OlsSalt Posted September 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2015 On another thread we found the Cruise Critic list of recommended books about cruising and its history. It looks like a list of winners, several of them exclusively about HAL. Wish they would stock all of these in the HAL libraries, as they all sound like good, rip roaring reads: http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=

I saw a couple in the Neptune Lounge (not sure if those were in the library or not) and several others in the library (Oak Room I believe). I particularly enjoyed Stephen Card's. There was another book there by him I believe - I think on Cunard (but my memory is short) and it was very good. Had to be browsed there though, but no biggie ;)
Rockfan2 Posted September 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2015 I was in a local consignment shop and came across a coffee table book about the Art on Holland America. I think I only paid $5 for it and it is a beautiful collection of photos. Rockfan2

Globaliser Posted September 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Wish they would stock all of these in the HAL libraries ...The problem is that getting that many copies of The Spotless Fleet could bankrupt HAL. I would buy one if it didn't mean that I'd have to extend my mortgage to do so. Topsham: You know you have a market for a new edition!
sppunk Posted September 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 7, 2015 Some great ones there. But they really need to add A Man and His Ship: America's Greatest Naval Architect and His Quest to Build the S.S. United States.
