LADIES: How many pairs of shoes are you taking on your cruise?

We've had some fun, and a few surprises, with this question on the Celebrity forum.

For a 2 week cruise I normally take 7 pairs:

1 pair of beach flip-flops/shower shoes

1 pair of non-beach flip-flops

1 pair walking shoes

1 pair of my signature red loafers

1 pair sandals

1 pair black pumps (not stilettos)

1 pair silver pumps (not stilettos)

One pair of lightweight sneakers, one casual flip flops, one dressy flip flops and one pair dressy shoes

Usually I wear my sneakers going to ship or casual flip flops

Usually no more than 3 pair...regardless of length of cruise..

1 pair heavy tennis shoes..which I wear to the ship & in port..

1 pair pool shoes/fip flops

1 pair black sandels... I plan all my dinner outfits around what goes with these....:D

Still trying to figure it out. I usually take a lot, but that is because we usually dont fly to the port. But, this June we're flying to Florida... so I feel limited! :eek: I will probably travel in a nice pair of pretty flats, pack one pair of lightweight sneakers and this is a maybe, flip flops for the pool, and 2 or 3 pair of heels for night time? It depends on the exact outfits and formals I pack.

Ha ha ha. You remind me of my SIL. Last November she brought a pair of stilettos for each evening outfit. 14 day cruise; 14 pairs!!!

And she also had 5-7 pairs of sandals.

Needless to say, she had a suitcase for shoes. And it weighed a ton....:eek:

Yikes! I just went on a shoe shopping spree!! I'll be bringing between 10 and 12 pairs.

Fortunately I have many months to think about this conundrum! I love shoes. I also plan on taking only a carry-on piece of luggage. Something's gotta give. More clothes? More shoes? Argggggg.

Sure thing: one pair sensible walking shoes. One pair dress-up shoes. Well, maybe two of each. That's only four pairs of shoes which I think is very reasonable! (that's the plan anyways...actual mileage may vary and past performance is no guarantee...)

I'm not a big shoe person. I usually take no less than 3 and no more than 5 pair of shoes depending on itinerary and length of cruise. Where do you ladies put 10 or 15 pairs of shoes in the cabin? Do you stack them up in the closet?

Oh, I HAVE to show my husband this thread !!!! We sail on April 3rd.

I have my shoes narrowed down to the following:

Black Pumps

Silver pumps with straps

Black strappy ones

Black slip on wedges for casual and around the pool

ballet flats

White flip flops

Black flip flops

white sketchers runners ( light weight)

I really want to take a pair of while slip-on heels too . . . .

Also, as far as I am concerned, flip flops shouldn't count as shoes anyway!!!

Cute thread! I fly... and I am a practical packer because I have over packed soooo many times this is what I will bring for a week cruise:

tennis shoes for walking/jogging track,

beach flip flops,

croc flip flop sandals (really comfortable) for everyDay,

white sandals,

and black OR silver strappy sandals with a heel for night time.

Together with the husband and son we are packing all of our shoes in a carryon for the flight. Just in case we don't get our luggage....we will have our shoes!!! LOL Just kidding! We are only allowed 50 lbs per suitcase AND I refuse to pay another $20.00 for a suitcase filled with shoes. Hmmm, I could buy another pair of shoes with that $20.00.:D

I'm trying to figure this out right now! We leave in 12 days, and it's looking like maybe 8 pairs of shoes. Until the suitcase is zipped, though, there is no guarantee on that final number...

This is the one thing that always trips me up when packing -- no pun intended!

1 pair of sneakers for the gym

1 pair of casual shoes for ports/sea days

1 pair of flip flops

1 pair of dress heels

For our recent cruise on Serenade I took 4 pair...tennis shoes (that I wore for travel days), a pair of black flats that I wore every night with dress pants in the MDR, brown leather sandals (like flip flops with an ankle strap) and a pair of black heels that I didn't wear at all. I wore a simple black dress with some simple beading for formal night so I wore the black flats to be more comfortable...I HATE HEELS!!! Next time the heels stay at home and we won't be doing formal night so it should be just 3 pair. We love to travel light and hate to dress up formally. I may be in the minority but I'm going to be lovin' life when my husband and I have 1 carry on each for our b2b on Serenade next Jan/Feb!!

We're lucky that most of the time we don't fly to go on a cruise. I usually end up taking anywhere from 8-10 pair. Luckily I'm the only girl in the family so I tend to get extra space to shove shoes into hubby and son's bags. :D

I'm practical about just about everything...except shoes.

My daughter and I are doing a B2B in May, and thank goodness we wear the same size and we share many of our shoes. We decided yesterday we were gonna have to coordinate. When we get to the heels, we don't share. I am at a point in life way beyond 5" heels :eek:. We WILL have one small suitcase for shoes, I am quite certain.

So, right now I'm looking at -

Athletic shoes

Water shoes

Two pair of casual flip flops

Dressier sandals

Two pair of walking flats (blue, bronze)

Dressy silver heels

Funkier dress bronze heels

I'm sure I'll have more in the suitcase at some point. It just depends on how much spare room there is. If there's a hole, it will have shoes in it!

It was much easier for me to scale back my dress wardrobe than my shoes.

I think I have settled on

black comfort wedge sandals for plane

1 pr flat flip flops

1 pr merrill walking shoes

1 pr dressy gold sandals

1 pr black pumps

1 pr wedge flip flop type casual

and crap, I will probably bring my dressy black wedge sandals for night also.

So that's 3 pr for night time and 3 pr for walking or day and those extra flip flops which don't count, right?

I usually take 7 pairs, counting flip flops for the pool for a Caribbean cruise:

Black Dress Shoes for formal nights,

Black Wedge Sandals for Casual nights,

Tennis shoes,

2 pairs Casual sandals,

Flip Flops for the pools

Water shoes for beaches

For our Alaska cruise, I took:

Black Dress Shoes for formal nights,

Black Wedge Sandals for Casual nights,

2 pairs Tennis shoes (since it can be rainy in Alaska),

flip flops for the pool,

1 pair casual sandals

OMG... Who knew silver was so in this year... I'm going to have to

re-think my pre-planned shoe wardrobe... But as of right now--for

my first cruise in August--I'm planning on:

3 pairs of flip-flops - diff colours - the thin light weight ones

1 pair black flats

1 pair closed-back sandals

2... maybe 3 pairs of dressy heels - for dinner and pub nights (at least 1 will be black)...

1 pair water shoes... maybe...

1 pair fuzzy bath slippers - for the room - because I'm on vacation!! :D

... I'm not doing too badly, but we'll see, there's a lot of time

between now and August.

3 pairs of flip flops (black, white and grey)

1 pair of dress shoes

1 pair of sneakers

I don't even want to count how many pairs I'll want to take along. Our cruise is not untill Nov, and it might take me that long to decide which ones NOT to take. I love shoes and my bling, but then I love clothes...it's a good thing we drive to the port!

Okay, this time, I got them all in one little shoe holder thing:

1 pair flip flops

1 pair high heels

1 pair strappy sandals (if the high heels bug me)

1 pair Vibram foot-gloves for when my feet hurt

and I'll be wearing my Trex mary janes... and leaving the sneakers at home!

It's a 14-day cruise, too. :)

I'll be wearing a comfy pair of sandals that I'll be wearing on the ship and in port and taking a pair of flip flops for pool/beach and one dressy pair of sandals for the evenings/formal nights that will go with everything I plan on taking. Lol, for me, everything has to mix and match. I am do not overpack!

My shoes for our 7 day to FL/Bahamas:

jambu touring shoes in black

jambu touring shoes in brown

2 (Teva or Taylor Marc) flip flops

Clark black pumps

and a hiking sandal I have yet to buy. If I don't find any hiking sandals i like, I'll bring a pair of sneakers.

Total is 6. Well, that's not so bad. :)

2 week cruise at least 10-12 pairs of various type of shoes

not a shoe person but my feet change so much on a cruise that i have to have "options"--have to be comfortable
