  1. Yes. At least that’s what I’ve been noticing.
  2. There are offers for drinks on us anywhere that don’t require you to be in the casino to receive them.
  3. We did one out of Galveston and I was pleasantly surprised it started day 1 which cheers does not. I can’t remember though if it started right away or when the casino opened - I’m thinking when the casino opens.
  4. Sorry you had these issues. I’ve had AT&T forever and airplane mode has worked every time on tons of cruises including Luminosa last month. This includes using ship WIFI or just the ship app without WiFi. It must have unknowingly/accidentally came out of airplane mode. One additional thing to try in the future is to turn off data roaming. That way if you accidentally turn off airplane mode you won’t incure data charges.
  5. Was on Luminosa and this happened to person we were with. But he turned off airplane mode. That is when he was roaming and used data. He was all excited thinking he had cell service but while sailing it was using ship cellular and he got the message you spoke about. He did this multiple times and we kept telling him to leave it on airplane mode.
  6. with no gratuity $59.95/$64.95 = 92.7% so < 8% savings with gratuity $70.74/$76.64 = 92.7% so < 8% savings So same discount with or without gratuity and in both cases less than 8%. If you buy something for $100 with 10% savings you’d pay $90 right? $90/$100 = 90%. With say a 10% tax you’d pay $99 vs $110. You wouldn’t take the $11 savings and divide by $90 to say you got an 12.2% discount right? You’d say it was 99/110 which is 90% or 10% discount. So in this case you can’t take the savings including gratuities and divide by the $59 pre-cruise price to say it’s a 10% savings.
  7. So that’s your justification for the 10% savings being accurate? The 10% savings is cheers pre-purchase vs cheers on board purchase. It has nothing to do with cheers vs non-cheers. That is a different conversation and of course could be sizable depending on type of drink, number of alcohol drinks, number of non-alcohol drinks and as you pointed out grats.
  8. Ok but what does that have to do with pre purchase being 10% savings vs buying on board? I was just responding that I’m in the camp it’s not 10%.
  9. I’m in the camp that it’s not a 10% savings. You can’t take the $5.90 savings and divide by the $59 cost. You’d have to use the $64. But if you use AARP gift cards then you can save more than 10%, approximately 18%.
  10. If you both want to be on the internet at the same time you have to have two plans. But you can easily share one by logging off one device and logging into the other. No discount for multiple devices.
  11. And I’ve been on many a cruises where one of us at the table had a different paper menu. Mistakes happen with paper and electronic menus.
  12. I really liked the daily special menu we had the first couple of times on MG. Too bad they changed it. It’s not as great of a dinner option in my opinion.
  13. Are you sure DFW? Most shuttles would just be from Houston airports, not Dallas.
  14. I’m not sure still in the menu. They switched up the menu a bunch since the launch.
  15. You will have a naturalist on board that will do presentations throughout the week. All other entertainment and food same as Caribbean.
  16. We had one on the Panorama last year and it was last day in punchline and it was packed. Also had one a couple weeks ago on Luminosa. That was in the main theater in the evening so easier to get a seat.
  17. Did your elite include fun play? Some do and some don’t and the amount varies by person. Does your other offer include drinks Everywhere? Depending on that and your fun play you can decide if the perks are worth it to you. I think there is decent value to the parking/car service, excursion, liquor in room (although elite gets drinks anywhere), etc. But, some casino offers offer higher fun play amounts.
  18. Ah, ok. We just got off Luminosa. It was ok. Not a fan of the layout but had a good cruise. Crew was very good. Burger place was almost exactly like guys without the donkey sauce or Chipotle Mayo. Burrito place seemed exactly like Blue Iguana. no JiJi’s but did have an Asian buffet everyday that had good choices. we had plenty of ice stacked daily in our cabin.
  19. On MG you can use the self serve soda dispensers or go to a bar with the drink package.
  20. It should be either. Can also be hotel to cruise if you come in a day early. Just one ride before, one after.
  21. We’ve always picked our room. Haven’t upgraded but I believe you can.
  22. Not our experience. Can always get a water along with an alcohol drink. Maybe some bartenders are different but didn’t think that was policy.
  23. Luminosa today… Craps, Roulette, BJ - $10 3 Card, heads up hold’em - $5 BJ Lucky Ladies either $5 or $10.
