question about confusing itinerary on Princess website

I am so confused! See the information below from the Princess website. Is this cruise going to Princess Cays or Belize? I called Princess and the lady had no clue!

We recently took a Princes cruise....and when we went on to their website...couldn't find so many of the things that we should have been able to.....not designed well at all. Also they are behind aboard too..at least on the Diamond - only one we've been on. No access to your account via tv and long line ups for customer service that isn't very good when you get there. They don't provide you with your account until morning of departure when no opportunity to dispute and make it extremely inconvenient to get the info prior to that because of long lines. Hope they improve this aspect because its frustrating....otherwise, love Princess!!

I would be going by the printed itineary, not the map. What has probably happened is that someone posted the wrong map for that cruise. ;)

That reminds me of a current UK tv ad for a Caribbean cruise where the map shows St Johns, Newfoundland instead of St Johns, Antigua. Now that would be a detour.;)

Allison, Best to call princess and alert them to the error, I am sure it will be fixed in a matter of days. Unless you advise them there is a mistake, sometimes it takes a long while before it is reported. Good Luck!

Calling Princess doesn't always take care of it either, and TA's don't always have the correct itinerary. On our cruise Canada/New England, there was a change from Newport, RI to New London, Ct. It took Princess several months to say that there was indeed a change in the itinerary. And if you go by the Countdown Calendar from Princess (I don't) we are going from NY to Denmark to Boston in three days.

I did call Princess. Their screen doesn't have the description and the map. When she pulled up the website, she understood the confusion. Hopefully they will get it fixed.

Any many ships now have an area by the purser's desk that you can go to, scan your cruise card, and a printer will print out your account statement right there within seconds. No more need of asking or standing in line to receive it. ;)

If I was a betting person, I'd bet on the written itinerary being correct. When they created the new Western cruise, whoever set up the web page, just copied the old written description and map. I've seen other pages with similar mistakes, obviously from copy/pasting. Sometimes the name of the cruise is wrong, like FLL to LA, when it really is the other way on Panama Canal cruises.

 

That new itinerary (for fall 2011-spring 2012) ties in with the new Southern RT from FLL on the Crown. The Southern itinerary goes to Princess Cays. You can take either of these separately, or they are being offered as a combined 14 day cruise. I think because of that combination, they elimated Princess Cays from the Western, so that the 14 day cruise wouldn't go there twice. Actually, this combined cruise really interests my DH and I, since we really want to do the Western Caribbean cruise, but I hate to fly all the way to Florida for a 7 day cruise. This would solve that problem. I suspect we may eventually book it.

Oh, I knew the itinerary had changed. It is just that it is still called "Bangkok to Sydney" on the Princess web site.

Since they are combining this cruise with a new southern cruise that goes to Princess Cays, it may make sense that Princess Cays is left off this one. I hope this is the correct itinerary. We are very interested in doing this 14 day combined cruise in 2012, but going to Princess Cays twice would probably be a deal breaker.

And it sure is quick! I was just on the Sapphire and swiped my card for a statement mid-week - the printer started doing it's thing when I had barely finished swiping - it nearly made me jump!
