  1. Same when we were on the Edge, we lost a little bit but next to the last day hubby won more than we had lost so we came home with more than our obc was orginally 🙂 Now I try to leave a little to take to the casino.
  2. One more reason to give them a deposit on board with a reduced amount.
  3. This started however from the first day that bookings were available and it's across the sailings as far as I can tell. Not a "sold out" situation. Maybe the deck plan isn't fully determined yet.
  4. So to directly respond and give our experience. I booked with FBC shortly after flights became available. Our Premium Economy to AMS and back were apx 2K pp - looked at the airline site and the same either on refundable or non refundable and add on insurance. So we booked, long story short I kept track of the flights and they never decreased. Did I pay a little more, not really because I would have at least insured the flights that far out. However, had the flights dropped I could have refared thru FBC or booked with the airline direct. IMO why not book with FBC and lock in something definite. BTW our flights are with Delta and we were allowed to pick our seats, I could see the reservation on Delta. Not sure if the other airlines or class has anything to do with it. But so far it is working for us
  5. We booked Flights by Celebrity since they were the same price as buying refundable thru the airline or non refundable with insurance. We didn't have to pay until we made final payment and I watched for the next 7 months to see if it was any cheaper through the airline or other booking agents (like using points etc) The price only increased and at final payment was more than double what we booked.
  6. So if you know it's taxable, why worry why they issued it. Just curious since I assume you claimed your winnings from Mexico 🙂
  7. Our cruise with Classic shows the Limes - the cruise we have premium shows a glass and an orange
  8. I agree, depending on the date of the cruise. We went the week after Thanksgiving and I have never seen so many older than us. Scooters, walkers & canes were everywhere (don't be in a hurry LOL) The entrance to the MDR was a parking lot of scooters. That said, try to go to Good Spirits for the mixology show. And even though we aren't true jazz fans we enjoyed Take Five in the evening.
  9. With Celebrity as we all know there have been changes and glitches thus I told them to check their original booking. If that shows the tips included or an AI code they should be able to get that refunded.
  10. Go back to your original booking confirmation. Celebrity has changed back and forth, see if your original indicates if they were included. Do you have drinks and wifi??
  11. For the last two years coffees have been included. Agreed there are 3 packages, 2 with alcohol.
  12. And that is because Bailey's is not included in the Classic drink Liqueuers you could have had anything on the left (Classic)- Right is Premium
  13. Same reason we don't get any in Tampa. If we want to sail close to home we'll go with what they offer 🙂 Seems the newest go on the tried and true itineraries so you have a choice - itinerary or ship
  14. Our last cruise in January I linked our reservation to our friends (2 couples) However all that happened is one couples reservation always showed under "manage my reservation" but I was not able to combine our dinner reservations or anything else. All 3 numbers showed as linked but it made no difference at all
  15. The way it reads .. we have Allianz - if you go to there webpage for the annual policies it lists the coverages.
  16. I didn't print the complete terms - no one wants to read all that. Ours also gets you home after you are stable to travel - Again the point is that it is a personal choice and you have to decide what is right for you. But the question was about Cruise Care. CruiseCare doesn't cover nearly enough to get you taken care of in a catastrophic situation.
  17. Ours arranges and pays for not reimbursement - that's the difference. Just a portion of our policy . We will identify the closest appropriate hospital or other appropriate facility, make arrangements to transport you there, and pay for that transport; The difference is they Pay not reimburse.
  18. That is why you have to look at the policies closely. We have an annual policy that states that they will make the arrangements AND pay for the transportation and care. Our annual policy was slightly more than the CruiseCare for one of our trips.
  19. Your story about your dad is the REAL reason to get insurance because when something like that happens the cost is Unknown. Most of us while unhappy can eat the money we have put out for the trip. The medical cost and evacuation costs can mean life or death and could bankrupt many of us. One thing for anyone on Medicare is that it does not cover you outside the US, if you have supplement that may reimburse you when you get home. However, many foreign countries require that you pay the bill in full before you are allowed to depart.
  20. We had this issue on our January cruise on the Equinox and we were told when we called to see the maitre'd when we got on. All 3 had a 7:30 reservation and we linked our reservations on the website and they showed as linked on the app. When we showed up for dinner the first night we could not be accomodated, not even as 3 individual reservations. The hostess at the desk was just down right rude not something we have experienced before and we were polite. Second night same issue and I found the Maitre'd and had him talk to my husband - the ONLY thing they could offer was 5:30 (saying we could show at 6 pm) or 8:00. We made our reservations 5 months in advance. Obviously we weren't going to make a scene in the MDR. In my contact with someonein the Executive Office - I was told we should have reported it to Guest Services. So if they can't do it go to Guest Services.
  21. That belongs under Roll Calls not on the forum board.
  22. I will add however, when booking you may be able to book "all included" at less than this price.
  23. That is an individual consideration. If you have a medical coverage that will reimburse you and sufficient funds to pay your medical bill up front - you may decide to go without it. Remember that many countries will require your bills to be paid before leaving their country. The summary of CruiseCare coverage is: Travel insurance benefits underwritten by Arch Insurance Company Trip Interruption: up to 150% of total trip cost if you can't start or finish your cruise vacation because you're sick or hurt, there's a death in the family or another covered reason Trip Delay: up to $2,000 ($250/day) for catch-up expenses if your are delayed for 3 or more hours Missed Connection: up to $300 if you miss your trip departure for covered reasons by 3 or more hours Accident Medical: up to $25,000 if you get hurt on your cruise vacation Sickness Medical: up to $25,000 if you get sick on your cruise vacation Emergency Medical Evacuation: up to $50,000 if you need emergency medical transportation Baggage Protection: up to $1,500 if your bags are lost, stolen, or damaged Bag Delay: up to $500 to buy necessary personal items if your bags are delayed for 24 hours or more Personally I am not sure that $25,000 for medical expenses or $50,000 for emergency medical transportation is enough. We chose a plan that has $50,000/$500,000 coverage but that is our personal preference. Compare prices, as I said before for us - we have decided on an annual plan that covers us anytime we are more than 90 miles from home. The cost was slightly more than covering our most expensive cruise this year. You need to do some homework.
  24. We have decided with as many trips as we take now that it is better coverage and less money to take out an annual policy. A couple of our trips will exceed our upper limit but I am thinking that we possibly wouldn't have a claim for the full amount anyways. Airlines, hotels etc can sometimes be rescheduled. That said we are more concerned with medical issues while abroad. We have been on several trips now where someone has misstepped and had a serious injury. Most of them they were able to get home but we could see the potential for a major hospital bill.
