  1. Shoreside has always been an issue. BUT... it is NOT unique to Seabourn. Scenic is terrible (will be on the 3rd one in October and every pre-cruise experience has been challenging - especially to my great TA who gets put on hold for 45+ minutes), but once on the ship a great experience. We will be on a Ponant cruise in a few weeks, shoreside has been hit or miss - despite Mrs 2SN sending a request for help in setting up her account several months ago she never got a reply, meanwhile I got my account issues fixed 2 days later. Got an offer for biz class upgrade (duh I wouldn't take that why???) flight that I accepted but haven't heard back. I think the on-board crew have people who actually love their job and want to provide a great experience whereas the land-based look at it how do I punch my time clock and be done... JMO.
  2. But if you need perfume or handbags they are over stocked.... Or Teddy Bears.
  3. Same here. We thought you were staying on for the next segment and sent you a message on the Source app to get together for dinner but never saw you again, too bad we didn't meet sooner as we enjoyed your company. Next time... And hopefully you can bring your bike on the next one 🙂
  4. On our recent- disembarked last Sunday after 21 days - Ovation cruise many, many things had gone back to the old great Seabourn that we have spent over 400 days on. However there were multiple food issues, mostly around main courses not even barely warm and have to be sent back, including one night in the TK Grill. A member of a couple we were traveling with had specific allergies and many of his dishes he couldn't eat for various reasons. A former F&B Manger for Seabourn who we knew well had 3 rules: It has to be what was ordered It has to be in a reasonable time It has to be served HOT Too bad he is no longer with Seabourn ... And have no idea who the F&B person was as they never introduced themselves nor were obvious unlike the 2 Bar Mangers who were always around and helping out.
  5. Yes you can't go to the TK bar on the O class ships. For show really never saw a single person or seats for that matter there.
  6. We have done many special lunches in the MDR, always nice as it is less hectic than at dinner. That said the 2 special dinners we had on our recent Ovation cruise with chef Jess were excellent. The one lunch we ordered was totally not what we requested, that request was taken by someone else and obviously lost in translation to the kitchen.
  7. The title was marketing not tell us what you object to or want to see improved so no surprise here.
  8. And tests are now, so we heard, quite expensive on the ship, you are paying for them.
  9. The one who despite asking every time "remind me of your suite?" he can't remember you tomorrow? Doesn't remember us despite sailing with him multiple times, that guy? Names obviously not his strength.
  10. Thank you for the very informative narrative. We will be boarding in a few weeks for the North Pole cruise and totally looking forward to it and the ship.
  11. Iceland is amazing, have been there twice on 2 cruises each to different multiple ports and spent 2 days post cruise a week ago in Reykjavik after disembarking the Ovation and will be back next month at the end of another cruise. We also now live in a place where in the summer the heat is oppressive so going for part of the summer where temps are not over 100F is appealing. Miss living in Park City this time of year.
  12. That was an amazing location they (apparently first officer Fran, based on some inside info) put the ship in and held it steady all day as could not drop the anchor. Rather that location than the intown dock.
  13. When we were on last week there were significant savings on certain cruises. 15% or more for us Diamond members, 5% on-board booking, plus if the sailing qualified for the 5% CLUB discount all cumulative. Transferred to my TA who gave us her usual discount. Very pleased with how it worked out.
  14. I hope not as "included" means you are paying more for something you might not want. As much as I loved the Regent cruise I hate the premium they charge for "free excursions" that I have no interest in.
  15. We were on from July 9th to 30th. First 2 weeks MDR was usually open for lunch - we rarely do breakfast so didn't pay attention. 3rd week was not open for lunch and worse not on disembarkation day for last breakfast which we always do. Only the 2nd time that has happened. Food we found to mostly be good. But NEVER actually hot and we sent back, as did others we were dining with, main courses on multiple occasions, which in the past we didn't have to. Even one night in the TK multiple plates were unacceptable temperature wise. Indian market and German lunch in Colonade were very good, patio for lunch was meh. We prefer MDR for lunch, but sushi was good. Sushi at dinner was hard to get into and the people who we were traveling with don't like it so only ate dinner there once.
  16. We disembarked Ovation last Sunday after 21 days and there were a lot of cases, both of pax and crew. One crew member we thought had left a week earlier but saw her the day we disembarked and shared she was just released. At least 6 suites on our floor. As to HD doing something he was useless the absolute worst ever, totally full of himself and something else that starts with the Same letter. Most unfriendly HD I ever sailed with, similar take from 5 other couples who also have multiple SB cruises.
  17. Did not mean any offense SLSD, This is a term I have heard applied in multiple places but first from a coworker many years ago who grew up on hundreds of acres of land, means a dude wears a big hat (or more often acts like a big shot in a place where the many people actually do own a lot of land, but addition to the land there needs to be something using that land, e.g. not just inherited and you act like a big shot) was not implying that applied to you rather the wearing of a cowboy hat in a restaurant. I used to spend a lot of time in Jackson Hole, there is a lot of $$$$$ there and a lot of big hat wearing pretenders.
  18. But I did get a "butler" and canapes often after we left the room to go for cocktails. Rather not have to wait in a queue, especially as from what I see on the deck plans there are not that many PH suites. Yet prices is quite bit higher.
  19. We found that out when we boarded, thought PH would get special lines, NOPE. That was disappointing.
  20. I know people who have done subs on Scenic and Seabourn, all but one (A TA on a highly discounted Scenic cruise and she got to go on the sub for almost nothing) felt it is a waste of money, To each their own, I'd prefer a helicopter where I know I can see something if I am laying out that money. YMMV
  21. Yes indeed I meant to use metric, sorry for my US school influence
