  1. We have had friends miss the embarkation and they were able to join at the next port. They had to fly at their own expense though. My understanding is that if you are using Royal for your air transportation they will cover that.
  2. So far no joy for me...I told them I would call back if the credit had not been applied by Monday or Tuesday.

  4. Hijacking the thread for a moment. Yesterday I called about points I applied to a cruise in October. They're still not showing up and as we're getting close to the final payment date the TA wants me to pay. No worries. Royal apparently has a new policy (or new to me) where they only apply the credit a week before the final payment date. The problem is my TA wants the dough two weeks before this date. I did call. Royal said they would submit a request to apply it early. What a PITA. I think this is it for me. I've been looking for a reason to dump this card, and this could be it. I'll complete the current free cruise (I'm half way there) before I dump it though.
  5. They will list "platinum" on your seapass from now on instead of "Gold". You'll also get some slightly better perks onboard. Google can show you the current list if you're interested.
  6. It's not a great card IMO. I have it and only use it for RCI purchases (2% reward) and then only use the points for "free" cruises. (they're effectively worth twice the value of the other options) I am likely to cancel it after I get the points for one more free cruise. There are better options, and having a card I only use for cruises is just not useful.

  8. I have never had to do this. It's easy to order from your room and if the menus are not there they are on your app and in the lounge.

  10. Just to be clear, the tours are still being offered if you are suite, although not on every cruise. Hopefully they'll pick up as staffing picks up.
  11. I love the fresh squeezed, and often use a voucher for one in the morning. My wife prefers the other. This works out well as we can both get fresh squeezed in CK or Chops and I can have them both. 😉
  12. No worries. Did it work out for you? We moved to Oasis and since their 2BR GS is more expensive, AND the first leg is a Thanksgiving cruise now, we came out ahead in the deal.
  13. You're an idiot. I am too. Did almost the same thing. I had to jump through a few hoops, but it all worked out in the end.
  14. Personally I think the room would be crowded, it's got just the one bathroom, and other than the curtain, no privacy. Have you looked at a 2BR? If it were me I'd book an additional interior rather than have 4 in that room.
  15. You can talk to the concierge. It's been hit or miss lately (mostly miss) but we did get it once on a recent cruise. We have 8020 on an upcoming cruise.
  16. I wonder what the percentage of passengers who are evacuated fit your parents profile? Personally I think it's a risk and I would at least be certain of their insurance coverage.
  17. Short are cheap...I'd suggest you buy a pair. Why risk it?
  18. I believe it's processing. We aren't cruising until Thanksgiving so we have plenty of time. It's just a little pain...for now.

  20. You said that before, and yet you keep bringing it up. Apparently you not only don't know what the word opinion means you also have no self restraint. Here's a "tip": if you don't want us to change your "opinion" than quit trying to justify it.
  21. I'm sorry, but it's not an opinion. I can't opt out of any portion of the cruise fare. I can, if choose, opt out of the gratuities. This is a fact.
  22. What was the solution? Someone else may have the same issue and it will be nice to have an answer.
  23. Are you typing in your username and password each time OR are you using what is saved on the iPad?
  24. Are you typing the information in each time or are using cached credentials? If you are using cached credentials, have you been updating them as you change the password?
