I understand that there are restaurants on parade route in NO with lofts directly on parade route

Anyone have any information

Date March 2019

I'm thinking cruise critic would be one of the last websites to search for this type of information.

I would look at these two sites. Not many parades trek down Canal. St. Charles Ave is one of the main routes and there are limited balconies or views to be had there. It sounds like you may be thinking balconies like on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. Only a few small parades will be in the French Quarter itself. Keep in mind you're going to be one of thousands of people wanting an 'ideal' view. To get access to that you will either have to know someone or pay a lot to get it. It looks like with the cruise timing you will also miss the Super Krewe's unfortunately. Ultimately you will need to determine which parade you want to see and then research any restaurants/bars/hotels along that particular route.

During the innaugural Mardi Gras cruise on Equinox in 2017 a cc group of about 50 booked a second floor room with balcony. They were extremely dissatisfied as what they received was much less than what had been promised (our connections thread is still somewhere on cc, but it's long, totaling three parts and over 10,000 posts).

We, along with a number of others just booked grandstand seats through MardiGrasParadeTickets.com. Great inexpensive seats, not crowded, and directly across from reviewing stand.

Over three days we were able to view six great parades (especially liked Bacchus and Rex). Real bucket list trip.

We were on the Mardi Gras cruise this year. We too booked tickets for the grand stands as noted above. Actually the best experience we had was Sunday night heading to Bourbon street when we "ran into" one of the parades on a back street. We were so close you almost touch the floats, unbelievable experience.

Lots of info from our roll call or if you haven't joined your do so. We booked late but were able to get all we wanted and more. We did meet a lot of people who had done the sailing the previous year and already had next year's booked.
