  1. Interested to read your reports. We are on Azura for the return trip from Tenerife to Malta in Spring 2024.
  2. And collection of the brown (garden waste) bin in the winter for £15.
  3. I presume it is a charge levied by the airline that P&O collect for them as part of the charter agreement. I do agree that it doesn’t look good though but I cannot imagine P&O benefit from it. It does allow those who want to make a choice, possibly people who don’t like flying, to give themselves the certainty that they are sitting where they would prefer to be rather than allocations being random, as they are for those who choose not to book their seats.
  4. Did nobody tell you that those are the ejector seats for if the driver wants some inflight entertainment?😱 Is your cat in 4b? Glad you got what you wanted though. 😊
  5. I don’t doubt that in your case, a saver fare may have been better. I was only pointing out that your assertion that you received no benefit was a little wide of the mark because of the OBC.
  6. Your earlier post stated you received no benefit from booking select fare but you received OBC which paid for some of your 30 specialist dining meals. I realise that your OBC perhaps did not match the price difference between select and saver but it should surely be considered to be a benefit of booking select which you would not have received if you had booked a saver fare.
  7. I guess that as you say you received no benefit from booking Select, you didn’t receive any onboard credit to close the gap between the relative costs of select and saver to a degree? If you did, maybe it covered some of your select dining which for 30 nights must have set you back a bit. Presumably, being Aurora, that was Sindhu, Glasshouse and / or Beach House.
  8. We have pre booked several times. You pre book a cabin grade and when booking opens, they guarantee you a cabin in that grade. If you prefer a different one, you can contact them and they will move you to where you want to be. It has worked very well.
  9. Have a great cruise but please be kind to her so she will be ready to accept us next month without any issues.
  10. Thanks Harry. There does appear to be some logic but in places it seems to be contradictory.
  11. I have posted about this a week or so ago. I think the advertising is misleading although the small print is quite clear. As I turned 65 a couple of years ago, thereby needing to wait until I am 70, I wonder what the rationale behind the seemingly illogical criteria is.
  12. Also handy for the St Jeronimos Monastery which is an amazing building for those who like ornate churches.
  13. I wish people would stop using steak and kidney pie / pudding as an example of how bad the menus have become. Made well, it can be a wonderful thing. Beautiful food can be made out of cheap ingredients, something we should be celebrating and not sneering at. Back in the day, when the late Gary Rhodes had a fine dining restaurant on Arcadia, Steak and Kidney pie was on the menu. When served to me, it was a piece of fillet steak and a small kidney pie. Although it was extremely good, I did have an initial sense of disappointment that it was not the real thing.
  14. I do agree but at the moment, daytime TV seems to exist on ads for Staysure that are so awful, they make me want to throw something through the TV. Oh, and a slightly misheard one where a cartoon lady tells us that she doesn’t want a funeral ‘because no one likes me’.
  15. We have been on a few Warners breaks and thoroughly enjoyed them however comparing them to cruises is like comparing apples and pears. Both are good in their own ways but direct comparisons do not really work. Others have pointed out differences which individually I do not disagree with.
  16. Hard to find words. I can’t imagine what you and your loved ones are going through. All you can do is stay strong doing what you are doing. All best wishes from this side of the city.
  17. Best not to mention mad Nath in polite company. I couldn’t believe it when Southampton handed over the club for him to ruin.
  18. Sorry to read that you are not well Kalos. I hope you are feeling better soon.
  19. Ditto Stoke City who Southampton will be playing soonish.
  20. Even using Starlink, would it have the bandwidth to cope with greatly increased demand if free?
  21. That may be the case for those approaching 65 but for those currently over 65, they will have to wait until they are 70, not for their next birthday (unless they are currently 69)
  22. We were told we couldn’t have a shingles jab because we are not 70. I know the advert says 65 but that is people who reach 65 after August 1st 2023 so there are probably around 3 million people, like us, stuck in the middle. You couldn’t make it up.
