No matter the breakdown, I typically drop a twenty to the room steward since we have direct contact. Then I will tip a dollar per drink if they give me the receipt to write it on

Security needs to monitor the foul language
EngIceDave replied to BETSY DOLL's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Cursing is a modifier. "Modifiers are words, phrases, and clauses that affect and often enhance the meaning of a sentence. Modifiers offer detail that can make a sentence more engaging, clearer, or specific. The simplest form of a modifier would be an adjective or adverb." -
Hurricanes suck and happen, but the best thing about hurricanes is they don't pop up out of no where and surprise you. There's always time to change plans, cancel or itinerary change. Part of the "Tropical Experience." Inconvenient, sure, but certainly safer.

Recent food experiences on the "spirit" class ships?
EngIceDave replied to William142's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Just finished 22 days on Luminosa, a hybrid Spirit class ship. "Inedible" is very subjective. Stuff I didn't care for, sure, but it was all edible and many enjoyed things I did not. Lasagna comes to mind for me, I do not care for Carnival's version, the bechamel is too thin and odd. Others loved it. It's like arguing Carrabba's vs Applebee's. Best food is the pizza. Was same on Celebration back in Feb as well. The pizza is the hottest, freshest thing you can get, made right before your eyes. Buffet was fine, nothing special, not even the Aussie bacon was special. MDR is subjective Deli was ok, nothing "fresh," special or made to order. -

Valid point. The adult only area is where someone should be able to speak freely without offending young tender ears. -

What if they're just loud in general? We've all seen those folks, the ones who start talking or laughing so loud, it's practically screaming. How about them? That's annoying? This is all a slippery slope. Just leave people be. Move if you can't deal with it. Bring it to attention of security if you want, but don't get mad when they don't do much more than "keep an extra eye on them." There's no way to measure and what's too much for you might not bother me at all. -

Problem comes in the measure. What kind of behavior? What about just loud in general? Yelling voice people are totally annoying. So how much is too much? Who decides? How is it decided? -

I am a foul mouth. I admit it, but I curb my language in unfamiliar or mixed company. -

Let's be realistic, a cursing drunk Karen is gonna escalate. You know it, I know it. No one wants it to escalate, especially CS, who's gonna hear it. So they ignore it, as should you. It's their vacay also and if acting unrefined and uncouth is how they're comfortable, you can't do much other than ignore them. -

The whole thing with drinking is to loosen up and lower inhibitions. Help to relax and chill. It is because of this relaxed attitude and lower inhibitions, people tend to get louder and also relax that internal censor that minds our tongues. But always remember, "in vino veritas." -
Port Canaveral is going to have a capacity issue soon.

I overhear people talking their stupid politics. Can I go get a security person and tell them to tell the other passenger to stop talking about their politics and political preferences while within earshot of me? I also hate the NY Jets, if someone is talking about the NY Jets, I am calling security.- 152 replies

Does Anybody Have Experience Cruising With A Service Dog?
EngIceDave replied to Rick&Jeannie's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
When we were on Celebration in February, some woman had a small frenchie and didn't seem to "service doggy" to me. -
Looking for suggestions for early morning coffee
EngIceDave replied to tytanbri's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I prefer Nespresso. A bolder espresso type of coffee. If "regular joe," I am ok with Keurig. French press is good, really good, coffee, but as you said, too fiddly to mess with and clean. -

EngIceDave replied to tytanbri's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
The lido coffee is always terrible. I strongly suggest bringing along single packs of instant coffee. Before you poo-poo it, this isn't the old days of instant coffee, its pretty good now and Nescafe has it dialed in. They used to have them with the sugar and such, but another thing lost post covid. -
Those who book with Casino offers...
EngIceDave replied to Clearwater's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Here's a different question for casino people; Anyone ever ask the Carnival Ocean Players Club people if they can rate (or refer) your play for cruises on other Carnival owned lines, like Princess or Holland? -
Want a regular ice cream, not that soft serve mix? Go to Java Blue and order a milkshake, UNSHAKED...LOL. Put it into a big paper cup They use regular ice cream for milkshakes. Wifey-poo hates soft serve Also, grown ups can get banana splits, they use real ice cream, not the soft serve.

LIVE- The World's Longest Trip Report (Luminosa 4/13 - 5/4)
EngIceDave replied to EngIceDave's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We're a pretty keep to ourselves couple. Not into bars, we don't drink. So we kind of keep to ourselves. If we ever saw anyone with a mask, we respected it and gave them a wide berth...maybe they were afraid of us or we should be afraid of them....So, plenty of space and empty elevator for those folks. -
