GP&LK Posted June 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2018 If anyone is visiting Dubrovnik - we can recommend the cable car ride. We did it independently, were on the first shuttle off the ship and there was already a long queue - but worth the wait as you can see from the video. Mewat Posted June 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2018 I can also recommend the cable car in Dubrovnik. We walked the walls in the morning and then did the cable car afterwards and I don't recall there being any queues for the cable car then. Very interesting at the top seeing some reminders of the war and remembering seeing it all on the TV. Michele
GP&LK Posted June 13, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted June 13, 2018 You are welcome Balernocalling Michelle, we did it the opposite way, cable car then walls. Maybe everybody had the same idea? I wouldn’t be surprised, so might be worth considering an afternoon visit to see if quieter.
Rare dronnygirl Posted June 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2018 If you don't like cable cars, there are taxis waiting at the dock that will take you for an hour tour then drop you off outside the city walls. The trip includes driving up to the point where the cable car goes, the views are fabulous.
Lesanne Posted June 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2018 We did the cable car just walked up the road from the drop off point no real queues, would by the tickets from the cable car station rather than the shops on the way up as was €2 cheaper. We found it very busy at the top as the ship tours seemed to visit early was they had gone not a problem
Mr Piano Posted July 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 1, 2018 We did it on our own, queue was not long at all, but be aware, they only accept Croatian currency. No euros

P-L-B Posted July 1, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 1, 2018 (edited) Will they take credit cards do you know? Sent from my iPad using Forums Yes, we paid by credit card when we went in April earlier this year, best way IMO. Also, we paid by credit card when we walked the city walls afterwards. Cable car cost for the two of us £33.66 return. City walk cost for the two of us £36.06 As per my CC statement, taking into account current exchange rates at the time.
