NCL dropped a destination weeks before cruising
www3traveler replied to Ruttrowg's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
If NCL has reason to believe that a port of call is unsafe for passengers, YES they will cancel it. They have canceled calls to Acapulco on a number of occasions. I have been on Panama Canal cruises where Acapulco was canceled. -
Anyone remember entertainer Jim Badger?

WOW!! How very sad. Prayers for all of his family and friends. -
Good Morning If you go to the Seattle Space Needle Panorama webcam, you can see the Encore currently docked at Pier 66. The webcam gives a real good idea of how big Seattle really is. As the camera swings to the South, you will see 2 stadiums. The first one (the uncovered one) is the home of the Seattle Seahawks (football) and other one (covered) is the home of the Seattle Mariners (baseball).

Norwegian sails from Pier 66 on Alaskan Way in downtown Seattle. Be warned Alaskan Way is a very very busy street. The terminal is at the bottom of Bell Street (very steep hill). Since the Bliss will dock in Victoria late in the afternoon or early evening leaving about midnight, I would stay on board ship. I usually stay on board and make sure everything is ready for disembarkation in the morning. Enjoy you cruise and your stay in Seattle.

NCL dropped a destination weeks before cruising
www3traveler replied to Ruttrowg's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
They can change itineraries any time they want for no reason given nor are the obligated to provide any kind of compensation. Apparently, you have not followed the news. Tortola, British Virgin Islands may not be all that safe. In the past month 5 passengers from two separate Norwegian cruises has gone MISSING in Tortola. As of a few days ago NONE of them have been found. -

Can you get cash onboard the ship
www3traveler replied to krazy4kruisin's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Either the Guest Services Desk or the Credit Desk in the lobby. -
No There has not been a Chefs Table in a number of years.
-
(1) They will want all passengers cleared probably around 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. (2) I would contact your shuttle company and ask their advise. (3) If you are staying at the NCL partnership hotel in Rome, you should be able to get a transfer from the ship to the hotel.

Any special events on Gem, Boston to Bermuda?
www3traveler replied to disneynan's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
You do not need any special clothing for any of the dance parties. They are held 10:00 P.M. or later outdoors on the pool deck (indoors in the Spinnaker Lounge in bad weather). Very loud and usually do not last very long-- 30 minutes most nights. Not worth it to me and past my bedtime. -
encore to Alaska 2024 daily schedule
www3traveler replied to Musicdream's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
The Encore's first Alaskan cruise of the season out of Seattle will be this Sunday April 28th. When people start posting Freestyle Dailies, you will have a better idea events and their times. -
Live, NCL Spirit-Tahiti to Hawaii 4/10 - 4/22

Thank You for sharing your wonderful adventure. I pray that you have an uneventful journey home. -
Eating outside at Ocean Blue can be very chilly. The movement of the ship creates its' own breeze and it can be very cold in the outside dining venues not just Ocean Blue.

Most if not all restaurants have tables for two people. As a solo passenger, I eat the majority of my meals at table meant for two people. No problem at all. Relax and enjoy your cruise.

A large number of cruise ship itineraries are set several years in advance of your specific cruise. Lots of things can occur in between. Right now a number of ports, communities and countries are setting limits as to the number of cruise ships and passengers can be in a particular port at a particular time. No way to know in advance. With some of the newer NCL ships, the lifeboats can not be used as tenders either. Just a current fact of life.
