  1. The classic basketball / sports court is completely missing because of this "Park 19 Top-Deck Family Activity Zone". That's a no go for me. 😨
  2. Princess brand was built over so many years. And within months, it will lose its unique characteristic.
  3. Looks like pretty good value to money - other than Sabatinis.
  4. Yes. And these are the 2023 prices in Norway (example restaurant in Skarsvag, North Cape) : 750,- NOK is about 70 USD. Meal with sides, including tax. Fresh from the boat. So way less expensive than in Alaska.
  5. They do up to 5 shows per day, depending on the number of ships in port.
  6. My guess is Skagway Brewing Company. 😁
  7. Rope ladder. Just wow. If something goes wrong, the captain is 1st of charge on this.
  8. I'm pretty sure the menu from 2018 is outdated. Back then, there were no shortages and sky rocketing prices for Alaska King Crab. Don't think King Crab is on the menu now. Not for 30$ upcharge.
  9. On the last sea day northbound Vancouver to Whitttier, you will enter Prince William Sound at around mid-afternoon. Some scenery to see here. The ship will then do scenic cruising at College Fjord / Harvard Glacier usually from 6PM to 8PM. So untill mid-afternoon, there is not much to miss on the open sea passage.
  10. Yes, it's new since a few years. But even Royal Class ships can go pretty close to Hubbard Glacier - if the ice drift allows it.
  11. Yes, currency in Portugal and Spain is the Euro.
  12. That's not Glacier Bay, that is a Princess excursion available at Hubbard Glacier. https://www.princess.com/ports-excursions/hubbard-glacier-scenic-cruising-alaska-excursions/hubbard-glacier-and-wilderness-exploration
  13. JourneyView shows all the events on the ship on the Apple/Android app, even before cruise. And yes, JourneyView is unreliable until about 1 week before the cruise. lol.
  14. Ok, so you will stay at an airport hotel in LGA? Yes, Princess offers transfers airport to ship. Give them a call. If you are 4 or more pax, a private transfer could be less expensive.
  15. Caribbean Princess will depart from Brooklyn Terminal on Aug 14th. https://nycruise.com/brooklyn-terminal/schedule-bct/ LGA to Brooklyn cruise terminal makes no sense if you fly in 2 days early. Just look for a nice hotel in Manhattan.
  16. I watched Marinetraffic yesterday, It looked like the Baranof Wind took the passengers. That's Glacier Bay's day cruise vessel, operation from Bartlet Cove. So most likely they were taken to Glacier Bay Lodge or Gustavus airport. Edit: Your last photo shows the Baranof Wind. 😄
  17. Yep. That's what happened. We were delayed deboarding that day and nearly everyone missed their flights, etc. On that day, Princess lost a lot of money, that's for sure. It took 5 months to get it back from Princess corporate. The evening before, we were overtaken by the P&O Iona on the way back. The Iona made it on time into Southampton that morning, before the channel was closed for the regatta. The Sky didn't. Max speed of the Sky was 19 knots that evening. The regatta is a yearly event for decades.
  18. Interesting. Because the same thing happened to us on the Sky Princess just one year ago on the 14 day Norway North Cape sailing on June 11th. What a coincidence... The captain (also Marco Fortezze) had made reference to a generator problem which was impacting on the vessel’s speed. On the first leg from Southampton we arrived in Haugesund at 12:30PM instead of 8:00AM. Shore Excursions (independend and from Princess) had to be cancelled. So no Akrafjord and no Langfoss waterfall for us.
  19. Room service Pizza is available from 11.00am – 11.00pm, not 24 hours.
  20. Well, never order "Catch of the day" on a cruise ship. Think of it, it doesn't make sense, right? 😉
