  1. The eggplant pasta roll is sooo good. No need to spend more money on upcharge.
  2. Wow! That's pretty cool. I'm not a huge football fan, but promised my son and his friends I'd take them to the parade that day. I remember Mike as stomping around looking pissed at the players a lot.
  3. You're braver than me, and I live here LOL. I haven't ridden Joe Metro (old school slang for the bus) in years. And I rode the light rail once to go downtown for the Seahawks SuperBowl win parade. I still have PTSD from that ride.
  4. If you're wanting to stay in Seattle for a few days after the cruise and you don't want to spend a lot of time in traffic or commuting you don't want to stay near the airport. It's at least a 30-40 min drive from Downtown Seattle. On the other side of that coin, the light rail is cheap and reliable to get to downtown from the airport and the airport hotels are a 1/3 of the price. It just eats up a lot of time getting back and forth and the light rail goes through some sketchier parts of town.
  5. If she can't eat them for health reasons, then treat them like an allergy. Enter them as allergies with Princess AND make sure to talk to the Head Waiter as well. The advice given by memoak is good. They can make accomodations to the following night menu ahead of time for you. You can contact the Princess Dietary Needs Dept. at this email address with your Booking number, names and date of sailing. They will get back to you on what dietary needs you require. dietaryrequest@princesscruises.com
  6. Just to clarify on this slightly, the 200 pp deposit on a comped cruise is NON-refundable, but comes back to you on the ship as OBC. And it is also non-transferrable, so you can't move the deposit to a new booking either if you decide to cancel the cruise.
  7. Wow, that was the minimum? I thought you upbid to increase your chances. Congrats on getting your upgrade! It's always nice to have fresh air and a large window!

  9. There is also a new discount bus service that is operating under Greyhound called FlixBus. I believe it used to previously be called BoltBus. It leaves from the Pacific Central Station in Vancouver ( which is easily accessible on the EXPO line right from Canada Place across the street) and ends in the International District in Seattle. It makes roughly 4 stops on the way back including at the border. Cost was about 28 dollars 1 way. There is Wi-Fi and a bathroom on board. As previously mentioned bags come off and must clear customs then get back on bus. Great budget way to travel between Seattle and Vancouver for the able bodied. Mobility impaired travelers would find this bus difficult to navigate.
  10. A small section of the casino is smoke free, but it's pointless really as it wafts everywhere. Tons of 1 cent machines but the minimums on the older machines are at least 40-50 cents a spin and some of the newer machines are a dollar and up. Lots of machines to play for every taste. Even quarter and dollar machines. Don't play table games, so can't help there, sorry.
  11. Currently booked in an Inside cabin on the Lido deck on Discovery for the 10 day Sea of Cortez New Years cruise, which is my preferred location. But decided to throw my hat in the ring and bid on a Deluxe Obstructed Balcony. 95 pp was the minimum bid so that's what I put down. Highly unlikely my bid will be accepted, but figured I'd give it a shot anyway. I'm interested in those forward facing balconies on the bow of the ship and if I get one will feel like I won the lottery.
  12. It does look very similar. The only differences I can really see are there are some new starters and they added a few more traditional sides to the turkey dinner such as brussel sprouts, carmelized sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce. Maybe people asked for more of the traditional side items?
  13. I've done the Salty Dog twice. Once pre-Covid and once post Covid, both times on the Ruby. Pre-Covid it was a good value at 12.00 upcharge with a delicious Crab Cake on the menu. They took away the Crab Cake, subbed in a chicken sandwich and raised the price 6 dollars. And the beer on tap selection is abysmal for a Gastropub. I'll take a pass from now on and just go to Sabatinis for a few dollars more.
  14. Guests sailing during 2022 holiday season to experience a whole new holiday dining offering—including a new gourmet Thanksgiving menu Looks like Princess is rolling out updated Holiday Meal Menus. It's nice that they posted the Thanksgiving options, but wish they would have also posted Christmas and New Year's. https://www.princess.com/news/news_releases/2022/10/new-culinary-collection-of-holiday-menus-from-princess-cruises-kicks-off-holiday-season-in-grand-fashion.html
  15. I'm boarding her tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think. And just as an FYI, as long as things are clean, I'm not picky. I don't care about a few dents and dings, a little rust here or there, and if my ordered drink takes 10 minutes, I'm sure the bar staff are busy, not goofing around to make me wait.
  16. Lifelong Rentonite here... mine either.. other than to say that a rain forecast day may not even be rain but a heavy drizzly fog lol. Seattle has a thousand different variations on rain... that's why we don't tan, we rust.
  17. Thank you so much! That's great news for DH. He says thank you too!
  18. Sorry to piggyback on your question CU64, but I'm curious if anyone knows if any of the showers in the fitness center on S class have an accessible shower with a fold down seat? We've requested a shower stool for our stateroom as husband is non weight bearing for a broken heel, but our room is not an accessible cabin. It just occurred to me that an accessible shower stall in the fitness center may be much better for his showering needs.
  19. I just booked a last minute Alaska cruise thinking this testing thing was in the past. Silly me. Well, I've found an online site that lets me use the free tests the government mailed out and will proctor it for under 20 bucks. Sooo much easier than the testing hoops I jumped through once cruising restarted. Glad that we're starting to have easier and cheaper options at least.
  20. Chemmo, that's very helpful information and super informative. Thank you for the detailed reply!
  21. Does anyone know which pool on the Solstice has an accessibilty chair lift for the pool? Andif you've used it, how was the experience?
  22. Are you on the Discovery New Year's cruise? Have this same port on our itinerary.
