Table size request

Is it true (I always thought this could be done ahead of time) that we cannot request the size of table we want to sit at in the MDR? I know we cannot pick out who we sit with, but I thought the table size we could.

Do you have anytime dining or early/late dining? With anytime dining, you may make the request each night when you show up at the dining room. With early or late dining, you'll need to make your request to the maître d.

The last couple of cruises when we cruise with family we give the names of the guests we want to sit with and they have always accommodated our request. You can ask for a table for a certain number of guests.

This is why we like YTD so much. We can sit at a 2 top and have the same server, love it. We eat when we are hungry, not when we are told.

On the other end, this is why I love early dining. Our 2 top is always there, we never have to wait to sit, and we have the same server. I am always hungry by that time!

I question when I heard people say they like YTD cause they can eat when they want not when they are told. But correct me if I am worng. When you go to request what time you want to eat. They give you the closest reservation they have. So if you want to eat at say 7:15. It may be 7:15, 7:30, 7:45 or who knows when you get a table. So please explain how you are eating when you want and not when you are told.

Most nights we get seated right away but occasionally we have had to wait 10-15 minutes. You can pick to sit by yourselves or you can request to sit at a table with others. Both types of dining are fine, it just depends on what you prefer.
