nikel Posted December 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2017 We end our cruise in Dublin. How far is it from the port to hotels in zone 2. (Temple Bar Area). Are there taxis available at the port. Is it possible to prebook a car service, etc. Thanks
CruiserBruce Posted December 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2017 If ships are in port, there will be taxis.

ATG Posted June 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2018 We just pulled away from Dublin on Brilliance of the Seas. Transportation from the pier into Dublin was a real hassle. RC sold shuttle tickets at $19 for one day or $32 for both days. Unfortunately, they only ran every 30 minutes and dropped you off at Merion Square. On day one that worked out okay. Except that the return shuttle at 5:00 had broken air conditioning and temperatures were in the high 80s. Yuck! For day two we needed to be downtown to meet our tour early and the shuttles wouldn’t get us there on time. So, we lined up for a taxi at 7:00. There were very few. We waited until 7:35 to get one. At one point there were over 40 people waiting. So, don’t count on getting a taxi quickly.
rocklinmom Posted July 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2018 This seems typical of the taxi service when in Dublin for a port visit. I am wondering about taxi service if disembarking in Dublin and heading to the airport/hotel if we stay over?
051654 Posted July 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2018 Anyone on the Pacific Princess August 18 trying to get from port into Dublin have any suggestions?
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted July 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 15, 2018 We just did an overnight in Dublin. Day 1, plenty of taxis were available, and we hopped right in. We beat the traffic by going at 7:20 AM. Day 2, there were no taxis ready at 8:15 AM. We waited about 10 minutes in line to get one. The traffic was horrendous, and the taxi driver ended up dropping us off early, so we could run to our timed entry at Trinity. Our fares ranged from 13 Euros to 20 Euros. Most taxi drivers there do no accept credit cards. It’s their choice, and most don’t. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
