  1. Use the same credit card that your husband used.
  2. Years ago, on a Princess ship, I met a man who claimed to be the second largest seller of orchids on Ebay. He used the ship as a way to meet and stay in contact with his suppliers on islands in the Caribbean. I have no doubt that he took the cruise as a business expense. Seems legit to me.
  3. If you want to put a stop to all of the unwanted PVP calls, go to your personal information and find the part that asks about your previous cruises. Scroll to the bottom, I think, and there should be a box to check (check it) that asks if you use a travel professional to handle your bookings. That should stop everything else. Note: even if this action is untrue remember that the PVP who has pestered you is also untruthful about how your future bookings will be handled. Goose and gander stuff.
  4. Not hard, it was in the app where our expenses were listed.
  5. The tiny platform on Deck 7 ....is their offering as a Promenade. You can see the entire platform from above. The old and very popular promenade went all the way around the ship. In Alaska, on a Grand class ship, I spent many, many hours whale watching on the Promenade deck at the very front of the ship.
  6. Last time we were in tampa there were several shuttle vans taking folks to the airport. Cannot remember any names, sorry.
  7. Princess built the latest ships, regal, royal, discovery, sky, etc without an outdoor promenade. BIG mistake by the folks that you refer to. Little to no market survey, huge quantity of complaints. Interestingly the next generation of Princess ships, beginning with the new Sun Princess, have complete outdoor promenades.
  8. I don't want to spoil this pity party but on the Sky Princess, last week, Dec 9-16, our Plus package allowed us two casual dining options PER DAY. And our folio print outs that we received after disembarked in Ft Lauderdale make the same note. 2 per day.
  9. Is there a reason your company will not let you use a vpn?
  10. If you are on Princess and using their app for your shipboard activities, the 'ship time' is displayed in the upper left corner of the app's home page. For the ports that you described the ship time will, as others have said, be EST until we adjust to EDT in March.
  11. Do you, perhaps, think that you will save money by booking direct? Most here will attest to the fact that this never happens. In fact, some TAs will discount your fare which will NEVER happen with a cruise line or any of their minions.
  12. Why would it work? CarnivalCorp is the source of the SHB (not Princess) and they clearly say 'no' on the investor site.
  13. You will need to take an Uber or taxi from the ship in PE to the TriRail station. No need to stop at the airport. As for clumsy, maybe so, we have traveled enough that our baggage is pretty minimal. We took the TriRail to MIA and then flew to Buenos Aires to board a HAL ship to sail around South America. For us it was not all that difficult. Others may vary. IMO, a great way to beat the traffic!
  14. Your medallion, regardless of shipping, will be waiting for your when you check in for your cruise. If you somehow board the ship you can go to the purser and that person will make it all well.
  15. All medallions are shipped from Singapore via a contract with a Chinese shipper. US tracking shows them landing in Illinois and then to LA (wheee) and after they marinate in LA for a day or two they ship out, probably on an air shipment, to a location nearby. We received ours about 1.5 weeks before sail date.
  16. There is a post on another forum, not on CC that someone received a mini as part of their fully paid upgrade but then received an email that took it all away. Anyone hear anything like this? I am also on this sailing.....and looking thru my Green Line instructions it is quite clear that there are NO guidelines on when to board a Princess sailing. It is kinda get her when you get here...and we'll get you on the ship.
  17. Having read all of these posts and this last one from the OP, I would add that the Royal class ships of Princess have no oceanview cabins. There are a few TAs that seem to offer an oceanview cabin, but if you book one you will almost certainly have a balcony with an obstructed view (like some part of a lifeboat). Still, there are inside cabins, and one that we were in was quite roomy and enjoyable. Personally I am not a fan of the Royal class ship, partly due to the lack of a Promenade issue, However it is worth noting that the naysayers seem to have won....the new Sun Princess and that class of ship has a walk around promenade.
  18. There is no shuttle from the port to FLL. You will need a taxi or uber, and if you go with one of those you might as well take it clear to the TriRail station. If you haven't ridden TriRail for awhile, the very last stop is MIA, you get off, up the escalator, follow signs to the shuttle train to the MIA terminals. Easy.
  19. Which cruise line?...I seem to remember that Royal Carib parking is a little more than the others.
  20. I have a form filled out for our next cruise that states this "the Future Cruise Deposit, and will be automatically refunded if not applied to a new booking created within two years from date of purchase" And I wlll add that if the one year change is true, Princess will see a drastic drop in their loyalty participation.
  21. Can you not call your AAA agent and ask? Their services are not cheap, so I would expect some bang for my buck.
  22. Overbooking is a thing....when it happens CC members post about it and the fabulous FCC's and OBC they receive if they are willing to change their whole vacation plan. Try doing a search on CC for overbooking. It is also so rare that I have seen video reports on the evening news about it.
  23. Not sure how that works...if your card is compromised, there is zero liability for you. A little inconvenience while you wait for a new card. but you are not out any $$. And, how will you avoid those hackers once you actually enter your CC info into their system once you are onboard?
  24. Methinks Viking is offering the 3% as an incentive to avoid their Credit Card processing fees, which is often in the 3-5% range. There are reports that using a credit card in some foreign countries will result in a surcharge in the 3-5% range. Still, 3% is 3%, but I agree with most on this posting....I like the protections that using a Credit Card offers....and gasp in horror at the idea of using an ATM card.
