  1. Because they made a killing shorting RCL's stock a couple months ago. 📉 = 💲💲 😉
  2. For me cruise line CD's are relics of the past just like music CDs and 5 year 1% Bank CDs.
  3. Chill @chrismch, what @mom says wrote was really funny. And really funny on multiple levels. BTW, we stay in Siesta Key very often and you are 100% right, the beaches are beautiful near you. Great places to Chill! 😉
  4. At the end of Q1 RCL had 55% of their remaining fuel purchases for 2022 under hedging agreements which are below current the market prices but they were higher than the hedges they put on in Q4. So this will be a slow process. It likely will be later this year when they might 'need' to apply fuel surcharges or raise prices. Which means they might start applying these tomorrow. 😉
  5. But this is a cruise line that calls what they sell at those auctions, "Art". RCL's marketing and communications folks never attended the Joe Friday Communications Academy. 😉
  6. But isn't cruising all about pretend anyways? Heck, I just want them to serve good 'pretend' vs. the swill they do serve. 🍾
  7. Hey even Kirkland Champagne isn't anonymous!
  8. You're from the northwest, you should be used to skating in shorts. Be a Kraken! 😁
  9. I hear Celebrity will be changing it's name the The South Sea Company to go along with hawking these NFT's and Royal will be selling the shares to eager cruisers.... at 20x revenue. Hey, if you don't have earnings, it's got to be x something. 😉
  10. ArriveCan IS CURRENTLY mandatory to enter Canada at any point of entry for all travellers. Next month, who knows.
  11. That's why we did an AI earlier this year vs. a cruise. At least at the AI the quarantine rooms had balconies and a view of the ocean. OK you needed a pair of binoculars but you could still see it. 😉
  12. Just got the email today. Once again X is on the cutting edge. 🙄
  13. Man, there are sure alot of issues these days with travel in general with the delays at airports and customs, cancelled flights due to lack of trained pilots, and all the issues brought up in this and many other threads on CC. Friends of ours have booked something like 6 different cruises this summer to catch up on the ones they missed during covid. They have completed one so far and experienced lots of these issues first hand. They are on their second cruise this week. They didn't fly this time so at least one headache was avoided. We'll see if this cruise gets any better for them. 🤞
  14. Be careful near a ship carrying golf shafts. It won't travel in a straight line and will always miss it's intended target by 50 yards to the right. 🏌️‍♂️ 😁
  15. I just saw some quarterly results from a couple of publicly traded bulk carriers. It's interesting the amount of money they can make carrying iron ore, grains and coal as 'passengers' rather than carrying people. And they have an added bonus of no 'passengers' complaining to Guest Services or posting on Bulk Carrier Critic. 😉
  16. Mrs. Dawg insists I always wear shorts for those photo shoots. She says I have great legs... ... a little fury, but still, great legs. 😁
  17. Assuming you are fully vaccinated with the Canadian approved vaccines, there is no testing requirement for you to enter Canada but you might be selected for random testing at the border if you are driving or after you land if you are flying to Canada. And remember to download and complete the ArrivCan app before you travel to Canada. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid
  18. LOL. The port hand never knows what the starboard hand is doing at this company most of the time. 🖐️
  19. I've been around these boards for a long time now and most posters here would no know the difference between a covered call and a last call. 😁 And we won't be bringing up using a straddle either. Lord knows where that discussion would lead to. 😉
  20. I was in the business for almost 30 years but I was never licenced to give investment advice to Americans (just Canucks) so I won't give you any investment advice, but I'll will tell you what one of my favourite investing quotes is. It's from Warren Buffett, who has had a pretty good career in investing, It's; “Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful.”
  21. Rental cars are in short supply this summer in Vancouver and even if you can find one, the prices are sky high. $215 for the bus is CHEAP! BTW. I'm not sure what the supply situation is in the States but I was out shopping for a new EV last week in the Toronto area and for the model we wanted the 2022's were all sold out and the 2023's delivery times were 18 - 24 months.
  22. Frankly I'd be more worried about what the increase in demand for flights to Canada from those Americans returning from overseas would have on prices vs. the increased risk of exposure.
  23. I hadn't looked at the NCLH stock chart recently until I saw this thread. WOW, it looks like a FANG stock on steroids! 📉
  24. If I were in your shoes I would be on the phone to guest services 24 hours per day until this was corrected. OP, make your self a very load squeaky wheel!
