"Did I join? Yes. As an affiliate to get on the cruise and that was free."

I think he is saying that he signed up to be an affiliate (free), and did not purchase the program. :)

Thanks for letting us know how it went. :D

Interesting review. Ive done chartered cruises before but the organizers were smart enough to know that it'd be a bad idea to take the entertainment out of a cruise.

So the biggest question I have is --- did you get your cruise credit??!:)

Ok folks. Let me answer a couple of questions. But before I do that I apologize for not spell checking my review. I was in a rush to do it and get it to you. Anyway..

1. No. I did not become a GIN member. It just was not

for me personally.

2. There will be one next year.

3. To their credit, they did NOT charge my credit card one penny.

4. It's too early to tell if I will get the cruise credit. But my Seapass card

said DIAMOND. I did call RC and they assured me I would be credited.

However it's too early to tell.

I did get a bottle of Moet, a fruit basket, a cheese and fruit tray, AND

was one of the only 8 people to tour of the bridge and meet the Captain.

I momentarily though those were GIN perks, but then I remembered this

was the first cruise I was able to use my newly gotten Diamond status.

5. We were in room 6541. A modest room a best. The better rooms

presumably went to those that paid, and or GIN members.

Wow!

If they had not just changed to cruise points there would be a ton of people screaming that a free 3 day cruise should not equal their bajillion dollar, 300 day cruise in the King Midas Suite! :D:D

Haha! Anyway, glad to hear it worked out for you. I was curious to find out what the end result was. I'll bet there will be many more on that cruise next year now that we know they give credit and C&A perks for free. If I can talk myself into sitting through the seminars I might even look into it. ;)

UPDATE: The guy that chartered that ship for that "Free" cruise is now in prison and the company defunct. I felt obligated to post this since I started this thread. Glad I did not spend my money!!!

I'm trying to not let this destroy my faith in the integrity of the Snake Oil Salesman Community! Does this mean you have to give your cruise points back? ;):D
