Princess EZ Check Question

How do you find out what airlines participate??

It will be on the form that they will send to you toward the end of your cruise. I believe, but am not sure about this at all, that the ship will check your cruise persosnalizer to see if you have your flight information put in there and if it is and your airline is one of those participating then they will take steps to insure that you receive EZ-Check paperwork before the end of the cruise. If your flight info is not listed in your personalizer or it's not one of the participating airlines, then you will not receive the papework. As I said, this is just what I think occurs and it may be way off base. I'm attaching a copy of the EZ-Check paperwork from 2013 for Fort Lauderdale so you can see what the paperwork looks like. The info on that sheet, however, may not be valid any more.

It's a regular JPEG so I don't know why it wouldn't download and be viewable by any graphics viewer. Odd.

It expands to the same small size that all other forum thumbnails expand to. Good for scenery, not good for reading what is on what was originally an 8.5x11 piece of paper.

Nothing you did wrong. That is just how Cruise Critic thumbnails work.

Ah, okay. Never realized that was the way it worked. Thanks for letting me know. Any day I learn something is a good day!

We love using ez check, very simple, but we have been caught a couple of times for a mandatory bag inspection. As we leave the ship, our cruise cards get flagged and we are escorted to our bags and asked to point them out (once we had to open and go through them, the other 2 times - just point them out). They are then next seen at our home airport in JFK.

We would like to use it again in a couple of weeks (FLL to JFK), but have for once selected an early flight, and i think there is an earliest time you can use it. We fly at 10.55am, and i believe ez check states you can only use for flights after 11am and before 11.30pm. I still might ask to see if there is some flexibility for the 5 minutes.

A nice bonus was to have our boarding passes delivered to the room. My 78 year old mom was a little resistant to use the service but really felt it was a great value. It really took the sting out of the worst part of getting from ship to plane.

We just flew back from FLL using EZCheck and agree it was well worth the money. Not having your bags to drag around is great, not having to stand in the United line that was out the door at FLL was priceless.

I agree that it is well worth the money and a wonderful service for passengers with mobility, medical etc. issues.:)

We are flying out of Vancouver on United after our Princess cruise. Does anyone know if ezcheck is offered? Where I would be able to look for this information?

Thanks

You might check with the pier staff at Canada Place when you board the ship, they might know. If not then, check with Passenger Services on the ship. If you have your flight info on your Cruise Personalizer, they, the ship, should automatically send you the proper paperwork a couple of days before the end of the cruise. United does usually participate at most places I believe.

I am trying to find out if Allegiant Air participates. I am sure they don't, but it's worth a shot.

They are not listed. Participating Airlines: American Airlines, 1st bag $25.00 2nd bag $35.00; Delta Airlines - 1st bag $25.00 2nd bag $35.00; Jet Blue 1st bag $20.00 2nd bag $35.00; United Airlines (Fort Lauderdale only, Miami airport not an option) 1st bag $25 2nd bag $35.00; Southwest Airlines 1st and 2nd bag no charge.

Not true if you have had the age verified before and it is marked as such in the Southwest computer system.

However, the senior fares are now always higher than the wanna getaway fares, so unless you are booking at the last minute when wanna getaway fares are not available, you will likely not use the senior fare.

Thank you caribill, I lost a lot of sleep last night worrying about what was said here. This is my first solo cruise and I need all the help I can get with my luggage.

I have a Delta Am Ex card which allows me one free bag how does Princess handle this so I won't get dinged for the $25 baggage fee?

The Delta Amex 1st bag free automatically applies to your booked flights provided you used that card to book flights. I attach a copy of the Delta Flight itinerary that has all info (Delta Sky Miles #'s , Delta Confirmation #, Flight #'s, etc) to the Princess EZ Check form & make a copy of both forms onboard - as a back-up.

  • 1 year later...

If you travel with a person with disabilities the EZ service is well worth the cost. Mom and I used it last year and it made the processing through customs at the port a breeze and the madhouse at the airport bearable.
