Oh, oh. Did Carnival suddenly eliminate the Past Guest Rate?

I have used this rate for many years, because the deposit is fully refundable up to final payment date, and because it gives us flexibility with our jobs and family situations. I just tried to do several mock bookings and don't see this rate available on any of them, although I did book at this rate within the last two weeks.

Carnival has always encouraged repeat business from its customers, and I am willing to forgo the price protection to avoid penalties and receive two category upgrades.

My customary past guest offers are gone today. Instead I have a new "past guest early access sale" showing. Here are some but not all of the rules showing with it. "...50% reduced deposits, $25 onboard credit per room, and free room upgrades for sailings through December 2020.
Exclusive offer for guests who have sailed with Carnival. A valid past guest number is required from at least one person in each stateroom to book this rate. Onboard Credit offer is non-transferable and non-refundable. Onboard Credit is provided as a non-refundable credit to your Sail & Sign account of $12.50 per person up to $25 per stateroom. 50% per person non-refundable deposit is applicable to sailings outside of final payment due date. Deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Changes made to the reservation may result in the assessment of cancellation penalties or service fees. All cancellations that occur prior to the final payment due date will receive a non-refundable and non-transferable future cruise credit in US dollars in the amount of the deposit less a $50 pp service fee. Guest may select the stateroom, but a minimum purchase of category 4A is required."

Hope that helps.

Yes, I already read the fine print. I just noticed that this rate expires today. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

I feel like i just saw it last night when I was looking at rates. I generally go with the early saver option though just because it tends to be less expensive.

Thanks, Garth2. I'm feeling the warm fuzzies. Or that might be rum. Lol. I think you may have drawn attention to Carnival revamping other special fare rules beyond their casino fare rules which have also recently taken place. I'm sure others will appreciate you drawing attention to the change. We're all going to have to relearn how to be informed Carnival cruise consumers based on the new fare rules/offers. We all benefit from sharing good information, so thanks for that.

I've always wondered how they can run out a new sale every week and the price seems to stay the same?

Pet peeve on searching for low prices on Carnival is they throw out the 1A price to lure customers but the real comparable price in comparison to published RCCL , Celebrity etc rates would really be at least the 4A rates.

I am not seeing any sales going on now. What dates do they end? I am looking to book something this week but think I might wait another day or two. I checked rates this morning and the total was $50 less than yesterday but just checked again (same room, same dates, same ship) and it jumped back up $25. The sale date is 8/2 so the full amount is due but I want to make sure I don't miss out on a better rate. Thoughts anyone?

.
Prices may be the same but you get extra OBC and/or lower deposit from time to time.

At least on my last cruise, I found a legitimate sale that saved us about 30%. Some of those are harder to find. Other than that, when they say they have "Early saver sales" they tend to have decent prices, and OBC. Those don't claim to be limited time sales. What more are you expecting?
