Loridz Posted October 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2017 just returned from a super fun girls cruise with 18 girls! We chose a cheap cruise so everyone could afford to go who wanted to. Trying to plan another for next year in October or November, but have some questions. 1. Do any of the cruise lines allow individuals to purchase drink packages and not force the entire room to do so? We were on carnival and I thought this was a stupid money grabbing rule. 2. Looking to do a five night cruise that stops as much as possibly at ports, and does not include the Bahamas. Suggestions? 3. We had a blast at night dancing and doing karaoke and listening to live music. Any ships you suggest for a crowd of girls age 30-60 to do fun things at night? 4. Any suggestions on ships that have an awesome gym or workout classes available? 5. Best ships or food available for vegetarians? Thanks!
easyboy Posted October 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Princess does not require both adults in a cabin to purchase drink package. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare LHT28 Posted October 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Maybe NCL Your options for a 5 nt cruise are limited Carnival, RCCL, NCL, Celebrity Princess has a 5 nt out of NYC in Oct but keep in mind it is hurricane season

CruiseLifeRick Posted October 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Really just hear to subscribe. All jokes aside, Royal or NCL would be my suggestion for ships with great entertainment/nightlife and lots of activities. Royal’s Oasis Class (Harmony, Allure, Oasis) have the best gyms at sea and a ton of class options.

1025cruise Posted October 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Carnival and Royal both require all adults in the same room to buy the drink package, if one does. The reason they do this is due to "passing of drinks" to people without it. Yes, it may be a money grab, but its their rules. Unfortunately, I don't think you will find a 5 night cruise that isn't the Bahamas. Just not enough time to sail back and forth. If you want to avoid the Bahamas, you will need a 7 night cruise. Krazy Kruizers Posted October 23, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Glad you all had a great time. Forget HAL -- they require all persons staying in the same cabin who are over 21 buy the drink package.

If you want to avoid the Bahamas, you will need a 7 night cruise. RC has Brilliance of the Seas in Tampa doing 4 and 5 Caribbean night cruises from November to April. Only two port stops on the 5-day cruise though.
Herfnerd Posted October 23, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 23, 2017 On a 5 night cruise, the most ports I recall ever seeing are two. We've cruised out of New Orleans and Galveston on Carnival 5-nighters with stops in Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico. Inexpensive cruises, too
Nic6318 Posted October 23, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Hi Loridz Regarding Carnival's "money grab" in the way they charge for their drink package: They say they do it to try and avoid "sharing"...which we all understand does happen. That really doesn't matter. With a large group as you are describing, you should easily be able to arrange for the people that do want to purchase the package to book cabins together. You can rearrange your sleeping assignments later, it doesn't appear that they (Carnival) care. hope this helps
