Question regarding B2B2B; repeating itinerary.

Next year we are booked on the Royal for three (3) Mexican Riviera, 7 night cruises. They are separate itineraries, departing/arriving at the San Pedro port. Curious if anyone has done this, and if so what should we expect as we transition from one itinerary to the next.

Check your booking number(s). If there is one booking number you are fine. If you have three for the three separate cruises there is a chance that you may have to change cabins in port. Not a big deal, but it will take a couple of hours out of that morning in port.

The first two itineraries are in the same suite, the third is a suite on the same deck, opposite corner. We couldn't get the same cabin for all three itineraries. All three have different booking numbers.

You will have the choices for going off fo r the day. Princess will offer tours or you can go on your own just like any other port. You will be able to leave the ship as soon as it has been cleared. You will not be able to reboard until boarding starts for new passengers

You will get an envelope a day or two before the end of each cruise explaining the process and where to meet if not doing a tour or something outside the port. For the 2 cruises in the same cabin you will likely just have 1 card with date range for both but it is possible you will have a different card for each cruise. Your account will carry on to the next cruise until the end so it is not settled after each week. For the cruise where you move help will be provide - you need to pack all lose items but everything hanging up will be moved that way.

As noted, the whole process for those wanting to stay on the ship will only take around 20 minutes - this assumes everyone does as told. The ship needs to have a 0 count of passengers on the ship. Once everyone is off, then a very quick check with immigration and then back on. I had a case where 2 passengers took about 40 minutes to show up and that held up around 400 other passengers who had to wait in the terminal.

On our back to back (2 - 7 day cruises) we had to disembark from the ship but were allowed right back on. Our room did not change and we used this time to use the guest laundry room to catch up on clean clothes.

One thing i remember as being "strange" in a way was attended some of the same shows we had watched the first time around. The Cruise director told the same stories and jokes... we could finish the lines before he finished them. It was kind of like being in that movie "Groundhog Day". It was not really annoying but gave a new perspective to the cruise... the new people were laughing and the people who have been there before saw the "presentation" or scripted act....

regardless you will have a great time!!! enjoy!!

On this one, Paul's the man! He has it right.

Moving staterooms is as easy as you want it to be. Your room steward will move any or all of your items to the new stateroom. We prefer to move all our own items, so we wait on ship until around 9am to move our items to the new stateroom. When not changing staterooms, we are almost always with the first group off the ship.

Pace yourself on the shows, because they do repeat. Guest entertainment frequently changes, but check with the Cruise Director, if you need to know.

Turn Around Day at U.S.Ports

Be sure to fully read and follow theinstructions exactly for turn around day.

You will have two choices:

a) Exit the ship anytime after disembarkationhas begun up to the final call around 9:30/10:00am. Take you passport, cruisecard(s) and intransit card with you. Return to the ship anytime afterembarkation has begun, around 11:30am.With the intransit card you will get right on the ship. You will have to gothrough immigration on exit and security when you return.

b) Stay on the ship and report NO LATER THAN THETIME INDICATED to the location indicated in the directions, usually thetheater. Bring your passport and cruise card(s) with you. If you stay on theship you must report, NO EXCEPTIONS. A staff member will guide you throughimmigration and back on the ship.

You do not have to go to a second muster drill.

If you are staying in the same cabin your cabinsteward will prepare your cabin just like any other day. Nothing is removed. Wenormally advise the cabin steward to schedule our cabin last to provide moretime to get cabins ready for the new passengers. Just a courtesy.

If you are changing cabins your cabin stewardwill arrange for the move. Keep as much on hangers as possible. Pack otheritems in your luggage.

Thank you! We will be B2B in Whittier in two weeks and are hoping to do laundry that morning. Does that seem feasible? Agree with you about letting the steward know to leave us until the end. Just curious, was this info from an Alaska cruise or elsewhere in US?

Thanks.

In Whittier you do not have to go through the zeroing of passenger count as you are not just entering the USA from a foreign port. Thus you can do what you want that day on or off the ship without needing to report to a meeting place with a group.

You may want to consider an excursion that day. Others have posited about great tours you can book independently in Whittier.

Usually in a US port, including San Pedro. You have a choice of taking your in transit card and getting off any time during the disembarkation process, take an excursion if offered, or waiting on board until disembarkation is complete and go through immigration with the B2B group.

If you do get off during disembarkation you will not be able to board until the ship is cleared and boarding for new passengers starts. The in transit card will allow you to bypass the group numbering/waiting process and go right on board whenever you want to during the embarkation process.

The night before you dock, you will be given the new card for the next cruise. You check off the ship with the old card, and check back onto the ship with the new card.

If you are changing rooms, you need to pack up your non-hanging clothing and items (including safe contents). Arrangements will be made through your steward for the hanging items and suitcases to be moved to your new room.

Have done this many times.

From another thread

If you are just looking to pass the time for the day in Whittier you might consider one of the glaacier cruises. You can book either directly or through Princess, although Princess is maybe $40 more per person. And if booking directly you can get a 10% AAA discount. We did it a couple of weeks ago doing the 26 glacier cruise. We did see all the glacies as promised as well as lots of wildlife. It was a great excursion.

Does not apply to Whitter. In Whitter you go through immigration in Vancouver so the turn around is just like any other port day, no immigration.

They will inform you , go thru customs and right back on.
