excursions and enjoyed them, and felt worth the money. We have also done a local walking excursion which was also enjoyable. It really depends on the port. With a private tour, there is no guarantee that the ship will wait for you if there is trouble getting back and arrive late.
  12. mdunne48 - it sounds like you had no issues with getting luggage at LHR. Great idea to stay in Bath, I think that is what I will look into on a cruise out of Southampton. Thanks for the "live" , I do enjoy reading them.
  13. I was looking for a Choice excursion with a private car at a port and there wasn't one listed, and my TA got a quote for me.
  14. I can't list the reservations dates for all the cabin types, but you can see what you get for your certain reservation on your booking. There are also some priority in reservations based on your Seven Seas Society level. Some people will say that you want to be in Compass Rose the night of the Captain's reception, because there is a really great menu that night. The Captain's reception (pre COVID) usually is the second night. I look at the itinerary and the excursions we have to help me plan the nights I want to eat in a specialty restaurant. If our excursion is a long one, I wouldn't plan on a specialty restaurant that night because we may be too tired for a really nice dinner and serving.
  15. Those that are using these in upcoming travel, it would be great to hear of any experience with them.
  16. Our one cruise so far on Azamara didn't seen to have much of a boutique for shopping., and that may have been the time of the year. On another cruise line I was spending down OBC and bought some terribly expensive nail polish, got home and it was some of the best nail polish I have ever used. I have been unable to find it anyplace, not even on line) so will have to save some OBC incase I can find it on our next cruise.
  17. Before our cruise leaving out of Cape Town we will be going to Victoria Falls. I feel I will not have a problem getting South African Rand, but feel I need to research to get currency for Zimbabwe and Zambezi. Will I be able to get both of these currencies at an ATM in Victoria Falls Airport?
  18. If my memory serves me (pre-covid) Navigator Prime 7 was used for overflow from LaVeranda for breakfast and lunch There are also usually appetizers served in the Observation/Galileo's before dinner. IMO what restaurants are open for lunch will depend on how many passengers.
  19. There was another thread that mentioned the fact that Club Continent did not have access to the area in the front of the ship. This was in the list of benefits at the time we booked, but don't see it now. This concerns me some. The item about the included bottles being changed from 4 small bottles to one large bottle can be the result of supply. Here in the US some liquors are only coming in one size due to supply issues, so this may go back to previous.
  20. We will leave our hotel at checkout time (11:00) and head to the ship. We usually get on soon after we get to the waiting area (pre-covid). When we get onboard we have had no trouble finding a table in the pool grill where we have lunch and a couple of drinks n]and our cabins then become ready. I would be too anxious to sightsee before getting to the ship.
  21. Fingers crossed, looks like our trip will happen, so I have some questions We are scheduled for a pre-cruise trip to Victoria Falls before we board Voyager . Are there any established norms about what to wear for dinner in the evenings? Also, any tips on packing since we will probably send one suitcase to ship and keep smaller one with us, and the weight limits for carry-ons? Besides the falls - any other areas not to be missed while we have some free time? Looks like we will be able to get SA Rand at an ATM in Johannesburg airport, anyone with experience with this? Will we be able to use Rand in Zimbabwe for tips/souvenirs? In Cape Town - any not to be missed at the Victoria and Albert Waterfront area? Any other recommendations
  22. I have not found Grolsch, places around me are not prone to have more than one brand of NA. All the places started with O'Douls and now they are gradually changing to something else. I found a Guinness NA up in Wisconsin, which was good.
  23. You did miss out on not having the Caramel, popcorn, chocolate etc sundae. When we were in P7 I understood it to be a large dessert and asked that it be split between the two of us. Well we each got a sundae that was about 3/4 of a complete sundae and enjoy every bit of it.
  24. It seems the Heineken sales force was very, very active in the US. Once it showed up, it seemed it was in every place I went. Even in places that said to me multiple times even though they had O'Douls on the menu, they didn't have any NA. St. Pauli Girl NA is one of the best I can find in US grocery stores but doesn't show up in many restaurants or bars.
