  1. Another cruise ship parking lot today in Nasssu. Rob
  2. Santa’s helpers are out and about today.
  3. Autocorrect has its own mind for spelling…lol
  4. Most interesting feature of The Lounge (ex-casino) is this really neat model of Crystal Harmony. The Lounge was used for check-.in yesterday. Rob
  5. Selection in the Bistro as varied as usual, but it’s not self serve. Not sure if this arrangement is permanent or a temporary experiment. Seems to work fine, but then again there’s only 350+/- onboard. Rob
  6. Cardomon infused vodka, a very small splash of galleano, sprinkled with cinnamon and a few other aromatics. All the bartenders can make it, but it’s still the best when prepared by its inventor. 😄 Rob
  7. Yesterdays and todays activities, for those that may be interested. Rob
  8. Karma camelion martinis with its inventor, Abzul in the Avenue. And I requested Jim's favorite, Hallelujah, from the pianist. Plus indescribable other-worldly pizza at 11:30p. Crystal is back. And then some. Rob
  9. Nobu was amazing tonite. 2.5 hours. Uni. Toro. Lobster tempura. At least 6 carafes of sake. Wagyu sashimi. Miso cod. Most impressive.
  10. Back onboard today, too. Staff we haven’t seen in 4.5 years addressed us by name. Impressive. And we haven’t left the pier yet. Umi tonight. Since the OP graciously offered others to supplement this thread, I may just do that. Cheers. Muster drill shortly. Rob & Jim
  11. And our lunch today, too. Nice to be back onboard. Rob & Jim

    Shoehorns?

Well, there is actually a "shoe tree" in Nevada... https://maps.roadtrippers.com/us/fallon-nv/points-of-interest/the-shoe-tree-fallon Rob

    Osteria

Looks tasty. Thanks for the pics & the menus. 😄😄🍷🍷
  14. 1. Try to have everything possible sent electronically; 2. Arrange electronic, automatic recurring payments for typical bills (utilities, insurance, etc.); 3. Coordinate a periodic mail-check with a close neighbor or relative; 4. Depending on how your mail is delivered, place a collection container to catch junk mail and irrelevant advertisements (our mail slot is in our garage door); 5. Repeat suggestion #3. Rob
  15. Received our check today, too. Along with the letter that indicates additional funds may (or may not) be distributed during 2024. Thank everyone on CC that posts relevant information. I was not expecting anything until I read the comments posted last week and today's posts about the checks-literally-in-the-mail. Rob
  16. Cabins 7078, 7079, 7080 & 7081 are green-colored on the current deck plans as ADA accessible cabins. Not certain what category their pricing is, though. Your TA may be able to obtain a quote. Rob https://www.crystalcruises.com/ship/serenity?sm=undefined&d=7 Crystal Serenity deck 7.pdf
  17. ADA = Americans With Disabilities Act. The OP was enquiring about the wheelchair accessible cabins.
  18. Correct. The "destination fees" are included in the invoice total cruise fare, but are listed as a separate note at the bottom of the invoice. The specific wording says "The cruise fare is inclusive of $xxxx.xx per person destination fees. All fare savings or benefits are calculated net of destination fees." In short, no one gets a totally "free" (i.e. really a "pre-paid") cruise by using the Initiative credits. At a minimum, one has to pay at least the "destination fees" associated with any particular sailing. Total new cost depends on the cabin category selected. Rob
  19. Adrian, thank you for taking the time to write down your thoughts. Very nicely composed and objective observations. On a related (or unrelated note) about the "old fashioned" hardware references - we totally understand. We were very loyal travelers on the Rotterdam V and QE2, probably sailing on both ships long after their "pull-dates". The staff, the atmosphere onboard and the feeling of comfort/coming home was important. Same qualities as you have noted about Symphony. But both ships did finally reach the end of their commercially viable sailing careers, as will both Symphony and Serenity. Hopefully their replacements will sail sooner, rather than later. Rob
  20. Thank you for the link. The per diems appear to be in the $650-$2000+/-/day range, depending on the vessel and its itinerary. These are pricey voyages to expensive locations. Rob
  21. Just watched. An evening NYC departure is always a moving experience. Whether onboard or vicariously ashore. Thanks for the weblink. Rob
  22. Were were on a b2b2b on Serenity in 2019. We were able to walk from the ship to the port exit and explore Civitavecchia on our own. If you do not choose to explore Rome on your own or via a Crystal shorex, we did find enough to keep us busy in Civitavecchia for several hours. We enjoyed a delicious lunch ashore, explored several churches, the theater, the local shopping street and the very large open air market. We'd been to Rome several times before and we chose not to make the long commute to/from Rome during this port visit. Rob

    White Night

Off topic here again, but back-in-the-pre-Carnival-days of the privately-owned Costa, the toga night mantra was "no sheet - no eat". That last evening in the dining room was wild. It really helped if you were buzzed. Very buzzed... Now, back to the original programming... Rob 🤣🤣😁
