  1. We bought at $16 way back when, then it dropped to $5. Wifey said, "let's buy more." What the hell does she know? 🤪 As long as I'm sailing either Royal or Celebrity, I'm not selling my 100 shares. My kids will inherit whatever. 🤑
  2. We are on this cruise. To answer the OP, Celebrity excursions usually meet in the Theater and disembark up forward. The rest of the ship should be disembarking mid-ship, and as soon as the ship is cleared, you should be able to go ashore. For an 8:00am arrival, you should be able to walk off the ship by 8:30am at the latest.
  3. You may hear a few scraping of the deck chairs in the morning, but nothing more than that.
  4. We both have the AI on an upcoming TP sailing. I called to just upgrade me since my wife only drinks Classic beverages. I told them my wife didn't drink, so they upgraded just me and downgraded hers to Zero Proof Promo Drink Package. I had to call back to reinstate wife's Classic package. They did, and I just paid for my upgrade to the Premium package. With the Elite+ discount, it ended up around $15 a day, which included gratuity.
  5. On Freedom at the Windjammer and on Harmony at the Windjammer. On Harmony I got a Bloody Mary on the last morning using my vouchers, but that was back in Oct 2021. May have changed policy since then.
  6. It was free for dinner on Odyssey, but you had to make a reservation. I asked the head guy up there about the upcharge for the filet. He told me that the $16.95 upcharge was for the same 9oz filet that you get in Chops but pay $50.
  7. I agree. I suspect you took the stuff off the ship in your carry on and didn't need ziplock bags. 😏
  8. That's understandable. I bring a few beers with me to have at my hotel that night since I have a 2-day drive home. I was responding to the post that said: "I always bring several large ziplocks and we just put the bottles of water in them and put them in my bag to take home." It didn't appear they were bring the drinks to have on the drive home but putting in ziplocks in the bag to take home. So, I was just curious why anyone would take ship's bottled water home? 🤔
  9. The booking was made in Dec 2022. I didn't know they changed the policy.
  10. You have to wait for the FCC to be sent to you. Ours took around a month. Once I received it, I sent it to our TA to have it applied to a currently booked sailing.
  11. If it's a refundable booking, why would you lose anything? Non-refundable would lose $100 per person.
  12. They just recently started adding gratuity to the cost of specialty dining. In the past it was assumed gratuity was included in the price. Now that they tack it on the price, like ordering a drink, I don't feel guilty not tipping in Specialty restaurants, although I would leave extra (cash) for exceptional service. Servers in specialty restaurants are promoted from the MDR, so I assume they make much more than being a waiter in the MDR otherwise no one would upgrade to serve in a specialty restaurant.
  13. We recently cancelled a non-refundable cruise with a $900 deposit. We lost $200 and $700 was refunded as a FCC which we applied to a future sailing we had booked. Celebrity & Royal came out with new non-refundable policy concerning suites starting 1 June. I'm not sure, but I believe you would lose all your deposit if you cancelled? I have 4 suites booked that are grandfathered from this new policy if I cancel.
  14. I guess I'm just curious. I could understand a bottle of wine. 😃
  15. Why would you bother to bring water bottles home when you can buy a case at your local grocery store for $3-4?
  16. It depends on the port. For example, in both Barcelona and Civitavecchia, the port provides the x-ray/security, and they are only looking for weapons. They could care less whether you are carrying wine or not. In Barcelona the duty free is after security, so you can buy just about anything to bring on board. In other ports where the ship handles the security, they will confiscate your wine and give it back to you on the last evening.
  17. Yes. If you look at the deck plans, staterooms on either side have fold out sofa beds, so their beds are by the bath. They alternate, so 1206 has bed by the balcony.
  18. Yeah, the new rules that both have to upgrade to premium suck. My wife doesn't drink much if anything on the premium. I called and got a waiver so I could just upgrade myself.
  19. With a lot of D's on board, last cruise they loaded one specialty coffee a day on the seapass in addition to what you could get in the D Lounge. Maybe that was what was received on disembarkation morning?
  20. We just got off a TA, and on the last night my wife gave a very nice tip to a particular bartender who took good care of her the entire cruise. He thanked her and put the tip in the tip box and not into his pocket. I'm not sure, but I believe they pooled tips at that particular bar among the bartenders working up there. I'm done trying to figure out who, what, where, why, how, etc., they do with their tips. I'm sure they've got it all figured out. I just tip where I feel appropriate.
  21. Here's where you catch the busses that will take you to your ship's terminal. As others have said, some taxis/limos will take you to the ship directly. If you take the train into Civitavecchia, you will have to take the terminal bus to your ship. https://*****.com/ycxpp25k
  22. The old rules did stipulate, which I don't see posted anymore, words to the effect, having served 2 years active duty or served in a combat zone (if less than 2 years).
  23. You don't need to be a "career" military to get the military discount. If you served in a combat zone, you are eligible.
  24. You must have had one of the same insides we had. LOL It had two upper berths -- I can't imagine 4 people in that room. First inside in 20 years -- last minute cruise, but we made due.
  25. I think the photo section on the ship is an independent contractor. It would cost a lot of money to give everyone a free photo. As D+, we have so many free photos, we don't bother anymore.
