I'm sorry, I thought I was threw with my questions, but another one just popped in my mine.

In the ports of Belize, Roatan and Costa Maya, do they do any bargaining there, or do they have set prices (not on food/drinks) on the items they sell?

We’ll get back to Patti shortly, but in the meantime I grabbed the other camera and made my way up to the Blue Iguana Cantina to get myself a breakfast burrito. Once up on the Lido Deck I saw that the towel creatures had invaded the Beach Pool area…..

Hi, Jeff!

I’m late to chime in on this one, but thank you for once again taking us along as you & Patti share another adventure. My husband and I just bought a house and it may be awhile before we cruise again, which makes your trip reports all the more enjoyable for those of us needing our cruise fix!

Safe travels,

Megan

Thanks so much for your great review Jeff. It’s been getting me ready for our Victory Thanksgiving cruise, which we board today. We will be busy with our grandkids during the cruise,so I will have to catch up on your progress when we get back. Thanks again to you and Patti for the great review and pictures.

Thanks for letting me know Belize is the only place where you stop, and have to do a tender.

I was thinking that the two formal nights would be on the two sea days, but with our itinerary, the second sea day was on Friday, and I don't think that would work, with everyone getting their luggage out, etc. Can you tell me when the 2nd sea day was, or at what port?

The pictures of the bread, "reminded" me of the different kind of breads they serve, and I normally don't eat bread, but I found some "favorites" there.:)

The second Cruise Elegant night for the itinerary that we were on was Thursday which was Costa Maya day.

Patti said that you could bargain at any of the ports, but especially Cozumel and Costa Maya!

Day # 9 - Fun Day at Sea - 10/15/17.

We were up at 7am to a simply beautiful day with calm seas. Here are today’s Fun Times…..

IMG_6281.3-XL.jpg

Around 9am we made our way down to the Southern Lights Restaurant for the Sea Day Brunch. There was only a very small line waiting to get in. Once seated, we immediately cashed in our free drink coupons. Patti and I are enjoying our drinks…..

We made our way up to the Cloud 9 Spa where we would relax until 1pm. Afterwards, I made my way over to the Red Frog Rum Bar to visit my buds, and Patti went to shoot some pictures out on the open decks since it was so nice out. There was a good crowd around the Beach Pool…..

Here is tonight’s dessert menu……

IMG_5199-XL.jpg

We both had the s’mores parfait. I love it, Patti not so much…..

IMG_5200-XL.jpg

Tonight’s service was again not that good. As we left the dining room we told the assistant maitre’d that we would like to have a different table for next week’s cruise. She didn’t seem surprised when we explained the issues. She told us that she had the perfect table for us, so we would just have to make it through this week. No problem since we would be doing the Steakhouse tomorrow, so we would just have two more days in the MDR remaining this cruise.

After walking around the ship for a while, we decided to call it a night.

Coming up next: Our first visit to Isla Roatan (Mahogany Bay), and a brand new Steakhouse experience!

I am glad I am not the only one to feel this way. Last year when we sailed the Magic I was disappointed and mid week we gave up and ate elsewhere. I was happy to once again get the MDR experience that I remembered while one this Vista the other week. Love your review and now wish I would have gotten a spa pass on the Magic. The Vista was ok but their T-Pool is nothing compared to the Magic

We met back at the cabin and decided to order a room service lunch while we watched some football on the cabin tv.

Just like last week, the Diamond Party would be at 5pm in the Spotlight Lounge……

IMG_6335-X2.jpg

There were a couple dozen Diamonds and guests in attendance, and the Senior Staff circulated and talked to everyone. A few of our CC friends were at the table next to us. Captain Marchetti stopped by to say hello and take a picture. That is NOT his drink in front of him! Lol.

IMG_6336-XL.jpg

The party lasted a little over an hour and a good time was had by all. We all left with full drinks! Patti and I decided to see if the casino would be a little kinder to us this cruise. Patti played the slots and lost a little bit, but I was up over $300 playing blackjack in a half hour, so I decided to quit while I was ahead.

We went back to the cabin to relax before getting ready for dinner. Out on the balcony we enjoyed a beautiful evening at sea along with a stunning sunset…..

Tonight’s American Feast menu…..

IMG_6358-XL.jpg

We both started with the spaghetti carbonara as an appetizer…..

IMG_6360-XL.jpg

Patti also had a Caesar salad and the lobster. I also had the Italian wedding soup and two orders of lobster……

IMG_6361-XL.jpg

For dessert, Patti had her go to butter pecan ice cream, while I elected to try the coffee cream cake, which I enjoyed…….

IMG_6362-XL.jpg

After dinner we walked around the ship, and then headed back to the cabin for the night.

Coming up next: Nachi Cocom here we come!!!!!

Sometimes you just have to speak up. I know that sometimes things are out of whack so we'll give our waiters another chance, but if it continues like it did, then we had to change. I felt sorry for Leonardo who seemed to know what he was doing, but was dragged down by the other two, which I explained to the assistant maitre'd. She was right when she said she had the perfect table for us. Our new servers were over the top awesome. Made for a much, much better MDR experience!

We had this happen to us once. We had the most amazing server or staff member I've ever had on the Sunshine in August. I felt bad for him because he had a performance review during the cruise and he confessed it went poorly and I can all but guess it was because his assistants were really new. Obviously people have to start someplace but it seems to me that they are having a hard time training and retaining talent in the MDR these days. I feel bad for the shining stars who look bad because they are trying to help train others and are expected to have the others perform at a high level.

OK, I have finally caught back up! This review is still amazing.

I enjoyed reading and viewing the photos detailing the B2B aspect of debarkation day. It is really nice how Carnival appreciates guests doing a B2B. Pretty surprising to see how many folks were doing that along side you.

Was it strange being on the ship when it was so dead?

Doing a B2B is pretty awesome. It was great having the ship to yourself, even if it was only for a half hour or so. :D
