  1. The tips are included in all drinks that fall within the limit of the drink package. If you purchase a $12 drink you will be charged $1 for the drink and 18 cents for the gratuity. This really isn't that hard.
  2. Gotta Be...I have been dealing with this since the Koningsdam came out and for the most part all I drink is pop so I would consider myself somewhat of an expert on it. It used to be regular coke but it is now Coke Zero. The coke card gets you fountain the SBP gets you cans.
  3. I don't disagree. It all started when the Koningsdam came out and they put that machine on deck 9 or 10 or wherever it is.
  4. The HIA package includes canned soda. The unlimited coca cola package includes fountain drinks only. So if you are in the casino and want a soda and do not wish to go upstairs they will give you a glass of soda from the gun. With the signature beverage package you will get a can of soda.
  5. I was on that cruise last year, The casino does not get alot of play on the cruises in Europe. The tables will close down around 11pm or so. They will keep the machines open later. Til around 2am. If you hit a jackpot that late you need to fill out a form that you get at the casino cage. You will get your money the next day. As for the casino being open if i remember correctly they must be 2 hours out of Amsterdam. It is slow getting out of there as you have to go through the locks. The casino will be open everyday approximtely 30 minutes after they leave the ports.
  6. I had a taste for pancakes the other day so I went to the local IHOP. Picked a bad time as there was a party of 23. Two tables. One of 12 and one of 11. Ran those girls ragged with refills, to go containers and everything else you can imagine. $500 check and left a $5 tip. Those 2 girls were in tears. This issue gets fixed when people do not remove the tips or tip the proper amount. I don't care if that amount is 10% or 15% or whatever. 1% will not cut it. I have stood in line at guest services waiting for my friend to cash in some Euros so he could play in the casino. We heard pax basically bragging how they are saving themselves $400 by removing the tips and being quite happy about it thinking everyone else was stupid for not removing the tips. And I can pretty much assure you that they are the most demanding of the pax onboard. If you can afford to leave a little extra please do. If you can't afford to leave extra that is fine. But if you choose to leave nothing then stay home.
  7. The key is you worked in the US. I am still waiting for a wheelchair to the gate at Schipol from last June. I am also not sure what the ADA has to do with anything in a foreign country. I would have taken the sure thing and spent the $100 and rented the wheelchair.
  8. Some pax remove them on the first day!
  9. You are relatively close to some of the largest offloading ports in the world. My product would come into those ports and due to it having to be shipped to the midwest get delayed anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months before it left the port. I could care less about the politics behind it. I just want to take care of my customers. So unless you have hands on experience in moving containers to the US and then to a final destination inside the US from several different countries please stop speculating. My main problem now and has been for several months is moving that product inside the US. This is a problem for all as my competitors are stuck. They are calling me product.
  10. Finally someone who gets logistical issues. And contrary to everyone here who thinks all should be fine by now post covid there are still MAJOR issues.
  11. I am speculating restaurant chairs to be a major culprit!
  12. I didn't spend $45,000 on slots. I actually rolled $180,000 thru the slot machines as you get 1 point for every $2 you put in. Obviously you don't lose on every spin. I hit some jackpots and did decent on the blackjack table. The Neptune Suite was comped by the casino. I lost less than the cost of the NS if I had to pay for it so to me I came out ahead.
  13. I think hundreds may be a little bit of an exaggeration. There was just a huge slot tournament that ended Saturday on the NS. Most anyone wanting to take advantage of a casino cruise would have been on the NS.
  14. Several of us on here receive casino promotions. I am not sure what you mean by reimbursed.
  15. That player, at 40,000 points, put $80,000 into the slot machines. I have no idea whether they won or lost. I would venture to guess they lost somewhere in the area of $5000 to $7000 unless they hit a couple of decent size jackpots. In order for HAL to remain competitive with their competition they do need to offer free cabins and free play to get the gamblers on their cruises. Some of HAL's bigger players receive $5000 to $10,000 in free play along with Neptune Suites.
  16. Below is an example from a casino player that just got off a cruise. You receive 1 point for every $2 played. So she rolled $74,000 thru the machines on her cruise. Most of the cruises you can choose are between 6 and 14 days unless HAL offers a special event cruise. The cruises are limited to the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, Panama Canal, Coastal, Canada/New England, Europe and Australia/New England. The casino offers are definitely diminishing for most players.
  17. I would venture to guess that the majority of HAL cruisers and particularly those on this board are of the age where we have experienced hard times. I am also of the belief, and I am 100% positive on this, that you only live once. I want to enjoy that one life I have as much as I can.
  18. I got off the NS Feb 18th and am still nursing a small scrape on my foot that came from the backend of a small earring that was in the Seaview Pool. My DR was all over me. It was one of the first things she discussed at length with me when I was diagnosed. Never go barefoot. Did I listen? Hell no. I will listen now. I am just glad it wasn't worse.
  19. Watershoes are not stupid if you are a diabetic. Not stupid at all.
  20. The Lido has a station open from 10:30pm to 11:30pm for late night food.
  21. I would love to be on a cruise with you. A wealth of knowledge and common sense. My wife loves your posts also.
  22. If I buy two drinks with the 2nd being 50% off at $11 a drink it costs $16.50 plus the tip. If I buy 2 drinks with the 2nd being 25% off the cost is $19.25. An additional $2.75 per drink. To me this is not the end of the world. And if it was to the other 2800 other people onboard it would take the Ocean Bar bartenders and servers 12 hours to serve all the pax who wanted to take advantage of the offer. And you are stating that you have not bought a drink on this cruise yet because of the happy hour discount. You're on vacation. Have a few drinks and enjoy yourself.
  23. It's not my theory. It's what the food and beverage manager told me. Here's my theory. I am not going to let an extra $20 charge or so for drinks a day bother me one iota.
