  1. Princess can advertise to families, but families aren't going to flock to Princess. The ships just don't have the amenities to keep kids busy and entertained for a week at a time.
  2. Have you tried using your phone? Mobile devices seem to be working fine.
  3. 2. Is there any beer on tap on the Discovery (or on any Princess ship, for future knowledge). The only place I'm aware of that has beer on tap is the Salty Dog Gastropub. According to their menu they have Strongbow Cider Heineken Newcastle Affligem Blonde available in 12 or 20 oz pours.
  4. You can book one person in a cabin as a solo, but you will have to pay 2 cruise fares for the solo supplement. You will only be charged one set of port taxes and fees. It's easy enough to add a second passenger later at which time you will be charged a second set of port taxes ad fees.
  5. Using the pool on a cruise is a big part of my cruise experience. I've sailed HAL, Princess, NCL, and Celebrity to Alaska. Celebrity wins hands down for their Adults only covered Solarium. But I'm booked on the Majestic next May to Alaska to try out the covered Hollywood Pool Club. It looks like an amazing space to relax.
  6. That happened to me because I mixed up a letter and number from my booking number. Maybe try again?
  7. They actually did try to upcharge it at the grill at one point. It obviously didn't take off well. Too bad really because it's a good burger. Much better than the hockey pucks at the grill.
  8. The most ironic part of this to me is that generally speaking the appetizers, soups and salads are almost better than the main entrees. I just get 3 starters and 1 entree to try and call it good.

    Help!

Just out of curiosity, why did you bid if you didn't want the upgrade?
  10. Boarding in Seattle usually starts around 11 am. Suite/Elite and Platinum board early, then passengers with special needs, then they call out general boarding groups. Lunch is served in the MDR from 12-1:30. So plenty of time to get on board and enjoy a leisurely lunch.
  11. Yes, because they're the only ones willing to gamble on a potential crappy location. 😉😉
  12. For anyone looking for a true "adults only" cruise experience, just book a Lifestyles cruise. Problem solved.
  13. I really miss the good old days when we all had to fill out the Noro questionnaire at the cruise terminal before checking in.
  14. Princess ships are lacking in the library department. I was recently on the Celebrity Solstice and THAT was a proper ships library.
  15. I need context here, because I don't think your version of elevator roulette and the one I just Googled are the same. 🤣🤣
  16. There is an embarkation lunch in the main dining room, but if you board early it may not be open yet. It opens at noon and it ends at 1:30. The International Cafe will also be open.
  17. They underestimated the drinking power of their cruisers with a beverage package LOL.
  18. I love the salmon at Embarkation lunch and the chilled fruit soups.
  19. Room service will not enter your room. They will knock and you will have to open the door. They won't even knock if you have the Do Not Disturb on the door. Wait times are around 15-30 mins depending on demand. The app will tell you when your order is on the way, but you can't track it to the door.
  20. Arrival groups is a joke. It's an attempt to spread out embarkation, but in reality most people ignore it and clog up the boarding area. Post Covid return to cruising even Platinum and Elite couldn't bypass the lines and were stuck in hours long lines. It's gotten better, but everyone still ignores those times.
  21. Some of the most noticeable things for me since the restart post-Covid. Pros: Muster done through the app or stateroom tv and individually at your pace. The ease of ordering with the Medallion app to have food or beverages delivered. The large variety of items available for delivery. Holy cow, there's a lot. The staff. Always working hard and striving to make your vacation enjoyable. Cons: Biggest con for me was removing the always available steak option from the MDR menu. Entertainment is lacking. They've scaled back the evening entertainment, and many times you'll see the same entertainers around the ship performing the same routine you saw the day before. Production shows have been slow to return, and many are the same recycled shows seen on the ships over and over. Otherwise Princess fills the bill with comedians, magicians, vocalists and ventriloquists. Many of whom are doing the same routine multiple nights. Fortuna Luck is annoying. (My personal opinion) Just get someone personable to run activities and get rid of this "personality character". Even the outfit is demeaning. Salty Dog Gatropub is a ripoff at 18 dollars. It wasn't even that great at 12 dollars, but at least it had a very nice crabcake. They removed that and added a chicken sandwich and veggie burger. MDR food in general. I know this is subjective, but it's been downgraded in quality A LOT. While it isn't terrible, obvious cuts have been made, and the quality just isn't there. I ordered something advertised as having crab, and it had surimi(imitation crab) instead. It was just awful. These are just some of my personal observations. I expect I'll be flamed by the cheerleaders. But I've been on 3 Princess cruises since the restart and 2 Celebrity cruises. I can assure you Celebrity didn't cut as many corners on coming back.
  22. Yes the drinks are covered. My personal fave is the Sandia en Fuego. My husband really enjoys the Vanilla Sky.
  23. Thanks Bemidji Ty! I'll certainly be bringing in 2023 with hearing loss apparently. Good thing hearing aids just went on sale OTC!
  24. Hahahahaha.. spiders..☠️☠️☠️ Great review. Going to be on Discovery over New Year's and that's my kind of DJ!
