  1. Do you have to have a 'doctor's excuse' to bring those things on board. If you can't bring on a coffee maker....
  2. That site is quite reputable. I'm sure they're wrong at time just like the cruise lines and cruise critic are.
  3. Where is that heart emoji? Thanks!
  4. I am so glad that I don't have to cruise on those ships. I like the ones where they treat us like adults.
  5. Oh, good grief. Anything can be outdated. Not wrong. Outdated. I see it on cruise lines sites. Everywhere.
  6. So how would they know if you're drinking wine in your cabin?
  7. Here's something from The Points Guy, a reputable site. But it could change quickly. https://thepointsguy.com/guide/cruise-ship-bring-your-own-alcohol-rules/
  8. Thanks. I was only familiar with the kind that you roll up and force the air out.
  9. Our awake cabin time is almost exclusively between whatever daytime activity we did, on or off the ship, and heading 'towards' dinner. Just stretched out on the bed or sofa and relax.
  10. Great post! We've done a few phenomenal escorted tours (Turkey, Israel and SE Asia spring to mind) and some where I wanted to scream. We're done with those. I'm thinking what you describe has having a base and going out on our own is what we may want to do. Yeah, back in our 'youth' AND no cell phones or internet, it was fine to arrive somewhere and find a place to stay. Not so much now. And a real plus to cruising.
  11. Are you talking about compression bags? We've used one for my knee length, down, Northface jacket for really cold. It also worked great for dirty laundry. So are you saying that your clothes don't come out wrinkled? That's pretty amazing. Let me know please.
  12. Just to give a perspective on my temp 🙂 I don't consistently stop wearing shorts - at home - until the weather is regularly under 50!!! 🙂
  13. She mentioned jacketS - plural. If it's just for fashion I'd take one. I also travel - land or sea - with two pairs of shoes. For specialty restaurants Bob wears a long sleeved 'dress shirt.' Not solid color, a check or stripe.
  14. We were 'gifted' balconies/verandas twice. Waste a time for us. We hate the heat so rarely went out on them. I just tired at some point later in the say. I'm a tested out 'extreme extrovert' so I tire more easily than some. Just like to stretch out on the bed and read/edit photos/rarely nap.
  15. That would make a huge difference. Our cruises, except for an Alaskan, have been European and South American/Antarctica so always flying to make connections. Tiring...and it adds to the cost...except after covid (no flying but accumulating points) when we'll hopefully be flying 'free' for quite a while.
  16. That doesn't sound like fun! Re Chico's I had to chuckle when I read this: What age is Chico's clothing for? Chico's is a store for older consumers, 40+ — and there is no mistaking the fact observing the customers and the merchandise.Jul 9, 2014 Chico's Reviving and Disrupting - The Robin Report The Robin Report https://therobinreport.com › chicos-reviving-and-disrupti...
  17. With you on all of this. And especially the UA Star Alliance family.
  18. I recently read that a tour company is now doing some where you base in one city and go out on "excursions" each day rather than long days driving. Sounds good to me.
  19. Always. For all the practical reasons. Plus so many of our starts and finishes are places that we want to visit or revisit.
  20. Oh, we went there. FAR preferred it. And, hey, others, they're right.
  21. My husband traveled up to 85% of the time on business and together we've visited six continents. Not ONCE have we lost a bag. NOT ONCE.
