I am curious to hear about the disembarkation today and if there were specific times for FTTF (how early could FTTF start disembarking and what was the latest option for disembarking). If they post disembarking times on a notice, it would be great to see a copy of that.

Just off the ship & driving south. I do have the flyers about the different disembark options, but can’t access them right now. However the Priority disembark time was to meet in the Black Pearl Dining room on Deck 3 midship at 8:45 if you checked your luggage. We were still at breakfast & didn’t make it there until 9-9:15 & they were just calling for them to go.

The customs procedure is totally different now. You get off the ship, go downstairs, & gather your luggage, then get in line to see the customs agents. They are lots of them, just standing at little podiums now, not the glassed-in booths. We grabbed a porter with a cart & went around most of the line. Quick glance at the passports & we were on our way.

NO CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS anymore. I thought that was weird. Since they delivered the booze the night before, we had packed the case of Hennessy White & the 4 other bottles in a rolling bag & nothing was said.

I’ll post the forms in a more detailed review & put a link to it in here. After I dry out.

I was on there with you!!! I can answer about the comedy show for one night of the cruise. We only went to Eric Schwartz the first night he was on at his R show, it wasn’t crowded at all. There’s plenty of room to sit and you won’t need to get there early.

Also went to Lowell’s (not sure of his last name right now) PG show and it wasn’t crowded either. A little more crowded cause kids could go and they would take the front rows up, but you only sit there if you wanna get pointed out anyway!!!

Glad you had a good cruise , we sail in 3 weeks and hubby injured shoulder and needed surgery so will be in a sling ...

he will probably spend more time than usual in cabin ...does the TV have any news or Movies ??

Sorry to hear about your hubby. We didn't really use the TV too much, however I know for a fact that none of the TVs anywhere on the ship had NBC specifically because we couldn't watch any of the olympic coverage, even in the sports bar. I did see that the only 'news' channels were CNN, and did see Turner channel. I do remember reading on CC that they had removed all the major channels, including Fox earlier. I assume it's because the cost of including them was rising.

If I see any info re: TV channels in the paperwork when I go through it tomorrow, I'll post it. They did have Dive In Movies out in the lido at night. You could sit at tables 1 deck above the Lido and see the screen; that might be more comfortable for him if he didn't want to sit on a lounger the entire time.

I'll be new to Carnival in June, and have a few questions:

1.) Is there any huge benefit to the spa staterooms?

2.) What is the T-pool in the spa that people have been talking about?

3.) How early a flight can I make out of LA on debarkation day?

Thanks in advance!

1.) Is there any huge benefit to the spa staterooms?

The size (I believe is the same as the other cabins. You automatically get a week-long Spa Pass to access the T-pool/Steam Rooms/Thermal Suites. Because we weren't able to book a Spa cabin because of the Casino Rate we were using, I had to purchase the Couple's week-long pass for $186. From what I recall, you get slippers in your cabin that you get to take home, and nice bathroom supplies for your use. You should also have robes in your cabin for your use onboard; in other cabins you have to request them from the cabin steward. There is a small elevator on Deck 10 to bring you directly into the members-only area of the spa.

2.) What is the T-pool in the spa that people have been talking about?

It's a larger pool of seawater that's heated, but not quite as hot as a hot-tub. There is a large area of bars you can recline on, with bubbles coming up from underneath, some hot jets, and also two areas where you can cascade the warm water on your head, shoulders & back. It's full of skylights, so it's very light & airy. We really enjoy relaxing there. Because the entire spa area is 18+, there are no children allowed.

3.) How early a flight can I make out of LA on debarkation day?

I think they say to book flights leaving no earlier than noon. If you are carrying your own bags off, you can get off earlier than those who leave their bags out to be collected the night before. We drive, so I don't really have good info for you on that. The distance from LAX isn't that far, however traffic is always a crap-shoot. Because of a wreck, it took us 2-1/2 hours to get home to San Diego, rather than the usual 1-1/2 hours.

Appreciate your review!!! Were there places to get food by the main pool at lunch, or do you need to go into the buffet to get lunch? Hated getting dressed and leaving our chairs at lunch on RCCL. Also, did you find the beverage service around the pool satisfactory? Did it seem very overcrowded in that area?

Cabo (both days) were in the low 70's, and party-cloudy. Puerto Vallarta was very warn & sunny, in the 80's. However, on the sea days, the captain wasn't able to find us any real sunshine, so it was a bit brisk. Especially the two sea days heading home; the Serenity Deck was unusable, as it was very windy and cold. That's the one part I dislike about this ship's configuration; that the Serenity Deck is above the Spa Deck, on both sides. I prefer the location when it is in the back of the ship.

I'll definitely be posting the Fun Times and menus when I get back. Our awesome waitress in the Dining room, Ausrine, is helping me fill in the few pieces I missed, and the Puerto Vallarta menus, because we missed dinner that night because we went to Rhythms of the Night excursion.

Thank you for the weather report and the Fun Times and menu posting. We board in 5 days :-)
