(With comments on problems) – Chair noise from Johnny Rockets above, but on non-smoking side of the ship, so no smoke from pool deck. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Can be connected to SJ beside. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Wrap around balcony at front of bubble. Spectacular views of forward and aft. Lots of room. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversize wrap around balcony Was wind a problem? - On sea days windy, but has a wind screen that can be shut which makes a big difference. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Midship Any specific problems with this cabin? - Coffee table is in the way, some couples had theirs removed. Any other comments? - Difference from regular Grand Suite is front of bubble with wrap around deck. Love the view and extra room for outdoor dining and full size lounge chairs. (With comments on problems) – Typically yes, but located just outside stairwell. Had noisy group yelling up and down stairs one night. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – This ship has the "old" style balconies, lots of metal with rust, small oval view port. Overall great location though, and good views in ports. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - Never If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Slow drains in bathroom sink and on occasion, in the shower. Any other comments? - Older ship so some issues are expected. With the exception of the bathroom sink drain, we really had no issues with this room. 2Long2NxtCrz Posted May 27, 2017 #903 Share Posted May 27, 2017 Ship - Brilliance Deck - 9 Stateroom # - 9078 Stateroom Category - Superior Oceanview Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? – Yes, except with the caveat that this was the first cabin off the Centrum and the music does go until late at night and can be quite loud. They close the fire door at about 10pm and that really does shut out the sound. If you're super sensitive though, I'd suggest ear plugs or a different cabin. It was never a problem for us (we're usually up until at least midnight and are sound sleepers). Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - This ship is not new, so the balcony was what you'd expect, but ours was on the "hump" so we had a great view to the forward of the ship and out. You couldn't really see toward the back and that gave us a sense of privacy as well. Balcony Size? - Oversized. We had two chairs and a lounger and a proper table and still could have put another lounger and chair on the thing. Was wind a problem? - Never If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - The only "problem" was that the shower had a curtain instead of a shower door. It tended to leak and there's the whole "curtain attacking you while you shower" thing, but it wasn't a big issue, really. Any other comments? - This isn't one of the newest ships so there aren't outlets by the bed and the closet doors didn't close perfectly but they didn't come open or creak or squeak so that wasn't really a problem. It was really comfortable with the climate control working quite well and the location honestly could not be beat. Because we were on the 9th floor instead of the 10th we had no noise from the floor above and never heard our neighbors except once or twice faintly on the balcony. Being right by the Centrum gave us easy access to the elevators and the stairs, to the pool deck and Windjammer. It was no effort to run down and grab a specialty coffee or a cocktail. I would definitely book this room again.

(With comments on problems) – No! In the evening, there was lots of noise that sounded like running from the MDR which was 1 deck up during dinner and lunch times. Also there was noise from what sounded like large carts hitting the back wall (of the cabin), this occurred both during evenings and mid-morning. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - N/A Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A Was wind a problem? - N/A If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - No Any other comments? - Cabin is "sideways" with the door on the opposite side of the bed. It was double the size in floor area from the size of a typical inside cabin so there was a lot of room to spread out. The closet was 50% larger and the bathroom was the same size as a typical cabin. This large cabin would be a hidden gem if it wasn't the noisiest cabin that we've ever stayed in. Pictures below:

My husband said he could hear faint beeping noises sometimes in the night, most likely from one of these crew areas, but I never heard anything. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Any specific problems with this cabin? - The only thing that was bothersome was the spy hole in the door. It doesn't have a cover so the light from outside is bright during the night. We put a magnet over the hole and all was well.
CruiszBug Posted August 13, 2017 #918 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Ship - Oasis of the Seas Deck - 11 Stateroom # - 730 Stateroom Category – A3 (Spacious Aquatheater Suite) Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very Quiet! Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Unobstructed view of aqua theater and ship wake. Also views of starboard and partial port views. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Amazingly oversized! Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No Any specific problems with this cabin? - 1) No mirror in living room to aid in getting ready. No full-length mirror anywhere! Only 1 small mirror in bathroom, and 1 medium over bedroom vanity. There are good places for placement of a full-length mirror in the living room. I saw inside cabins with full-length mirrors in them, so why not this suite? 2) Drain would overflow onto floor if you allowed the water out of the tub too fast. Could hear water in the drain when you flushed the toilet. 3) A/C was hit and miss depending on how you closed and locked the balcony doors. I find this to be especially annoying since sometimes the A/C would work when the balcony was not locked and other times it would stop. I finally insisted that either Maintenance or the Stateroom attendant come and get the A/C going again. This was ONLY a problem in the Living Room. The bedroom was always COLD! Which was good since it was July... By the end of the week, it was working consistently. 4) This suite needs a door bell/buzzer on the balcony. If someone is at the door, you have no way of knowing, and believe me you are going to be out on that balcony most of the time rather than sitting in your living room! 5) Same problem with the phone. There should be a phone on the balcony, or a hands-free type that you can take onto the balcony. Any other comments? - We loved this suite! At first we thought it would be too far away from the Suites Lounge and a long walk to the aft elevators, but that was not the case. Even while pushing our daughter in a wheelchair, it was fine. For the right price, we would stay in this suite again... Our favorite suite to date is the Owner's Suite. This is a close second!

No superstructure in the way. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Seemed bigger but may be because it was a slightly different shape to a standard balcony. Was wind a problem? - No significant wind issues. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Noticed a bit of soot a couple of times, but not a problem. Any specific problems with this cabin? - Not really problems, just be aware that part of the balcony is overlooked by the balcony on deck 10 above and also by the Windjammer (just - you have to be up against the window and looking down to see). Any other comments? - Balcony had 2 reclining chairs (with footstools) and a round table. The balcony door is a lockable standard-type door rather than a sliding door. The circular window is great (big enough for kids to sit in). There are railings rather than the toughened glass on most other balconies, which is great for clamping a GoPro to. One of the drawers on the dresser needs wedging shut at is can slide out on its own. Fridge isn't a fridge but a 'cooler' - meds have to be stored elsewhere. 1 x EU socket and 2 x US sockets. 1 x safe. Would definitely book this cabin again.
