  1. Shuttle buses are free on P&O as a benefit for those who pay the ‘select’ fare rather than either of the cheaper ‘saver’ fares. In many ports, they are not necessary.
  2. I thought I would leave it to somebody else. Had I known it would be you………! 😊 Being truthful, I didn’t notice ☹️
  3. It may be me being thick but I am not sure I understand🤔
  4. Different and better. Maybe introducing charges for individual dishes has contributed to this.
  5. But the limited capacity of Limelight means fewer people would get to see him. Personally, I think that spending £10 for the chance of a ticket gives a high probability that they will be successful. I would be interested to find out after the event how many people had no interest in paying to see him. Don’t forget, apart from new bookings, nobody booked the cruise expecting Gary Barlow to be performing so the demand may not be so great.
  6. It all looks very nice and very different from when Atol Kochar was ‘in charge’ of Sindhu.
  7. The reason we purchased new (for only the second time ever). The deal we were offered (£1500 discount and 5 years free servicing) made it at least comparable to a similar 12 month old car.
  8. It is a Honda but don’t get too hopeful. The one I am getting is the only one that was on the books in UK when I ordered it and happened to be the colour I wanted. Otherwise, the wait would be months rather than weeks.
  9. I agree. The coach ride up an down is scenic but not for the faint hearted but on a clear day the views are spectacular. There may even be some snow on the top of the mountain, even in summer.
  10. Geiranger is beautiful but there is not a lot to do there. The little church up the hill is nice, the walk alongside the waterfall is worth doing if you can cope with the uphill / downhill walking and there is the fjord centre further up the hill. The gift shop sells the same sort of tourist items as elsewhere in Norway and there is a place to buy coffee. I guess that private tours may be few and far between because they are likely to be used by any other ships or relocate to Hellesylt for Iona. If you like sitting outdoors in a beautiful, peaceful place, Geiranger is an ideal place to be, if you want activity, you may be disappointed. I have not stopped in Hellesylt, but having sailed past it, it seems to be little different from Geiranger.
  11. I can see a healthy black market arising from people who buy multiple tickets to better their chances of winning and ending up with more tickets than they can use.
  12. I ordered a new car three weeks ago, was told it would be in the country and at the garage by the end of this month (a date we and the salesman were very dubious about). Lo and behold, I got a call from the dealer yesterday asking me whether I wanted to pick it up at the end of this week. 🚘🚗
  13. You mean the subject of this thread that I mistakenly hijacked? Perhaps I should leave now 🥴
  14. As I mis-posted on the Gary Barlow thread, the latest Moments magazine has a list of boat drivers for the rest of this year. We have Alan Hawkins on Ventura in October - a new name to us.
  15. Sorry for the thread drift. I thought I was on the mega thread.
  16. Moments magazine also has a list of captains and the boats they are driving for the rest of this year. Not quite the fuller senior crew list they used to publish but a good move. In my opinion. We have Alan Hawkins on our Ventura cruise in October. A new name to me.
  17. I wasn’t at Roundhay park but have seen him several times elsewhere. 3+ hours of brilliant music each time. His tour with the Seeger Sessions band, an ensemble he just happened to come across at a party, was superb with him basically directing, arranging, managing and playing his own songs interspersed with Pete Seeger songs etc which demonstrated his brilliance. He would also be perfect as an acoustic performer in the Limelight club. 😊
  18. I believe that they are accurately reporting what they were told which may or may not be exaggerated. What made me suspicious is that they said the fcc was much less than they paid for the cruise. At least they allowed P&O to dispute this.
  19. I understand your frustration but presumably involving the ship, (which is now on another cruise), in an investigation may delay the response. I would prefer a thorough investigation and delayed response to a quick one which is less likely to be meaningful.
  20. Normally, they are quite easy to negotiate with, especially if you threaten to take your custom elsewhere. It is likely they will say you are on an old contract which can be replaced by a cheaper new contract.
  21. Agreed, but that may change in the future. Every penny counts when trying to increase the balance sheet and recoup the losses of the last couple of years.
  22. Provided you are allowed to bring it on board. They do ask you to leave it on entry and collect it on the last day of the cruise. Shops in some ports, including some duty free, can be more expensive than room service.
  23. Last night the moon was obscured by the rain clouds I’m afraid. Still cloudy now the sun has risen (probably, because I can’t see it for the clouds).
  24. Let’s just keep it between ourselves, nobody else need find out. 😇
