DH is very alergic to the Elemis products so we have to bring our own.

These are the products that should be in all cabins:

The products included:

1.7 ounce bottle - Pure Shine Shampoo - infused with the aroma of Lime, Basil, and Grapefruit.

1.7 ounce bottle - Pro-Vitamin Conditioner - a citrus experience that replenishes with conditioning Vitamin B5 Panthenol.

1.7 ounce bottle - Sharp Shower and Bath Gel - an aroma-therapeutic blend of Mint, Charmonile, Wild Marjoram, Nettle and Thyme in a Mineral rich Sea Salt base.

1.7 ounce bottle of Vitamin Rich-Body Lotion - infused with Vitamin-rich Wheat Germ, Carrot and Sweet Almond Oil.

For the Face: Citrus Soap Slice - pure Glycerin soap is lightly infused with the aroma of Grapefruit, Basil, Clove and Lime.

For the Body: pure zest cleansing soap - infused with nature's own Lime, Clove Leaf, Lavender and Rosemary Extracts in Palm Oil.

DH and I were on the Noordam 11/27-12/7 and loved the Elemis products. We had brought our own stuff, but never used them. The wonderful lemon soap made me think of lemon drops the whole time and I loved it. The shampoo is great as is the body lotion, and the shower bar soap is nice, too. Didn't use the conditioner or body wash.

Same here. Used some shampoo yesterday, as a matter of fact. We try to always have a few bottles in reserve.

About a week ago here too... then just veg'd at home in my HAL bathrobe...

While sitting there I said "Okay masseuse I'm ready..."

No one came...

DAM! :( Oh well, 4 cruises next year and a 5th (2 day coastal) I'm about to add. I'll get my time in soon enough :D

No matter how hard I looked, I could not find the elevator to take me to the Lido for breakfast this morning.

Are the products in the cabin decent enough, or does one need to pack shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, etc? Trying to pack as light as possible.

I like the new products line except for one thing... the packaging!

I work with my hands a lot and have a good, strong grip. Or so I thought...

Kind of awkward, standing in the shower with water running in my eyes, trying to get a grip on the smooth shampoo bottle cap.

Slip, slip, slip and finally just ended up sticking it in my mouth to get a strong enough grip on the cap to loosen it. :o

I honestly don't know who approved the new packaging at HAL, but they sure didn't consider their arthritic or weak gripped pax when removing the knurls from the little bottle lids.

I love the soap also . Two of those lovely little circles followed me home and are now living in my powder room.:) The scent takes me back onboard ship ,it helps between cruises;)

Do they replace the shampoo, etc. everyday, or do they wait until you're out, or ???

Generally, they replace them when you're out.

It's best to work out the signal with your cabin steward. Sometimes they refill the stand, and you take as needed. Other stewards wait until you leave the empty bottle on the counter before they replace it.

And don't forget that the little stand, and everything in it, disappears on the last turn-down before disembarkation. If you're going to need to open a new something before bed, or in the morning, take it before you leave for that last evening. ;)

Remember the Royal Dutch products? They were nice, large bottles (4" - 4 1/2") and had the knurled caps. I like Elemis ... but miss the Royal Dutch.

On our last cruise our friendly room steward would replace the little bottles every day when I tucked the old ones away with my cosmetics.
That was my experience up until the Eurodam prelude and inaugural cruises. Getting more bottles was like pulling teeth! We ran out more than once and had to find our steward to ask for more. It was like they were limiting cabins to two bottles per week!

With what we were spending for those sailings, it was almost insulting that they were so chincy with shampoo and body wash!

I loved the products that were given to us in our room. The only thing that I would pack would be a good conditioner. The whipping wind on the ship, the treated pool water and the ocean salt water is going to be hard on your hair.

I packed the Paul Mitchel Conditioner. You emulisfy this in your heated palms until it turns white and hold your palms against your hair for about 10 seconds until the emulsion is absorbed.

After a day of heavy abuse, there is no rinsing. You just leave it there. The nice thing about this conditioner is that it can also be used as a skin lotion. So, if you are trying to cut down on packing, it is wonderful.

I'm sure there are other nice conditioners out there.
