Why would a person over 50 want to cruise on carnival?

Because, if you're tired of the "same old", "same old"......And, you just need to "kick-it-up-a-notch" by booking a Carnival cruise.

We don't do a lot of Carnival cruising, honestly, my heart couldn't take it, not to speak of my nerves. But, when we do......it's always fun!!!!! :)

If you're over 50 try it! Or, if you've already tell me what you do. Share some of your secrets. I'll never tell!

I guess we cruise during the off season because we are some of the younger ones on the ship. Sorry we are not in our 50's or above and we are not in our 20's. lol

I like Carnival much better than RCI.

We are in our early 50's. We love Carnival. We have also done RCI and hated it. We did Disney too but it was so noisy. You can keep it. We had a suite on Disney so the room was great with the bath and half . It was noisier on Disney and RC. We have done 9 on Carnival and have no problem. Only once was it noisy . That was because we didn't pick our room. We were near an elevator.

We are 50 plus this year. One being 58 and one being 50. Our youngest child who travels and loves cruising goes to Camp Carnival after dinner until it closes. Do not pick her up early. That is her words. Gosh in the evening after dinner we usually find the bar near the casino, have a few cocktails and talk with the people around us. We have met so many people of all ages and just have a grand time. We meet, we talk and we laugh so much. Especially if the bartender is good. Will never forget Tommy on the Conquest. He was just the most fun. I would give anything to see him again. He knew your name, your drink and was so entertaining. Was not pushy, just knew when to ask you at the perfect time, if you wanted another. If you declined and asked for a soda or a fresh cup of coffee, it was right in front of you. On port days we are so busy visiting ports, trying new things, learning culture, eating the wonderful food. On sea days, just kicking back relaxing.

My first Carnival cruise was last spring. I cruised solo and I met some of the nicest people around my age..55-60 and I really enjoyed all the fun and games around the pool on sea days. The kids must have been having a good time in the kids clubs because there weren't many by the pool on sea days. I found the food on Carnival to be excellent! I'd cruise Carnival again in a heartbeat!

This is very funny, actually.

My first cruise on Carnival was the Mardi Gras...on it's second cruise...I was in my mid-30's....and had a blast.

67 Carnival cruises later, I'm in my late 60's....and still cruising Carnival and still having a blast.

My DH and I are both over 60 and love Carnival. Lots to do, or do nothing at all. Was on a Princess ship and met a woman while looking through our photos. She wasn't happy with how quiet the cruise was and couldn't wait to get back to Carnival where she could party. She was 72. Like her we liked the Princess cruise but couldn't wait for our next Carnival cruise. Actually old is a state of mind not a number. And my state of mind is way younger than 60!

Well, I'm 24 and I'm sick of the unruly 50+ crowd we encounter on cruises. ;)

Really, myself and my fiance were just talking about how we can't wait till the kids are grown and we can retire and spend more time on vacation and having fun. What better time to live it up?

gimme a break. I am 50 and my significant other is 40 and we were twice as wild as anyone on our aft. We drank gambled, drank, worked out and had sex on our balcony. DO you want to see my abs? At least I can HOLD my liquor and aren't all tatted up. PLEEZ HOP OFF:p

DW and I are both in 60's, and we love Carnival because their ships have life in them. If you want to have a really good cruise on Carnival, join the Carnival Roll Call for your cruise on cruise critic, and meet lots of new friends from their 20's to their 80's. We are all young, or were young once.

Why do you ask? Think we can't handle it? All but 1 of our group of 8 is over 50! We've been on Carnival, NCL, RCL, Holland Amer among others and have had a great time on all of them. Sensation in Feb 08 was extra special:rolleyes:. We'll be on the Glory in Feb 2010. Can't Wait!

How many people want to see Houstonvip's abs?

Hi Roz...sorry for thread-changing. You have a devious knack for stirrin' it up. We sailed on the Golden Princess together, and did a meet-n-greet. We can't answer the over-50 Carnival question yet because we haven't sailed on Carnival. Our first time coming up on the Elation. We will check back and post. Hi your hubby and Brenda too.

Not only were we all young once........but we will all grow old if we're lucky enough.

Each one of us is simply part of the passing scene anyway. Better make hay...a lot of hay.....:D
